I was strolling down Grand Avenue popping into various architectural/antique salvage stores when I discovered the Painted Lady. I had just browsed the Redefine store next door(sticker shock on everything), but the Painted Lady was refreshingly realistically priced. They have various décor, lighting, furniture items if you’re looking for a Shabby Chic/French Country design. They also have clothing by designers like Jack, BB Dakota, etc. at reasonal price points. If I wasn’t browsing with my boyfriend(who said that I had to touch everything in the store, and groaned when I wanted to do a 2nd lap), then I would’ve spent more time/money there. This shop is great and I plan on returning soon!

I really like this shop. It’s everything you want in a locally owned small business –unique pieces at great prices. I had a stellar shopping experience. I’ve been looking for something to replace a large glass coffee table. I wanted a grouping of small garden stools, so I thought. At The Painted Lady, I spotted two wooden ottomans and fell in love. There were quite a few customers milling about but the saleslady, and there was only one, was super friendly and bubbly. She saw that I wanted them, but couldn’t decide so she suggested that I take them home on approval. What?! Take them home, look at them in your space, if you like them we charge you, if you don’t, bring them back. Sold! I took them home, and they were perfect. Two days later, she called. Asked if I liked them, how I’m using them and if I want to keep them? YES! Yes! Yes! She charged my credit card and I’m happy. I’m not sure what people expect when they go shopping, but my experience reminds me of why I like shopping small, locally-owned stores that offer unique finds.

The owner Beth is incredible. She keeps a list of customers and what they’re looking for so when she goes on her next trips, she can search for the items. She also carries the CUTEST clothes in her store. I seriously can’t go in there without trying on 8 things and buying at least one thing each time I’m there. She opened a second store across the street and runs both of them seamlessly. I’m going to be furnishing my new place soon and already have plans to hit The Painted Lady.

If you love neutral décor and style this is the place to go! I think this is a beautiful store with moderately priced clothing and home décor, in addition to furniture(didn’t look at furniture prices). The owner is very friendly, helpful, and honest. She gave me a 50% discount on a clutch purse when it wasn’t even marked down yet. I have been back since with more great customer service. I’ll definitely be back.

Way overpriced, salespeople could not care less that you exist. There were two women working when I walked in just a few minutes ago, I was the only other person in there, and they just glanced at me as I came in and continued talking to each other. I walked up to one of them and said, «hello, how are you?» She replied, «good,» looked annoyed, and continued talking to her coworker. As I walked out I said«bye, thanks» loudly, and got absolutely no response. Everything is ridiculously overpriced(saw an ugly fleece blanket for $ 100). Will never go back, don’t waste your time.

Beautiful finds. Terrible service. Was the only person in the store and The salesperson didn’t even acknowledge me. Too bad.

I was pretty excited to live so close to such a great shop. I buy gifts, home décor, candles and a lot of clothing at this place. I went in for my monthly shopping trip(I have to limit myself as I always find something l like) on Friday afternoon and had THEWORST customer service ever! The owner should be appalled! I had my infant with me and was in a hurry, so I didn’t want to try the clothes I was purchasing on and asked the girl if the return policy is still 30 days. She made a face of disgust and said, «Well it is, but we won’t take back visibly worn clothing!». As if?! She had already not helped me ATALL and acted annoyed with me the entire time I was there. I was the only customer there! I told her I clearly wouldn’t wear the clothes and then try to return them. I just had my baby with me and did not have time to try them on at the moment and since I am nursing, I need to make sure the one dress will work well with that. I gave 2 stars because I love the store and have never had an issue before. That brunette girl that was working Friday, June 13th should be fired! I am actually debating on returning my purchases and will never shop when she is working there ever again. I will just keep on walking!

Love love love this shop! It’s like walking into a store full of things pulled especially for me! The atheistic is vintage inspired, cottage chic, old colonial charm, eclectic. Tons of pieces are perfectly refinished in white washed style and muted greys, blues, and purples. There are gorgeous pillows, plush furniture, super soft linens, coffee tables, lamps, beds, and so much more. If you visited the old location, this one is much bigger! And you have to love the cute shop bulldog who snorts his way over to you while you shop. Can’t wait to have lots of money and lots of rooms to decorate and buy tons of stuff from here.
