The Spa at Trump

I wish I had more time to spend at the spa because the amount I shelled out for a hot stone massage called for a full day of relaxation for sure. The staff members at the front desk were very friendly and checked me in immediately and directed me to the lounge. My masseuse was very attentive and catered to my specific needs. He allowed me to completely relax (instead of chatting with me – which I’ve had happen way too often). The bathroom was also well appointed and had hair styling tools in case you forgot to bring your own. It also had scrubs and essential oils to make the most of your shower.

First time at the spa, it was excellent! Staff was very accommodating and knowledgeable. The Radiant Sugar Scrub with Vichy Shower was superb!!! Elizabeth hands are wonderful, totally relaxed and my skin is glowing!!! Thank you Elizabeth next time in Chicago I will be returning!!! Highly recommend

Love their pool for the kids. My husband and I love the spa and sauna. Very relaxing. Spent three hours swimming with the kids yesterday. This morning they spent another three hours in the trump spa. It’s wintry cold outside but nice at the trump spa

As a resident of Trump Tower, the Spa is rather tempting, given that I can get a massage without ever having to set foot into the blistering cold winter of Chicago. Add to that, that residents get a substantial discount on the weekdays, and it should seem like a no-​brainer.
Yet, as a matter of personal policy and adherence to my principles, I simply cannot patronize The Trump Spa, for one simple reason. At the beginning of every visit, they make you sign a ridiculous contract in which you must agree to «give up substantial human rights». How can I possibly enjoy what is supposed to be a relaxing Swedish massage when just moments prior, I signed a contract giving up substantial rights? If this was North Korea, I’d be agreeing to 20 years hard labor.
Additionally, the contract is poorly written: «I release the released parties…»
If the policy were to require signing of the contract only on initial visits but not on subsequent visits, I might be able to eventually forget that I have signed such a barbaric document and enjoy the services, but no… they make you sign it every time you visit.
Lastly, they include a 20% gratuity on your bill, and while that can be adjusted at the request of the customer, I find it obnoxious and presumptuous when any gratuity is forced.
And so it goes, that instead of visiting the beautiful spa just floors beneath me, I trek out in frigid temperatures to Urban Oasis for my massages, where I don’t have to sign a ridiculous contract, am not forced into a gratuity, and where the massages are just as good, if not better.

Disappointed to learn that the classes offered are only open to hotel guests, residents, and members. While I don’t think their policy is inappropriate, I’m unsure of why they offer pricing per session on their public site, along with schedule, but make no mention of their exclusions.
I was looking forward to a Saturday morning class with a beautiful view, and willing to pay Trump prices for it, but it shall not be so. Bummer.

Was expecting a 5 star experience at the Trump Chicago Spa. Was disappointed.
I don’t get a ton of time to de-​stress and relax so a visit to a spa is a luxury. I’m not sure what I was expecting but I’ve been to other spas in top hotels and have thoroughly enjoyed myself. The spa at the trump is not private or secluded, it is actually located within the hotel where there is a lot of pool and health club traffic and on the weekend of my visit there were children running around everywhere. The only access point to the pool is through the shared locker room so while you are changing into a robe to try and get blissed out there will be kids running around, dripping everywhere. Locker room was fine but nothing special.
The relaxation area was adequate, stocked with water, tea, dried fruit and nuts. There was also a private women’s lounge area but there were non-​spa goers enjoying their take out dinner in the area. Again, not exactly what I had in mind. I had a 60 min massage that was nothing special. The massage therapist was lovely but was very gentle even after I repeatedly asked for more pressure. Overall I was underwhelmed. I was with a group of friends and the service reviews were mixed. Some had great services and others felt just eh. I think if you are staying at the Trump the spa is probably fine but in all honesty I would not make an extra special trip. If you are looking for a place to entertain your family this is the place for you. If you are seeking a reprieve from the kids this not the place! There are plenty of other amazing spas in Chicago. The Penninsula and Waldorf are exceptional.

