Silver IP Communications

Moved to Silver IP from AT&T two weeks ago and upset I didn’t do so sooner! Download and upload speeds are 3x and 6x faster respectively, and for half of the cost. Installation service was impeccable and quick. However, I messed up during the initial installation and had the ethernet outlet installed in the wrong location. I contacted Silver IP about my mistake and they send out another tech the next day at no charge. I highly recommend switching to Silver IP if you can!

This third party project is a load of garbage. My cable is currently out, it’s a Friday night and they aren’t able to get me a service person until Sunday Afternoon. I am asking about what to do and the gentleman apologizes 10x. He has no idea what is going on at all and is of no help. The lack of communication even when I was setting up my cable and internet was deplorable, they had to come out 4x because they never provided any information. Ridiculous.

Our condo building just changed over to silver IP and it’s much faster and less money than our last provider. I called customer service to help me set it up with the transition and they had someone out in 2 hours which is incredible compared to normally waiting a few days with other companies. Very happy with my new service!

Just moved back into my condo — previously had AT&T for internet service. My building was wired for SilverIP Ethernet so went to their website and filled out a contact request at 8pm… literally got a call within 30minutes! He told me all about it and had a tech come over at 8:30 the next morning! It’s 9am and I’m all set up with their super fast internet connection! I recommend paying the year in advance, you get a discount :). I’m very happy so far!

Our condo bldg had a transformer outage that caused power to go out in our building. Silver IP immediately dispatched a svc technician to restore our internet service & even followed up with a call to say svc had been restored!

Silver IP has been absolutely amazing! I partnered with Silver IP and I have been blown away by their customer support and service. They are so different from every other internet provider out there because they actually care about their customers! I am so glad they have moved into the business space. Horrible customer service. I called because I was having trouble with my internet. My customer service rep was completely incompetent and knew nothing about computers/​routers. I asked to speak to the manager and she hung up on me. Stay away!

Silver IP has exceeded my expectations. I’ve had their support for a couple years now. They rarely have outages and the speeds are always reliable but their customer support is truly top notch.
Both Eli and Abraham have helped me out when I did have issues. They were both knowledgeable, courteous, and at my door within hours of calling.

This company provides a great product and superior service. No menus, no horrible «on-​hold music,» no long waits to talk to an irritable person in the Philippines. I know next to nothing about the workings of the internet, and they are always extremely patient and diligent at solving the problem, no matter how long it takes. I wish my building used them for TV service. If all consumer electronics companies followed their business model, the world would be a better place. They are a breath of fresh air!

This company provides amazing service and a smoothly-​operating internet service. What a pleasure to have an IP company that sends someone THE SAME DAY to fix modem/​connectivity problems instead of the endless «unplug this», «push this button for 30 seconds», «crawl under the desk to unplug that» instructions over the phone that other companies rely on. The employees I dealt with — Abraham, Robert, and James — were courteous, kind, and knowledgeable. Service just doesn’t get any better than this.

My building contracts with SilverIP for Internet access and TV service (provided through DirecTV).
Internet is incredibly reliable and fast; without a doubt the best residential ISP I have used in the Chicagoland area. TV is pretty standard DirecTV service, good picture quality, etc.
Customer service is excellent — they can be contacted on a local phone number, where people who are actually local solve your problems. I called them today about a problem I had with my DirecTV receiver; they sent a technician out the same day, within a few hours, to solve my problem.

I’m always impressed with every interaction. I will miss them when we move to the suburbs and have to go back to the terrible service providers I used to deal with.

I moved into a new condo, and I called SilverIP on Sunday to get the internet hooked up. They sent someone out that SAME DAY, again this was a Sunday, to get everything set up.
Abraham came out, right on time, and he got everything set up.
Both Abraham and the folks manning the call center were super helpful and knowledgeable about networking.
30Mbs down, 30Mbs up, for $ 30/​month. VERY happy so far.

Called them when DirectTV’s local provider kept delaying and delaying. I had set up internet/​tv via DirectTV a week prior to moving-​and they only installed the TV. No internet. Couldn’t get service. Called several times.
I called Silver and they were there in 30 minutes. Had service within two hours. Awesome people. If I were a building manager, I’d use them for TV and Internet.

Terrible customer service. They took our service down for maintenance without letting customers know. I recommended sending an email to their customers going forward and was told this would be too difficult. Really?

Our building recently switched from Access Media 3 to SilverIP for our DirecTV and internet service. The verdict is in — SilverIP rocks my socks.
Our building is an old timber warehouse converted to condos in 1997 — so the wiring is current as of 1997. Access Media 3, and other vendors, wanted to keep the old wiring and push top tier internet over these lines. Considering they couldn’t deliver more than 1Mbps downloads, their claim of 10 was questionable at best.
Enter SilverIP who told it like it was –the building infrastructure had to be scrapped if we were to prepare the building for the future. Of four vendors being considered, SilverIP had the most aggressive plan to rewire with RG6 coaxial cable and CAT6 network cable.
Their plan was to build the infrastructure correctly so there would be no problems. If only every contractor followed this motto.
They rewired the building for less than the other guys and used better cable (CAT6 instead of CAT5e).
We are only a few days in, but I’m able to get the bandwidth they promised. In our building that’s 20Mbps down and 20Mbps up. I may even upgrade to the ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ — because I can. The top tier for AM3 was 20Mbps down and 5Mbps up. With SilverIP I get better than that — included in my assessments.
The service has been great. After the building was rewired the owners spent four hours in the lobby answering questions. Let that sink in. The owners were there to talk face to face with residents. That’s classy.
Bottom line, our building has wiring that can handle 125Mbps download speeds. Now that’s future proof. The TV — well who cares because in a few years we’ll all be streaming it online. For now though, it’s a solid signal and no more 771 error codes.
I don’t know what else to say. SilverIP promised big, and they delivered.

I love SilverIP!
My condo building suffered through a 3-​year contract with Access Media 3 where they promised us 3Mbps/​1Mbps service, but more frequently delivered speeds ~1Mbps and frequently lower. It was terrible and every time I had to wait for several minutes to buffer a Youtube video, it made me want to cry. There was actual applause at our condo association meeting when the decision was made to dump AM3.
Enter SilverIP. They came in with an offer well below what we’d been paying AM3 for service, but also much faster. We signed up for 10Mbps down and up. A couple days ago, the switch was made. SilverIP didn’t need to enter any of our units and the switch was as seamless as possible. I went to bed with crappy AM3 service and woke up with (already working) SilverIP service!
On top of the super smooth transition, SilverIP has delivered beyond even the promised speeds. 10Mbps is more like a baseline with them. In fact, I’ve clocked my download speeds at closer to 45Mbps on occasion. I ended up upgrading my wireless router to an 802.11n unit because my trusty 802.11g router couldn’t handle the speed. Amazing!
I haven’t had to deal with customer service yet, so I am only rating them on speed so far. However, in that department, SilverIP has exceeded my expectations several times over. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to any condo association looking for some seriously fast (and well priced) internet service.
Technical note: I believe the actual connection to our building is fiber from Cogent, so it’s basically the same type of internet that gets wired to office buildings.
