Tyler agreed to do my project in downtown condo. Project scope was to wire the condo for in-​ceiling speakers, install in-​ceiling speakers, setup home theatre and install control system. He pushed for Martin Loagn speakers as he is a dealer for those. However I was interested in Bowers & Wilkins speakers and I let him know that. There was a leak in my condo for which ceiling needed to cut open. I called Ryan, he came the next day to run the speaker wires as it is easier to tun those once the ceiling is open. It took him hardly an hour for which he charged $ 440. I paid him entire amount with the understanding that he will return to finish the job and I will pay any additional payment that would be required.
Once I have speakers ready to install, Tyler started ignoring my attempts to reach him. No response to emails or phone calls. Finally I had to threaten him via email with a lawsuit just to get his response. He called back, but refused to come and install my speakers. No legible explanation, issue is not the money. Only thing I can think of is I wanted to get the speakers that I like and not the ones recommended by him. I guess he already got a lot more money for the time he spent and not going to make any commission by selling the speakers. (btw, I already paid him $ 100 on top of $ 440 when he came for initial inspection that he said he will deduct if we go through the project)
I had to get another installer, pay him again for the work which was already done by Tyler as we could not find the wires installed by Tyler. Tyler’s refusal to honor his commitment to complete the project not only cost me ($ 550 for 1 hr job) money but also time. I will not recommend him for any job as he did not complete the project as agreed and he disrespected his client by ignoring client’s attempts to reach him.

He was also able to utilize the equipment we already had where other installers could not which saved us a considerable amount of money. I’d highly recommend SilverGate to anyone looking for an install. It doesn’t hurt that he’s funny as hell too!
