History

Established in 2012.

Upon moving to Chicago in 2010, the owner was looking into cheap, easy to park transportation. After quickly ruling out scooters, a moped was at the top of the list. After checking out some mopeds, and seeing some drive by, he soon came to the realization that due to the size of the mopeds, anyone riding a moped down the road who was over five foot seven closely resembles a circus clown riding a miniature bicycle. Since he was six one, and no circus clown, a moped was quickly out of the question. The second possible solution was a motorized bicycle, the problem was most looked like they got hit pretty hard with the ugly stick. Fortunately, this was a problem he could solve, and far more feasible than shrinking himself. Shortly thereafter, with an eye for proportion and a borderline dysfunctional quest to constantly one up himself, the concept for Thunderchief Cycles was born.
