Schlep

We needed a queen bed moved from an oak park townhouse to a lincoln park 3^rd floor apartment. (I was having a problem filling request online from my phone and one of the employees actually called me back and arranged everything from one call.)
They were so helpful and loved the communication the day of move as to who was coming and when they would be arriving… the 2 guys that showed up were professional and did the move up the 3 flights with ease and that wasn’t an easy!.. I plan on using them for all my moving needs in the future. 5 stars!!!

Kyle, Maurice and Eric did a fantastic job moving my worldly belongings. Everything survived the journey in perfect condition thanks to their careful blanket and shrink wrapping. Great experience and deserve every one of the five stars!!!

Fernando and Maurice moved three large, heavy furniture items for us from two different locations up a flight of stairs on the coldest winter day (thus far) in Chicago. I can’t imagine two better movers — they were efficient, friendly, knowledgeable, and very careful with our items. Even though they encountered a great difficulty on the way over with our furniture — a dead vehicle battery that had to be replaced! — they were apologetic about the delay and incredibly good-​natured and positive. We would request them again any time we have furniture to be moved.

We used their services to pick up a new credenza and deliver it to our house.
Their website is easy to use and to my surprise we could book with a mere 24 hours notice!
The responsiveness and communication is great — that evening I had a quote, confirmation, and a photo of my Schlepper.
My husband met him at the store to help with the move and it was quick and simple!
Our Schlepper Josue was very quick, efficient, and friendly!
We will be using this again and referring friends.

We have a baby showing up any day to claim what’s currently our upstairs guest room. I needed to move everything out of the guest room to make room for the crib and other stuff that’s on the way. It wasn’t quite enough stuff to hire movers, but more than we (and by we I mean my husband) could handle on our own. Fortunately I had heard about schlep it for just this type of task.
Booking the schleppers was easy peasy. I reserved online, included what I needed moved and where and heard back with a quote within a few hours. For moving 5ish pieces of furniture (some of it to my basement and other pieces to my nannys house in Skokie) it came to $ 170 total for 2 schleppers. Done and done. They even threw in a coffee of my choice (latte for those curious).
A few days before the move I received an email letting me know my schleppers (Fernando and Eric) would be there on Friday morning at 830am as requested. The email even included their pics, which is nice to know who’s coming to your house. On Friday morning they texted me they were running 10 min late, but were there by 840am (with a latte in hand). They were vey friendly and got right to work– loading up their 2 pick up trucks. By 930am they were on their way to drop everything off in Skokie and my nanny said the drop off went well as well. Payment was even easy since they just emailed me an invoice a few hours after they left.
I’ll definitely use them for similar types of moves in the future — most likely next summer when I redo my basement.

Schlep moved my family’s armoire safely, so we’ve also trusted them with a ping pong table, a couch, and a bed. They’re easy to use and fantastic guys!

The price was very fair considering the distance! Josue and Fernando were pleasant, on time and highly professional. They wrapped the furniture so securely– so much so that I almost wish I had bought higher end stuff to justify the care they took.
They even brought me an iced coffee– an answer I provided to a random question on their questionnaire. What a nice touch! I had skipped my morning dose and would’ve had a major caffeine headache had it not been for this kind gesture. I would not hesitate to use them again. The guy we bought our furniture from must have been equally impressed because he asked for their business card. Maybe a Facebook presence would help spread the word? I didn’t even know about this great service until a few weeks ago. I will make sure to tell others who are in need of a schlep.

I had a great experience using Schlep. I requested a Schlep on Saturday night and they were able to show up on Sunday. I received an email with a picture of the movers so I would know who to expect. The movers were kind and professional. I would highly recommend using Schlep!

Second time using them and I could not be happier!!! They are life savers and so nice to work with. Prices are super fair and they brought me coffee and offered me a free ride back to my apartment after dropping off my things in storage.

I had a great experience this morning with Schlep. I needed to move parts of an antique bed from my condo in River North to my sister’s condo in Ukrainian Village and had neither a truck nor a healthy husband to help me transport it (he just had back surgery). Fernando helped me quickly load the bed into his truck and then unloaded the bed at my sister’s place and offered to put it together. The service was easy to schedule and pay for. Great company! Will definitely use again for short and small moves.

Just used this service for the first time earlier today. Highly recommend Schlep to anyone who has just a few things that need to be moved. My Schlepers were super professional, and arrived earlier than I expected, which definitely wasn’t a bad thing.
Apparently the section on their online form about coffee is for real, they will bring you coffee the way you like it (if you bother to fill that in).
I was definitely nervous about using this service at first because I needed both a futon and a bed moved, but the two Schlepers who worked with me today managed it way better than I would have. Definitely would use this service again if need be.

I had a dresser and large mirror moved with schlep back in April, and could not be happier with the experience.
It was a little more expensive than the competition, but I have seen some incredibly sketchy experiences with Dolly, so I decided not to chance it.
So happy I went with schlep and didn’t try to cheap out. You get what you pay for!

