I did my first Shred415 workout this past weekend via ClassPass. I’m relativity new to the city and needed to add some spice to my workouts and decided ClassPass was the way to go. I chose Shred415 mostly because of location(10 minute walk from my house) and class style, I wanted a HIIT and strength combined class. When I first arrived they gave me a brief tour of the studio and I introduced myself to the instructor as never done a class before(I was the only one). Overall the class was really really good, it was about 2⁄3 full and with all fitness levels. The strength portion will not build you giant muscles but does a good job at doing basic moves and at different varieties. The treadmill portions were great and had a good mix of inclines and sprints. The instructor calls out the timing for everything which, for me, makes the class fly by since you are not mentally calculating time in your head, you’re just doing. The only two cons I would say are that(1) sometimes its hard to see the instructor for the floor exercises depending on where they are in the room and(2) the floor is bizarrely slippery, I wish it had a bit more texture to it. Overall I burned about 700 calories in an hour and felt rightfully sore the rest of the day. With the convenience and structure this will be a regular in my routine.

If you are looking for a great workout at any level Shred 415 is definitely a great place to start. Now I am NOT saying it will be easy by any means but this workout will leave you feeling GREAT(and by great I mean sore as all hell) but you have a crazy amount of energy and I burned over 1000 calories! This didn’t get 5 stars from me because I am not much of a runner so the 2 stints on the treadmill were hard for me but I want to get better at running so I’ll have to suck that up. Other than that this place is very clean and brand new, convenient location, very nice instructors and an intense workout. I can’t ask for much more! I love how you can go at your own pace without feeling like the fat kid in class. They have validated parking in the Roosevelt garage so you don’t have to worry about finding a spot in this busy area. Next time I will try to push myself a little harder to get the most out of this class. Give 415 a try you won’t regret it!

I LOVE this studio and their classes! I like that the lighting is dimmed, it’s never the same workout twice and you can pick if you want to go on a day that targets arms/abs, legs/butt, total body, etc. I’ve attended classes when they are at full capacity as well as when there have been maybe 8 people. I HATE jam packed classes(they pack them in like sardines at CrossTown and Sweat at times), however here it’s really a non-issue(whew!). The instructors are all very friendly, motivating and will demonstrate the floor moves. Idk how they do it but they keep you on track whether you’re on the treads or the floor. The studio and bathrooms are always exceptionally clean(btw their bathroom is stocked w/shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, deoderant, brushes, q-tips, bobby pins, towels hair ties and tampons). If I ever cancelled my ClassPass, I would join here without a 2nd thought. Oh yes they offer free parking in the garage too

This place is amazing! They offer intense classes that will make you sweat like never before. Classes consist of 4 intervals of 15 minutes each on treadmills and floor bench work. You get a good mix of cardio and strength training. Such a great workout, I feel accomplished every time I leave this place.

This would be a five star but for the experience with parking here. It is ridiculous. It’s a one hour workout that frequently goes a bit over and the parking garage(which is ridiculously difficult to navigate, whoever designed this should be banished from chicago) validation is only good for 1.5 and there’s an obnoxiously slow elevator, so you wind up spending 12 $ on parking unless you hang out up top blocking traffic until a few minutes before class. It’s ridiculous and makes it hard to focus.

Great addition to the Roosevelt Collection and south loop. The classes go quickly and are challenging. Four 15-minute treadmill/floor intervals. I recommend starting off on the floor because you’ll be too exhausted after the run/sprint to give it your best on the floor. Couple reasons for the minus star: 1. Not all teachers are created equal! Sunny and Julie are excellent. Their motivating and their workouts are challenging and targets all the right muscles. But I had to leave BRITTANIE’S class early because she was absolutely terrible. First off, she started class late bc she was too busy socializing with the students, very inconsiderate of other people’s time. Also during the workout, she was talking so much(nonsense) and too fast with unclear instructions. I could see that others were confused as well. And her music choices were awful. She played alot of bad hip hop that wasn’t motivating enough for running. Wasted my money going to her class. 2. Shred 415 stands for four 15-minute intervals so why do some teachers do six 10-minute interals. Too much time spent changing and then trying to get back into the groove is tough. I swear, I’m not bitter! :) I just think if you’re spending your hard earned money, you should know the truth!

Great workout! I always leave the classes feeling strong and accomplished. My only complaint is the lighting. I have a visual impairment(night blindness). They really dim the lights for the classes and I have to say a silent prayer each time hoping I won’t fall off the treadmill. Definitely not into working out in the dark! Otherwise. Very nice facility, with clean showers too.

