cYoga is the dynamic yoga style created by Carmen Aguilar. While the classes are rooted in the essence and the form of yoga, the delivery is adjusted to our world. cYoga helps students get better by accomplishing poses they could not do before, relieving pains and aches in their bodies, improving their breathing and concentration. cYoga also aims at keeping students engaged throughout the class so they can make a habit out of practicing yoga.

History

Established in 2010.

The Lab is the result of ten years of teaching, practicing and exploring the possibilities of Yoga. Carmen Aguilar had been teaching for a decade before she decided to open her yoga studio. Fully dedicated to her vigorous and motivating style, her classes are an inspiration and a tool to help her students to advance. Classes at The Lab follow Carmen’s style, which aims at getting the student to break their limitations, both mental and physical.

The Lab provides a space to help the student create and maintain a personal yoga practice. Every class at The Lab is different from the others and students come several times a week knowing that they will get something new every time they show up.

Carmen A.

Business Owner

Carmen Aguilar had completed an Engineering and Masters degree spoke four languages when she found yoga. She dropped everything she was doing and devoted all her energies to the study of this discipline.

During the first years she studied with every teacher she could find, traveling abroad if necessary. She defines her early influences as Ana Forrest and Andrey Lappa. She completed teacher trainings with both while she developed her own practice. Other teachers she has studied with include Shiva Rea, Richard Freeman, Rod Stryker, John Friend, Duncan Wong… Devoting to her practice between two and three hours, six days a week, she has been able to reach levels that few practitioners share. However, her strength is not in her practice but in her teaching. Carmen is able to take her students to places that they would not be able to get by themselves.