Smart, efficient, and fast service! I bought an item off craigslist that I needed to be picked up and moved. I got a quote super fast and the move was even faster. I will absolutely use this service again for any small move. Also, the price for the move was very reasonable. I highly recommend Schlep!

Aaron and the team really came through for me when I had quite the dilemma. They solved the problem efficiently and effectively, and helped me move a desk and bookcase into my condo. The Schlepers, Johnny and Josue were professional, courteous and fast. They took great care of my furniture and presto… they were on their way. I needed to have 2 pieces of new furniture delivered to my home and used Schlep. What a GREAT EXPERIENCE!
I filled out the easy online form, received support quickly when needed, and was sent a timely confirmation. And my Schelpper, Steve, was just amazing. Not only did he take great care of my new furniture (wrapping it in blankets and transporting it securely in his truck to prevent it from sliding around), but he was friendly and a great guy to chat with as we moved in my pieces.
And Schelp’s policy of bringing you a cup of coffee, a simple and wonderful kindness. Schlep is now my go to service for moving about furniture. I’ve already recommended them to 2 furniture stores.

A few months back my husband and I moved a king size mattress by ourselves. We rented a truck, ordered the dolly, etc… and it was quite possibly one of the worst experiences of my life. So when a friend offered us a free refrigerator for our new home, I was hesitant to do another large item move by ourselves. Until I heard about Schlep. They were so easy to work with, and even responded to emails during off hours (which was great for me since I can’t always coordinate during regular work hours).
The guys who showed up were really friendly. They were running a few minutes behind and texted me with plenty of notice to let me know they were stuck in traffic. The move was seamless and quick — I literally scheduled it over my lunch break and was back at the office within the hour. It took little to no time for them to load and unload. I have told many people about the service, and am calling them again for another job this week. Highly recommended, will not disappoint!

I almost used task rabbit but thought that a company with such a great name as Schlep, it was worth a shot. Seriously, two of the nicest, most helpful guys arrived on time to move furniture in my house. The went above and beyond what I expected, as the job turned out to be much more complicated than expected.
I will now be a loyal customer and advocate.

Yes, that is how good they are, even though it is hard to believe, given most furniture moving experiences.
When a move is confirmed, Schlep It sends photos of the men who will be moving your furniture so you feel safe about the men who are coming into your home. They are punctual! They contact you shortly before arrival. They speak English! They are well-​mannered, gracious, refined. They have engaging personalities. They are personally well-​groomed. Their clothes are totally clean and pressed, if the garment requires. And, importantly, they protect with full coverings and take great care with your furniture as well as the door jams, walls, etc. in your home.
I have hired them twice. The first time to pick up and deliver two dressers from Evanston to Chicago. The Schleppers placed the dressers exactly where I asked them. They also, without any hesitation, performed the favor of moving my sofa. After 30 minutes after they left, I decided I wanted the dresser locations reversed. I called. They returned and reversed their placement with no, absolutely no complaints or negative comments.
The second time was to pick up a love seat in Morton Grove and deliver it to me in Chicago. Again, I could not ask for any improvements in their service and I am a picky person.

I have moved around the city a lot — and always hate dealing with U-​Hauls, finding friends to help me move heavy pieces of furniture, and dealing with the stress and anxiety of it all! When my husband and I finally bought a house this past year, we began looking for new furniture to fill the space. A friend kindly offered up a king size bed, armoire, and dresser — which of course we jumped on. The only problem — we did want to rent a U-​Haul and find friends willing to help move such big/​heavy pieces let alone travel to Evanston and back downtown to pick up the furniture. Schelp was the PERFECT solution!
Schelp was awesome! They not only drove to Evanston to pick up the pieces of furniture, but then drove them all down to our house and helped us move them into our home. When one piece of the furniture did not fit through our doorway (I forgot to measure –oops) they even offered to Schelp the piece somewhere else for us! I ended up calling a friend who wanted the piece and Schelp took it right over! Talk about a HUGE problem solver!
They were incredibly professional, courteous, friendly, reliable and affordable. I would highly recommend them! I am going to be using them again next week to move a couch out of my house — they are great!

Big fan of Schlep! I used them to deliver custom cut reclaimed wood for a DIY project. The shop didn’t offer delivery services, so initially I thought I was going to be stuck using the much dreaded U-​Haul. Schlep turned out to be a big saver, headache wise and financially. It’s easy to use and easy on the pockets!
I’ve actually always been pretty limited to the items that I’ve purchased — the store would have to offer delivery service or I’d have to buy it online. So when you like eclectic furniture like me and everything has to be one-​of-​a-​kind it’s actually impossible to shop because you can’t get reclaimed furniture (i.e. Craigslist) or local shops to deliver to you. So for me this is a whole new window of opportunity to shop and actually not break the bank :)
Definitely plan on using Schlep time and time again in the future.
