Let me tell you something — for the last month I was having the worst luck ever with my bike. Every week I was blowing a tube in either my front or rear wheel, and nothing I did seemed to fix it. Eventually I went in to get my wheels trued up and cleaned. Adam and Max were extremely helpful and got my bike running back at top speed. Well, not like, literal speed, but top shape. You get the idea.

I love this shop. I have two legs and eight bikes, all of which will be brought to The Bike Lane when they are ‘sick’. These guys are knowledgeable, reasonable, and experienced. They put down one of the best tune-​ups on my carbon road bike that I’ve ever ridden. Their turnaround time and communication throughout the process is phenomenal. Bypass those high falutin pro shops and trust these guys to get the job done from basic to complex.

Folks at The Bike Lane have always been helpful, honest, and speedy! I have come to The Bike Lane for a dozen flats, accessories, rack install, brake replacements, fender install, and (sadly) a bike crash estimate and have never been made feel bad for whatever stupid shit I did to my bike.
Their flat fix is probably the cheapest in town!

I went in there, telling them all my issues, dude just kind of nodded and didn’t write anything down. I paid $ 115 for a tune up plus new chain and they didn’t even fix the problems I went in there with. My gears STILL slip. I had to go back in twice because the handlebars were adjusted badly and they didnt put a part back on my bike. Plus, I went in there due to a flat tire and they «fixed» my flat 3 times, on the last blow out I got pissed and decided to just patch it. I found glass in the wheel. I’m pretty sure that was the continuous culprit, which should have been caught by the bike attendents. That patch has lasted me 13 000 times longer than any of the «fixed flats». AND, when they replaced the tube one time, they didn’t put the brake line back into quick release. If I hadn’t noticed that, I could have been seriously injured.
Just go to Blvd Bikes.

When I lived downtown this was my go to shop for ALL parts, tuneups, service, etc. I am totally surprised by the negative reviews on this shop because EVERY time I walk in the door I am greeted quickly, even if nobody is in the front one of the guys from the back take the time.
I’ve had multiple bikes through this shop for all different types of service and have always been properly charged and properly taken care of. Bottom line is that these guys are honest and understand a sense of urgency in the riding community. Downtime blows and they know it, and will get you back on quickly.
Now I live out in the suburbs and visiting several of the shops out here makes me really miss this place. For end of the year service and non emergency type repairs I will always continue to come to this shop. Awesome selection of bikes and parts, and better yet the crew actually helps you with anything you need. Keep it up guys!!!

Great place! Walked in knowing nothing, needing some issues resolved with the bike & they took care of everything.
Gave me the rundown of the situation with my options, listened to my feedback, made adjustments & got the work done in no time at all.
I’m no bike expert but I thought the prices I paid were very reasonable & I’ll definitely be back.

Put off riding my bike for over a year because I really don’t like dealing with the condescending staff at bike shops. Then I looked up this place and the reviews even mentioned how this was the opposite kind of place.
All I needed was a new chain, it was ridiculously cheap and quick. Though they could have done it in a couple minutes while I waited I had to leave right when I dropped it off — but they were sure to call me when it was ready to pick up.
Great place for repairs and they had a ton of stock. I’ll be returning, that’s for sure!

Ive been coming here for a while and spent over a few grand in the past year alone. At first it was cool but as of lately they’ve had horrible service from not putting on tires right to damaged parts and even my last leader frame somehow broke even though it had a warranty they still made me pay to swap all my parts out on the new frame smh and even after i spend tons of money and bring my friends in for service and to buy bikes the guys still act like bike snobs. Only good thing is the location from here on out im going to Smart Bikes a real bike shop.

