The Flower Firm

We hosted a wedding about 10 days ago and The Flower Firm provided the flowers. They truly exceeded expectations. The arrangements were gorgeous. We worked with Nancy and she was a delight. Super easy to work with and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend The Flower Firm.

I am so happy I chose to work with Jacklyn at The Flower Firm for my wedding on 6÷13÷15. She started with a very indecisive bride and painted the full picture for me with past event photos and cropping in special vases for true examples of what my pieces could look like. We went into the studio for two sample viewings, both of which exceeded our expectations. The pieces were installed impeccably, and we are so happy Jacklyn could create such an amazing, picture perfect look. I can’t say enough about her responsiveness and willingness to go above and beyond.

Colette at the Flower Firm is a true professional. She took my inspirational ideas and more importantly my budget and made my flowers exactly what I wanted. We had a January wedding and I wanted to be careful not to select flowers that would be hard to source and very expensive given the time of year. She assured me that my favorite white calla lilies would be possible and took my ceremony, reception and bridal party vision and streamlined. The in person meeting was great — she even rented my linen from BBJ so I could see the entire look all together. She is a true pro and you can see that she loves floral design. The Flower Firm is the in house floral designer of the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago — clearly their reputation speaks for itself!

Colette is absolutely FABULOUS to work with! She is a creative genius. Upon our first meeting with her, she showed us countless styles and «feels» for how our wedding flowers could be. She talked to us, got to know us and got us to our perfect wedding flowers. The staging of the flowers was perfectly executed with attention to detail and obvious time and thought. The flowers at the wedding received as many compliments as my wedding dress! Everything was gorgeous. She made our winter wedding feel warm and celebratory. Love Flower Firm!

I cannot say enough good things about Colette and The Flower Firm. When I first met with Colette to talk about our wedding and what I had in mind, she listened and offered some really great suggestions, as well.
When my parents and I went back to see the mock up of what her and I had talked about, it was stunning! She did exactly what I had wanted (although I had never actually seen it, I knew what I wanted and she brought it to life).
At our wedding, my bouquet, as well as my bridesmaids’ bouquets and the boutonnieres were just perfect, the ceremony was so magical, and the reception tables were exactly as I knew they would be, but better.
Everything that The Flower Firm did so far exceeded our expectations, and I could not have imagined anything better. I would recommend them to anyone!

We were referred to Colette at the Flower Firm and from the moment we met with her, we were amazed and knew that we 100% wanted to work with her and her team for our wedding. Our flowers for both our rehearsal dinner and wedding were BEAUTIFUL. We were so impressed and our guests were WOWED when they walked into our reception venue, the Knickerbocker. Colette. the CEO and co-​founder even hand delivered me my bouquet the morning of my wedding which was very special. To start, Kelly Wood is amazing to work with. She has great energy, a high level of professionalism, and a wonderful knack for bringing a bride’s vision to life! I didn’t know exactly what I wanted — but she DID!
Another great thing about the Flower Firm is that they will actually make a preview of your centerpieces before the big day (at no charge) so you can see them in real life. This was super helpful to get an exact idea of size and true colors and make any changes.
On the day of, Kelly delivered the flowers personally. They were breathtaking. They were also incredibly fresh and went the entire day without browning or wilting; I even forgot to put my bouquet in water over night and it still looked great the next day when we dropped it off to have it preserved!
They are reasonably priced and Kelly will work with you to scale to your needs! I would highly recommend.

I could not be more pleased with the flowers The Flower Firm provided for my wedding on 8÷31÷13. I was amazed the day we walked in for the preview and just as floored when I saw the pavilion decorations. The personal flowers were exactly what we wanted. Whatever you request of The Flower Firm, they are more than happy to deliver! Nancy was very accommodating with corrections and changes we had to the order. Thank you so much for being part of such a special day for us.

We used Flower Firm for a wedding last summer. We worked with Colette and she was fabulous. During our initial consultation she listened and took notes as to exactly what we wanted and she also asked lots of questions. During the presentation of ideas during our second visit, she had captured exactly what we had hoped. The presentation was beautiful and included exactly what the table centerpieces would look like as well as bridal and bridesmaid bouquets. Every detail was handled perfectly and we were thrilled with their work. She was there to present the bridal bouquet and helped save some of our centerpieces for a wedding brunch the next morning. It was a pleasure to work with them!

The Flower Firm did a FABULOUS job on my 2÷16÷2013 wedding. Nancy worked with myself and my uncle to create a warm and sparkly winter wedding motif. Nancy personally delivered my bouquet and even waited around to show me the finished ceremony set-​up (which was stunning). The Flower Firm was extremely professional and worked with my budget to make my wedding day perfect. I cannot thank them enough. I highly recommend The Flower Firm to future brides and grooms!