I have to say the spa is perfect size for the location. This spa is located in the Trump hotel and the private residence. If you are staying here at the hotel they don’t charge you to use the facility. They have excellent customer service and very knowledgeable staff members to answer all you’re questions.
If you are just coming here for a romantic weekend or just a business trip I highly recommend getting a massage. The looker rooms are maintained extremely well.
Hands down one of the nicest spa experiences you will have why you are staying here. I highly recommend the massages, They have excellent couple massages that I have tried yet. Overall my experience was outstanding. When i come back to Chiacgo again I will staying here again.

This is my favorite spa and when I travel to CHI I always go. I had a wonderful pedicure from Stas Rayetsky. Could have been the best one I ever had. I highly recommend Stas for mani’s or pedi’s. I see another post about Stas and totally agree!

I have to give them kiddos for being able to accommodate and take two people at the same time for the same service. On the surface it was beautiful. I did an extra 30 minutes of cardio at the gym just enjoying the view from the 14^th floor. Technogym is on hand for your work out, nice choice.
While the locker room is ok, many of the details are missed. Towel hooks in the shower loose and upside down. Sinks that don’t drain, lotions that are empty and poorly serviced areas contained used, cups and unattended towels.

Staff was excellent and attentive and it was a perfect day to get pampered. My ‘Universal Glow’ facial was thorough and the massage was excellent. Front desk didn’t mention to my boyfriend when he made the reservation that the men’s stream room was out of order so that peeved him. All the ammendities were the standard ones and it wasn’t anything too special.
My manicure was not trump quality by far. From what your paying and the location where you are you’d expect even coats of nail polish, thorough cleaning and trimming around the nail folds– at the least! (Skin wasn’t even trimmed around the nail bed!) Bf’s pedicure was better, probably because no polish was involved but even then the manicurist didn’t swipe under the nail. He had to ASK her to clean the sock fuzz out! His feet did end up baby smooth with some good laughs.
The overall experience was just ok and paying hundred (s) for these services was def not worth it.

Worst manicure ever! Nail polish all over my fingers — didn’t go to the ends of nail beds either. I asked for a color comparable to Bubble Bath, what I received was some kind of bubble gum pink. It would be one thing to get this level of manicure if I had paid $ 15, but the expectation is far higher here.
(I do have to say that we ordered lunch during our services and the food was delicious!)

Had a truly unique experience with my daughter and her best friend for my daughters 16^th bday. We went in for pedicures and were treated like queens! From robes, to slippers, to enjoying the sauna and steam room, this place is top notch! Thank you all so much for making my daughters bday a day to remember!

Had a facial today with Monica-​the Dermal Quench which is Kate Sommerville’s trademark facial. Unbelievable. I’m a person who pays attention to the little details. That is the difference between a fabulous experience and ho hum.
I used to be an esthetician so I know a fantastic facial. Her massage movements were excellent which is 70% of a great facial. She also didn’t smell funky (not good if they are hovering over your face), smoke (always a huge no no when it comes to estheticians), or have any things to annoy like disgusting sweaty hands, shakey hands, OR being overly chatty w silly small talk which annoys me. This is a «must have» facial for all spa and skin care addicts.
Also the front desk was professional, décor clean and soothing and everything so clean. Best spa slippers ever. Love the tea, the locker room, views. I’ve been to all 4 luxes and the best spa of all of them is by far the trump.
What many «spa managers» don’t get at these luxe hotels is that you have to know what a good facial feels like and managers who haven’t been estheticians sometimes don’t know the difference.
There is a certain culture you must cultivate to be the best in the spa industry and whoever is managing at the Trump Spa Chicago-​gets it.

the teas are as delicious as everyone says they are. I wanted to take them home! the fresh honey is a nice add on.
as far as price I didn’t find it any more expensive then your usually spas.
I will definitely try the one in miami & see if it’s up to par.