Stopped in today to get a flat fixed, it was my rear tire and I’m not totally comfortable changing that on my own yet. Anyways, I searched for a local bike shop and found this place. So glad I came here! I walked in with a flat and walked out 10 minutes later ready to go– so quick! And only $ 10 for the inner tube + labor!
BUT, it gets better… my tire frame was in rough shape from having hit a pot hole I think and the guy at the shop suggested I buy a new frame. I didn’t want to spend the money on the spot like that an asked if he could repair the frame best he could and I’d come back another time soon for a new frame. He wasn’t pushy or «sales-man’ish» towards me at all, it was so great that he respected my decision and didn’t try to keep selling me the frame. He fixed the frame best he could and I was on my way.
Sadly it didn’t work, I got a couple blocks up and the tire went flat again, so I walked back to the shop hoping he’d still help me and he did! Bought a new frame, he switched it out for me and got me a fresh inner tube too in under 15 min and only charged me for the frame! Awesome sauce for this lady on a budget.
Wish that was the end, but when I left the bike still rode funky so I went back in and explained to him what I was feeling the bike doing. He stopped what he was doing, checked out the bike and found my front tire just ended more air. So he filled me up, no charge and sent me on my way. Finally I was riding smoothly :)

I came here to get a front basket and back brakes. I left feeling insulted. One of the guys that works in the back said my brand new bike is cheap and therefore harder and more expensive to put brakes in. Thanks for your condescending words. I’ll take my money elsewhere.

0 stars. Service is horrible. These guys are horrible. They purposely damage other parts of your bike while «repairing» the original issue only so they can charge you more. Then after riding the death trap and bringing the bike back, they claim its your issue and they can charge you more to fix. The guys who works there are rude, liars, and egotistical. Better to save you time and money and go elsewhere!

Terrible, terrible service! Wanted to get my brakes fixed and then got overcharged. Seemed like he was helping by identifying another problem until he further damaged the bike and messed with the handle bars. As I was biking, the handles came completely off almost causing a horrific accident. I requested my money back, which he refused. Horrible staff! Never going to go back! Save yourself!

Great trusted bike shop, John help me out. I took my bike frame to John, didn’t really thought they were going to help me. I gave it a try had nothing to loose. John was extremely helpful, he ask me to give him a few days to find a better resolution towards my crack frame. Two weeks later I’m walking out with a new frame. Moral to the story, awesome bike shop, they know there stuff. They are authorized sellers unlike other bike shops. Must take your bike

Yo, this place is so helpful.
The dudes in labor are so nice and not condescending at all which is unfortunately so hard to find. The parts and labor is pretty cheap and they’re all really down to earth.
Highly recommend.

Love my local bike shop! Perfect size so they have lots of stuff but you still get individual attention/​service. I often stop in w/​o an appointment when I’m having minor issues with my bike and they fix it quickly on the spot. Most importantly, they charge a fair rate and I don’t feel like I’m getting ripped off. If you live in Logan Square it’s your best option!

Just bought an amazing Italian machine this week from these guys. I went to more than 10 shops before I found what I was looking for. Making a big purchase is always tough these guys treated me like gold and that’s why I eventually bought from them. I like to give my business to people I like so this was a really good fit!

This shop deserves six out of five stars… period. I discovered this place around two years ago and it is hands down my favorite bike shop. Two out of my three bikes have come from Bike Lane.
Jon and his team of mechanics are very knowledgeable and patient. They are never condescending to the clientele, which I definitely appreciate. So many bike shops across the U.S. are packed with mechanics that act like you are bothering them by patronizing their shop, not the case at Bike Lane.
The atmosphere is really friendly and despite the fact that the shop is usually very busy the staff will make time for you. I encourage you to try them out and see for your self. ;)

This is a great little bike shop right on Milwaukee.
The tread on my back tire was seriously ailing, and I called to see how long it would be for them to change it out. They said it usually takes no time at all. And they were true to their word. They got me in and out with a new tire within 20 minutes; it was great. A new tire with install was under 50 bucks. Not too bad.
They do custom bike builds, and the end results that I’ve seen have been pretty excellent. If I ever need a new bike, I would definitely come back here to check out my options.
They have a lot of great components and accessories for sale, and I will be stopping by again whenever I need something new.
