We had a death in the family!
We had to vacate our oldest member from her apartment in a short amount of time and I literally called 30 movers. These guys will be #1 on my list ALWAYS.
1. The lady who answered the phones was not only nice but direct and comforting
2. We needed to move a specialty mattress and the daughter and grand daughter was stressed out about the move after losing their mom /​grandmother. And Crescent did it so well! They not only moved everything smoothly but made it an easy transition and were kind the daughter and grand daughter (my sister and niece)
though from Chicago I live in Dallas as I type this and I had to have this done 1000 miles away. THANK YOU Crescent movers for making a rough situation which involved a lot of emotion doable attainable and pleasant

These guys are a maaaay zing. they came on time, finished the move in just three hours and were very courteous and efficient. This was hands down the best moving co. that I have ever used. I cannot recommend them enough.

Very pleased with Crescent Movers. I had a very urgent moving situation that occurred on the last day of August, arguably the busiest day for movers. I called over 10 movers in the area — Crescent is one of the few that responded and they graciously discounted the price since it was only one piece of furniture.
Movers arrived within the hour to disassemble a Macy’s couch and re-​assembled it in my new apartment. They were very professional and courteous. Flawless move!

johnny and Josue are excellent movers ! They were able to finish moving our staff in less than 3 hrs. Very efficient movers.

I saw a few reviews about actual expenses coming in well above the estimate… I ended up paying 2x the estimate because of several additional hours and 8,000,000 linear feet of plastic wrap used on the job (is Crescent a plastic wrap manufacturer masquerading as a moving company?). I would have been charged even more had I not emptied ¹⁄₃ of the truck myself since I was way past my move-​in time at the building. I was working way harder than the slackers they sent me.
Pay 2x and unload your own stuff? What’s not to like?

I moved almost a year ago but just saw a Crescent truck and remembered I didn’t review them yet! There were three men (Tony and his crew) who helped me move into my one-​bedroom apartment in the Southloop. The guys were incredibly efficient and they knew I was being charged by the hour so they worked quickly. Overall I was very happy with Crescent Movers and would recommend them highly.

I finally got my internet !! These guys are the BEST! I moved June 2^nd from 2^nd flr to 2^nd Flr. and had over 80 boxes 5 rooms of furniture too. Not only did they beat the quote but they were super fast !! The guys would tap the storage container together 6 at a time and carry on their back. Load up four or morer boxes with straps on their back and haul ass…
The final cost was less than $ 500 I tipped them well too. RAY, RICARDO, and NATE the best team ever and I have moved 3x time in the past 10yrs this is the VERY BEST Chicago experience ever!
Dont hesitate to call them or email for an estimate — when I confirmed to inquiry about my mounted TV and glass tables they told me not to pack this they would take care of it. I highly recommend them…

I had to move a one bedroom and got quotes from 10+ places, and they def charge the least. I do have a complaint that they have a 3 hour minimum instead of the usual 2 hours at all other places. Therefore even though my move ended up taking less than even 2 hours, I was charged for all 3 and another hour of traveling fee.
The moving experience itself was good. They arrived early and were accommodating when we had a little issue with the loading dock. The guys were very fast and efficient, and all of my stuff arrived intact. So even though I ended up paying more than necessary thanks to the high minimum at least everything was done stress free.

The move may have not gone exactly as I planned in certain areas. But what I do appreciate most is the management teams diligence and getting in touch with me to resolve the issue after I had expressed a concern. And for that thank you.

These guys were awesome from customer service to the crew that moved the items. Highly highly recommend! Oh they showed up a half hour early, who’s early in the service industry these days?

Crescent Movers was an OK experience but had enough flaws that I won’t be coming back.
Let’s start with the good: Crescent Movers were very fast (1.5 hours) and arrived only 20 minutes after the start time, which I don’t think is that late for a moving company.
On the downside, I was charged for a full three hours of moving, double what it ook. This is because Crescent Movers insisted on setting me up for a minimum of three hours based on my apartment (moving to a third floor walkup, though from a first floor. Although I assured them I had very very few possessions and would not need that much time, they insisted on booking a 3-​hour time slot. Thus I ended up paying, after tip, almost 500 $ for less than 2 hours of work. That’s pretty insane.
In addition, the movers were pretty careless unless you specifically emphasized BE CAREFUL with a particular item. They were pretty careless for instance and ruined my girlfriend’s purse because they feel the need to tape every single object in sight up with movers tape. Another 200 $ down the drain.
To summarize, the movers themselves were very hardworking, but also careless and the company will make sure to get every dime they can from you so I’d recommend going somewhere else.

I used Crescent for my office move on March 23. The estimate was 3 hours for two movers. They were spot on. The movers were on time, careful, and so helpful. I was delighted with the quality and attentiveness. It was stressful but the guys made it much easier on us! Thank you.

I moved recently and went with Crescent Movers based on a referral from a friend. This is the first time I used movers and I didn’t really know what to expect as far as cost and the actual day of the move. I started asking around and their rate is VERY competitive, don’t waste your time getting quotes from other places, they are the cheapest and best quality.
I had all my stuff packed up and ready to go, the whole move took 3 hours and cost was exactly how much I was quoted. Everything was moved quickly and with care, nothing was damaged. Customer service was really flexible too, gave me options when I called in and worked with my budget. I highly recommend this company and will be using them in the future.