It’s The Trump. It’s expensive. What do you expect? That comb over is not in the business of affordable luxury.
While you are going to pay a pretty penny for services here, it includes a lot, and the quality is top-​notch. You get full access to the gym, steam room, fitness classes, and amazing locker room with all sorts of amenities. The robes are also A+…cozy on the inside.
In terms of spa services, I can only speak to the massages. I have had 4 thus far and every single therapist has been incredible. There is a relaxation room with fruit, tea, spa water, and light snacks. The therapy rooms feature heated beds and the therapists make sure you are 100% comfortable in terms of pillows, temperature, and pressure.

So, I just went for a massage here, and I legit fell asleep on the table.
That’s never happened to me before, and I’ve had several massages to compare. I legit was so relaxed, and so calm, I straight up passed. out. Sorry I’m not sorry.
I can’t remember the name of my masseuse, but she was fabulous. Just the right amount of pressure, and if she noticed a tense spot, she actually stopped to try to work it out. A lot of masseuses I’ve had in the past will just keep to their normal routine rather than actually trying to get the knots out. I appreciate this one’s thoroughness, although I can’t give her 5 stars because there is one masseuse at the Peninsula that seriously owns my heart.
This was the only time I’ve had a massage at the Trump, and I can say I’d give it a second try for sure. The best part is that you have access to their entire spa for the day that you book your appointment. next time I will definitely be going during the weekend so that I can spend the entire day relaxing.
Also — make sure you try some of the tea they have in the relaxation room. I probably had like 5 cups because it was so good.
I’ve also had mani /​pedis here, and from what I remember, they do a pretty good job with those as well!

We’ve been for my birthday the past 3 years. I get the body scrubs/​wraps each time. I love it. The atmosphere is very relaxing. I love the selection of teas to sip while I wait for my treatment! We always go work out first in the gym, and have used the pool also. The pool is ok.
The locker rooms are nice, and the gym has a nice view over the city.

Compared to other 5-​star hotel experiences, this spa was one of the less impressive spa. The fact that the walk from the ladies’ room to the spa rooms is public, passing people taking pictures and on a tourist trip, then cold water in the hot water jar for tea, and loud ventilation that made it hard to relax inside the massage room.
I will say they have large couples’ massage rooms and that may be the only time I return.
Btw, they also automatically add 20% gratuity to your spa bills (although you can request to change that before they run your card).

So disappointing. I was hoping for a nice relaxing spa manicure, and I expected to pay accordingly. I should’ve left when I heard the manicure was only $ 35, that should’ve been my first clue this was not going to be a quality relaxing spa experience.
Aesthetically, the spa and lounge is very nice, it’s very pretty. Large windows overlooking the city afford a very nice view. The front desk agent who showed me to the lounge asked if she could get me some tea, «sure, that would be great». She made my tea then says «I’ll take it into the spa for you» and walks away with it. Um, can I drink it now? I was about 15 minutes early for my appointment and was happy to see something to drink while I waited, no such luck.
The manicurist was nice, but I don’t really think she had any idea what she was doing. The damage done to my normally very healthy cuticles will take a couple weeks to heal. Somehow she created little spurs on a couple of my nails. Smack in the middle of the nailbed there is a little bit of nail stickin up. How did you do that?! And why?! The polish was chipping before the day was over, I repainted them myself the same night. I had to point out to the manicurist that she had missed the sides on a couple nails, how does that happen? You can’t see that strip of pink nail alongside the bright red polish? Really?
I called the next morning to let them know how dissapointed I was, which is something I never do, and the manager offered to refund me the cost of the manicure. A little tip for the staff at the Spa at Trump… when someone calls with a complaint, do not make them repeat it! This is like customer service 101 guys. I understand the agent answering the phone can’t handle the complaint, but then tell the manager everything I’ve already told you! Everytime you make an unhappy customer repeat themselves they get more and more annoyed.
I doubt I’ll be going back to the Spa at Trump any time soon. Especially not for a manicure or pedicure. I can get a more relaxing manicure just a few blocks from my place for the same price.