SHRED is AMAZEBALLS. I hate exercise of almost all forms, particularly running. There could be a grizzly bear chasing me down Michigan Avenue and I’m not sure I would be compelled to start running. So that should give you an idea of my fitness level(non-existent). I was a little worried that Shred would exceed my fitness capabilities, but that was not the case. Don’t get me wrong, the class isn’t easy, but it is easy to tailor all of the exercises to your specific abilities. Can’t run? Power walk on an incline. Can’t do regular burpees? Use the deck. Other pros: The music is AWESOME, instructors are all really great, and parking for the first 90 minutes is free. The only major con I can think of is the price. It’s freaking expensive. But, that hasn’t stopped me from coming back!

I love this place!!! What an awesome class I had with Kara today. She’s a great instructor and as a runner I really enjoyed the intensity and format of the class. The floor stuff kind of kicked my butt though. For an intense workout this is your place. I would love a membership here except I’m moving sadly. So sad to have discovered this so late in the game but glad my friend took me here. Get here!

Great clean neighborhood gym. Shred415 class is truly intense and will help you get in shape by the carefully planned 4 intervals of 15 min exercises. The non-cardio part/sequence maybe a little bit too fast but it does the job of toning the body. I like the fact that there are maximum students per class to avoid overcrowding. This location in particular is great because it has 90 min free parking. Definitely a gem!

I used to tell people that I would only run if I was running towards food or running away from danger… that was until I found Shred. It’s the perfect mix of cardio and strength training and it is HARD. The class is broken into 15 minute segments alternating between the treadmill and the floor using weights. I’ve taken 5 different instructors so far and all of them are great. The lights are dimmed so you can focus on your workout and the music is always spot on. I’ve been to a ton of studios in Chicago via ClassPass and this is by far one of the best studios I’ve found. It’ll push you to the max and then some. My only beef with Shred415 is that the individual classes and monthly memberships are so expensive!

For all the adrenaline gym rats this is your spot! Shred415 is 4 intervals of 15 minutes each on tredmills and floor bench work. You get a mix of cardio and lifting to tone and burn 1000’s of calories. The staff is AWESOME! They know just how to get you pumped and push you to your limits. The space is clean and organized. Most importantly the music is perfect. They have the best mixes to keep you moving and forgetting that you are working out. I have only been to the south loop location and can say the locker rooms are nice and they have cubbies in the studio as well to just keep a bag or wallet if needed. They have water refill stations and plenty of towels to wipe yourself down… and you will need it! For those thinking about parking they plan to start charging on entry to the southloop location but Shred will validate for a 90 minute free ticket. I advise anyone looking for a good burn and great way to lose weight to give this workout a try!

Shred 415 will work you out hard! The music is high energy hip hop and new pop! I can’t stand boring music at lame a** spin classes. I need hi energy and booty shaking for a high calorie burn workout like this. Its intervals of running/walking and weights. Oh and it’s dark which is even better so you don’t feel like anyone is looking at you. Any level can take this class… There is no pressure if you can’t get through a set. No judgements. Easy to book online and great instructors. Free parking and in a mall with fleet feet and lululemon and Victoria’s Secret… so you can take your fly body there afterwards to show it off!

The newest Shred415 in the Chicagoland area is GOREGOUS. So much space… and free parking? Hello, you can’t go wrong with that! The studio is well lit and really appealing. The front desk staff is always inviting and warm. The instructors… Melissa will get your booty into shape and her playlist is ahhmazing! Trish is always there to greet you with a smile(and her class is killer too!). The workout changes up every time, and the music changes up depending on who you are with and from week to week there may be a different playlist! You never know what you are going to get with your workout but you DEFINITELY can expect an intense sweat session with high energy and a major calorie burn(seriously I’ve burned 700 – 900 calories in 60 minutes, and I’ve seen others burn 1500!!). I’m not a runner but this class has improved my mile time by nearly 4 minutes… and I’ve definitely seen results with toning and muscle strength as well THEYHAVELOCKERSANDSHOWERS! Amenities are all there… towels, soap, shampoo, hair dryers, lotions! This studio is hands down my favorite of all of them… get in there while you can(before the secret of how amazing and spacey it is gets out!)

Let me start off by saying how much treadmills scared the bejesus outta me… was a little scared to try Shred at first mainly for that reason. but I got over that once I came to Shred! The classes are amazing you go through 4 fifteen minute circuits. 2 sets on the floor, 2 sets on the treadmills and each day is focused on different types of workouts i.e. Arms & Abs, Butt & Legs or Total Body. The classes are great for all levels especially when it comes to hitting the treads bc you take your speed to what feels comfortable but also to a speed that is challenging. The instructors are awesome and super motivating.(Melissa, Trish, Cole & Gideon are my favs!!!) they also dim down the lights so you can focus on your own workout and less on what others are doing in class. Great amenities at the studio! They offer kid care and have showers in the locker rooms as well. Also free parking in the Roosevelt Collection garage.