THESE GENTLEMEN ARE AMAZING. They were so good at helping us to move from one third floor walk up apartment to another. They are incredibly strong and careful with heavy things. HUMAN ANTS — able to lift objects 50x their body weight — or so it would seem to a small, boney armed woman. One man, just one man, picked up my sofa and carried it down three flights of stairs — ALONE — it took three people to get it up there. He just hoisted it over his head and started walking. My mind was blown by these talented gentlemen. None of my fragile antiques were damaged and they worked hard for the entire time that they were on the clock.

Fast, timely (in fact — early!), efficient, and careful — these guys were pros. Easy to book, and communicative before and during the move. For a 2bd/​2ba, they sent three guys, and from packing to unpacking in the new place took about 3hrs (granted, I moved 3 blocks).
Under $ 500, you need to pay in cash (so keep that handy). The quote came out to just about the same as it ended up (add a few rolls of tape). If you want them to not charge you for tape, get your own and make sure you specify that they use it (otherwise they may not).
Only complaint is that they disassembled a lot of my furniture to move (bookshelf, desk), and didn’t put it back together. I managed to figure it out myself, and I guess it saved me their labor charge of doing it, but I’ve never had movers in the past disassemble furniture in order to move.

My lease was up so of course it was time to call Crescent Movers again. The girl I spoke to on the phone was really nice as were the movers. I have a decent amount of stuff so I was surprised they got the job done quicker than the time I was quoted! The only thing I would suggest if you are using this company is to book in advance if you can only move on a certain date because when I called a lot of their spots were already booked. I really like this moving company and will keep on using them as long as their service stays this good!

Not a great moving experience!
The quoting experience was okay. The woman was very helpful. She took note of everything that I needed to move i.e. bed, dresser, couch, table, dining chairs, T.V. credenza, and boxes. I was told that it should only take two professional movers 3hours to move my 1bedroom only three blocks down the street. I said maybe adding another mover just to get the job done faster, but I was reassured that 2 would be just enough.
They day of my move came. I had already boxed up my entire apartment, so all the movers had to do was disassemble my bed and table and get everything on the truck. The two movers got to my apartment, assessed my things, and started the process. They seemed nice and were good at making sure my bed and couch were wrapped properly.
Then they started talking about me in Spanish! I am all for speaking different languages. I can speak 3 pretty well, but don’t assume that the person you are moving can’t understand you. NOT PROFESSIONAL at all! They were saying how they need two beers which was repeated many times and then looked at me funny after I laughed when one said a joke. I guess they assumed that I couldn’t understand them… It was very rude. I was expecting a higher level of professionalism like I was promised in my quote.
The moved seemed to be going smoothly but then I realized that we were 2 hours in and we haven’t left my apartment yet! I started freaking out, because this was only supposed to take 3 hours. When we got to my new building the moving truck hit the ComEd wires, which now has caused them to sag. I ran out yelling at the movers to Stop! yelling, «Alto», because I didn’t want the truck to cause wires to fall. The driver just laughed and gave me the thumbs up sign… I don’t know if he was mocking me or actually knew he was hitting the wires.
In the end, it took 2 men to move my 1bed room 3 blocks over 4+ hours and since I was only quoted for 3hours I had to run to the bank to get more CASH, because that is all they would take. I was quoted $ 280 which I thought was a bargain. In reality I ended up paying $ 445!
It was such a stressful experience and for the money not worth it at all! I think next time I will just get my own truck and hire my brother and his friends to move me.
USE CRESCENT WITH CAUTION.

I moved from a storage facility to a 1-​BR apartment up three flights of stairs. Tony and Santiago showed up early and moved everything in 3 hours. Both were courteous and professional.
They took great care with my furniture and boxes so as to prevent scratches/​damages — wrapped and taped everything.
This is one of the cheapest estimates I received around this area and there are no hidden fees — EXCEPT you have to pay for every roll of tape they go through, which is $ 3 or so.
If you can request Tony and Santiago, I would highly recommend them!

I used Crescent for a long distance move from Chicago to DC. Overall, I think they did a spectacular job. No big complaints.
My day of pickup was freezing cold, and we were getting dumped with snow in Chicago. I thought for sure they would be late, but they were actually early! Fernando and Roy very quickly packed things up in their truck. They were careful with my belongings and very efficient. After everything was in my truck, they also helped me put some things in my car. Very nice and thoughtful!
My one small gripe is that when i was getting my quote, I was told that the truck that was picking up my items would be the same truck (and crew) that would be dropping off at my new home. Well, it wasn’t. And I learned this during the pick up. They moved my belongings into another truck, and sent another driver. Everything arrived just fine. However, I didn’t need the added stress of thinking some of my stuff would get lost along the way.
Also, Crescent is AGGRESSIVE about following up after they’ve quoted you. I told the woman that I needed a few days to get quotes from other movers and that I would call her back. In those few days, I received multiple follow up calls, voicemails and emails!
I found Crescent to be better priced than most other movers in the area.
