I never met a doctor who cares less about their patients.
I discovered a small lump under my arm and didn’t think much of it, but when after less then two days it quadrupled in size, I got seriously scared. Those of you who had been there know just how it feels. I called my Dr. Sheila Bhagavan, whom was very friendly when I saw her for scheduled in advanced physicals.
I got the answering machine that stated that there were «walk-​in hours» in the morning and I ran out of the house and drove there as fast as I could. I called the answering service ahead, to let them know I was on my way with an emergency.
When I arrived, I had just missed their «walk-​in» hours. The receptionist asked all 4 doctors in that practice if they were willing to fit me in. I made it clear that I was willing to wait however long it took. But it was Friday and none of them wanted to make their day any more complicated than it had to be. After 45 minutes in the waiting room, the office manager brought me into her office and told me that nobody would see me until next week. When I told her about my situation, she suggested that I go the Emergency Room at North Western instead. Then she gave me another «great’ advice, she specifically advised me to avoid any Urgent Care facilities.
I decided to not waste any more time and went to Immediate MD, (just 5 min away) the doctor there made a quick assessment of my lump and put me at ease right way, when he identified the issue as a bacterial infraction. A quick test confirmed it. They drained the obsess and prescribed antibiotics — in a few days I was as good as new.
Dr. Sheila Bhagavan never bothered to call me since my unfortunate visit September 19^th, 2014. Last Friday October 17^th I received a letter from her office FINALLY following up and suggesting I make an appointment. This practice of so-​called doctors are in the wrong business. They do great with people who are healthy and they are wonderful at annual check-​ups, but they have no business treating those who actually need a doctor. They lack diligence and compassion.

Dr. Bhagavan is amazing. She’s thorough and really cares about me and i can tell with the questions she asks and the quality time she spends with me. The only issue is that she might be too good and everyone wants to see her so it’s sometimes hard to get an appt with her unless you’re booking way out in advance. I don’t want to share her awesome dr. powers with others, but she deserves a great review.

Two years and counting I have stayed with Dr. B. One reviewer said it best when she said that she didn’t want to post because she didn’t want to have trouble getting in to see Dr. B. I agree with this and also that Dr. B. is too good not to share.

Not at all surprised by these ratings. I’ve sent tens of friends to Dr. Bhagavan through the last few years. She’s professional, easy to talk to and is incredibly thorough. Everyone I’ve sent there has been equally impressed!

Naturally, I hate going to the doctor (or hated I should say) but all that has changed since I found Dr. Bhagavan. She is such a good listener, always remembers things I tell her and totally knows her stuff.
I feel like if I had some weird rare disease, she would figure out what it is instead of telling me to drink fluids and send me on my way. I think that even if I move out of state I would fly back to Chicago just to keep Dr. Bhagavan as my doctor.
I was tempted to be selfish and not write this review so everyone doesn’t start booking her up and cramping in on the currently relaxed and non-​rushed appointments but she’s too good to keep a secret.
Oh, and evceryone in the office is super nice too. It’s surprising how many offices have people working there who are rude and completely unhelpful. Not here. Quality practice all around.

I love Dr. B. She’s the best! Every time I go to see her, I feel like I’m her only patient. She takes as much time as I need. She never rushs me and she LISTENS to what I’m telling her. Even though she takes her time, she has never kept me waiting very long, which is another plus.
I also like the fact that she doesn’t jump straight to medications for every little problem. She is open to alternative ways of dealing with certain ailments.
Downfalls: Her working hours aren’t that great for some one who works 9 – 5 but her office does open at 8am.