I got married in Healdsburg, California two years ago and James and Colette and their great staff orchestrated an amazing day! I was the kind of bride who had a pretty good idea of what she wanted but wasn’t interested in the nitty gritty details… which is perfect for working with the Flower Firm since they are SO good at both the vision and the execution of it.
In advance of the big day I had sent the FF pictures and examples of the look and feel of the flowers and the vibe I was going for (Barn chic as I called it, nothing matching and lots of variety and color and textures). There really wasn’t too much back and forth… I trusted they knew what they were doing and were pros who could actually make whatever vision I had better than I could imagine.
Fast forward to the wedding day. Before the ceremony my bridesmaids and I went into the art gallery where the reception was going to be held. Walking into the room, with all of the flowers and amazing vases and it being EXACTLY what I wanted, it was amazing. Seeing the reception room for the first time was one of the highlights of my wedding day. I am dead serious. I was so thankful. I can’t begin to describe how happy I was (plus, I was marrying an amazing man, but this review isn’t about that!).
The flowers that the FF shipped in and arranged were beyond amazing. And FF didn’t just do the flowers, they also arranged lighting and acted as psuedo day-​of planners, whatever it took to make us happy. We got so many compliments on everything and even now I still think about those beautiful flowers and how much they added to an already wonderful day!

I totally just saw the Flower Firm delivery van cut off an ambulance near River West. The ambulance, whose sirens and lights were on and was going about 65, had to swerve to avoid hitting the Flower Firm van who thought it was more important to get to where he was going than to yield to an emergency vehicle. Very disrespectful. Wouldn’t ever order from here based solely on that…

I’m glad I didn’t pay attention to the Unilocal reviews when I decided to hire The Flower Firm for my October 2011 wedding. I would never have had the most beautiful flowers ever.
Not only did the flowers miraculously appear at the perfect time and to the right people, Colette personally delivered my bouquet which was such a thoughtful gesture.
The flowers were simple, elegant, and timeless. I only wish I was able to get married over and over again so I could pick out different arrangements.
Colette and her staff are fabulous at what they do. Leading up to the wedding, I never worried once about the flowers. Now the band on the other hand, that was a different story.

I worked mainly with Nancy for my wedding. She was great & easy to work with. I changed my mind a lot about the flowers after our initial consultation & flower mock-​up, so I wasn’t sure exactly how everything would look on the day. Everything was beatiful, but not totally how I understood it would be.
The bouquets for the mothers were smaller than the one for the flower girl, which made no sense. My bouquet was super tightly wrapped, and smaller than I thought it would be. The uplighting on the columns at my venue (River East Art Center) was supposed to be a rosey pink color, but they were just white light instead.
I would recommend. They do very, very beautiful work, we just had some communication issues, and that could have been partly my fault. The column lighting was a total mistake though, as it clearly said «rose colored uplighting» in my proposal.

They tried to contact me only AFTER a poor Unilocal review… That speaks for itself. I got married in 2009, so the 2010 comment on the owner’s part is telling. Don’t take your potential customers for granted. So let’s hope some 2011 reviews will show that they have improved since my review two years ago. A business can always try harder, and thereby get higher reviews. So good luck to you as well Flower Firm. And no, that’s not sarcastic. I sincerely hope they have learned how to be better and do better; however I worry that instead of listening and learning from their mistakes they are instead being defensive. … Just see these reviews as constructive criticism. We actually want you to succeed! More competition is better for the consumer!

I proudly stand by my one star review! Obviously Christine and the flower firm are clearly in the midst of a heavy PR push to try to sweep or discount the negative ratings they have about them under the rug. Christine says that I clearly don’t sugar coat my reviews, and she’s absolutely right. Unilocal is not a place where you go to read sugar coated reviews — you want the honest truth and experience from people that have dealt with the business or establishment. I was simply stating my experience with the flower firm and not to mention, my review was complimentary of their talent! I’m glad others have had more positive experiences and it is up to the Unilocal community to decide for themselves and weigh the positive reviews along with the negative ones! That is what Unilocal is all about and what makes it so great.

Disclaimer: I used The Flower Firm for my wedding in 2005. So this review is certainly out-​of-​date, but I have to assume they still sell, y’know, flowers.
So here’s the scene. My husband and I went into The Flower Firm for a consultation. Now you have to understand that he’s actually a big flower-​guy — he knows way more about them than I do. When the meeting began, it was obvious that the woman was talking to me only. After her initial thinly veiled shock when I announced that he would be taking the reins on the flowers, she immediately took him in and they talked shop. She was incredibly helpful, made great suggestions and stayed completely within our budget (even suggesting that we go without flowers on the chair-​backs to save us money).
She also saved us a bundle by suggesting that we use our centerpieces for the dining tables on pillars to line the aisle during the ceremony. After, they just picked ‘em up and transferred them to the table. What a great idea! I wish I remembered her name!
Day-​of was perfect, the flowers were exactly what we expected and we had no communication problems whatsoever. Our wedding photographer even used a picture he took of our flowers in his website portfolio. I’d call that a success!

Sorry to hear the other reviewers had negative experiences with The Flower Firm. I used them last year for my wedding and actually had wonderful experience. The only thing that annoyed me in the beginning was their initial proposal went over my budget ($ 3K) by quite a bit. However, in my follow-​up meeting with Nancy, we were able to make some tweaks to the plan and hit our budget almost exactly… while still having beautiful, stunning flowers for the wedding. Everything was delivered and set up on time. I loved loved loved my bouquet!

They do the arrangements at the Four Seasons on Michigan, which is how I found them. Modern, fresh, amazing arrangements. I’m using them for my wedding and they’ve come up with great ideas within my small budget.
