Sanaya Threading and Skin Care

Vena is the best out there. I have been seeing her for over 10 years. She knows how to work with thick eyebrows and never attempted to thin them out as other people tend to. I will never seen anyone else as I am very particular about who does my brows. I recommended all of my family, friends and people that I meet when I’m out! I can’t say enough about her. You should definitely try her. You will not be disappointed!

Not recommended for bikini waxes. room was small, not very clean, and it came out looking uneven. she also insisted on having the door open a crack which made me uncomfortable.

I visited Sanaya on the recommendation from a friend whos skin positively glows. She swears by the micro dermabrasion. There is a $ 39 groupon out so I thought I would try it. The salon is nothing fancy, They are not about frills here. They are about results! But it is clean and the lady is nice and very knowledgeable. My extremely sensitive skin was a little tender for the rest of the day but I swear that 24 hrs later I can see that the dullness is greatly reduced and my forehead looks a lot less like crêpe paper. I also had a moisturizing mask.
I would definitely go back!

I’ve never been here before but went there because I bought a grupon for a microdermabrasion session. I showed up and the Eastern European lady there asked me have I been there before I said no. Then she asked again have you been here before because you face is familiar. I was like no. Then to my annoyance she goes «oh, it must be your twin then». I was like what the hell so I jokingly said yeah must be because I’ve never set foot in this place before.
Then we got to the back room she asked me to lie down and goes out of the room and comes back and asked me again so have you been here before. I was more than ticked off this time so I told her look I already told you I’ve never been here before and I have no idea why you keep asking me the same thing over and over again. Then she was like oh, ok and she became somewhat friendlier and easier to deal with after that.
Anyway, then she puts some weird music on what sounded like an old broken down 70s cassette recorder. I kid you not because half way through the session I heard it making weird sounds and then stop.
As for the session it was okay. She used a few different tips for the session. The session itself was pretty short because she said it was introductory and she said she would do some extractions and a mask for 10 more bucks. I was like yeah, sure. So she did that and gave me some advice on how to take care of my skin the next few days, did a sales pitch and gave me some samples.
So overall it was an okay experience I just wouldn’t go there again.

Good at shaping brows and even better at fixing them. My right eyebrow was over-​threaded by another salon but the lady at Sanaya (didn’t catch her name) fixed it and made my brows look even better. Came in on a Saturday without an appointment and experienced no rashes after the threading too. Will be back!

I’ve been coming here consistently for 3 years to get my eyebrows threaded and am SO HAPPY with the services I’ve received! I seriously could not imagine going anywhere else. I am a client of Rani’s– She shapes my eyebrows perfectly every time and I’ve been getting compliments on my brows since I’ve been going to her. Amazing service. These ladies really know what they’re doing! I’ve never been disappointed with the quality of their work or the service I’ve received. I’ve been coming here to get my eyebrows threaded ever since I’ve moved to Chicago 4 years ago. I won’t go anywhere else in the city!

If it wasn’t a requirement to leave at least one star, I wouldn’t give a single star for this review! Just went to go get my eyebrows done with Veena, the only person who has been threading my eyebrows since high school. I had been growing my eyebrows out for about two months because of the result of the last eyebrow threading that she did on me. I figured she was just having an off day and I let it slide the first time. But today she COMPLETELY threaded the arch off of one of my eyebrows. Not only has she ruined my eyebrows the last three times I’ve been there but it seems as though the busier Veena gets, the more she try’s to pawn her clients off to the other women in the spa. I am so disappointed and have vowed to never ever set foot in Sanaya again. When I called Veena to tell her how upset I was, she repeated to me many times that she never takes hair off… I interjected and told her that the top of my eyebrow is completely red which means she MUST have taken hair off. It doesn’t just get red on its own. In the end, she offered me a damn eyebrow pencil to fix the problem! I told her that I ALREADY bought an eyebrow pencil before I even got back to my car! I am severely disappointed, again! I am a hairstylist in Chicago, my appearance plays a crucial role in my success… would you want to get your hair done by a stylist with disgusting eyebrows? Like I said, never stepping foot in there again!

Honestly, my eyebrows have been through so much. bad waxers and even worse threaders. I recently moved to chicago from california, and Im VERY picky about beauty places… I searched and searched and came across this place, and IM NOT DISAPPOINTED this place is good. RANI is the woman who did my eyebrows and shes super sweet and good. deff recommend this place! and if youre a student you get discounts!!!

This place is amazing. If you need to get your caterpillar eyebrows trimmed down to look like a beautiful lady again this is the place to do it.
There are a ton of options in the city but this place is cheap, quick, and really great at what they do. I was recommended by two friends and decided to suck it up and get my eyebrows threaded. The fact that threading costs only $ 11 versus the $ 25 for waxing at other places didn’t hurt either. Unless I move somewhere that this place is no longer easy for me to get to without a car I don’t think I’ll be making the switch to waxing or another salon ever.
Regardless of who does your eyebrows you walk out feeling like a whole new lady!

They do such a great job with eyebrow threading here! Veena has been doing my eyebrows for about 10 years now. She actually does my whole family’s eyebrows. She and Rani are the only people in Chicago that I trust. They’re quick, painless, and precise!

If you want guaranteed perfect eyebrows in ten minutes… this is the place for you. Rani is wonderfully skilled at this. I see women with all sorts of unruly brows walk in the salon and walk out looking like movie stars!
Rani’s also great at waxing. She does it quickly and somehow makes it into a relatively painless experience.

Veena is superb. She used to do my threading when I lived in Downers Grove. Ever since I moved to Chicago in 2006 I’ve been looking for a go-​to threader. When I found out from friends she had set up shop in Lakeview, I was thrilled. I’ve been going to see her ever since– there was one time where she was on vacation, and I was in an eyebrow crisis. I don’t remember the name of who took care of me that day, but I did get an eyebrow compliment from my Indian friend, and those girls know their eyebrows! So there are options when Veena isn’t available. They also validate parking!

With all the positive reviews, I’m quite disappointed with my experience. First, one eyebrow is noticeably different from the other. I didn’t notice until I got home, since she didn’t hand me a mirror to check the work after. Second, the woman was not friendly at all and somewhat rude. Her demeanor was so off-​putting and I felt like she was rushing me (which is why I didn’t notice my flawed brows), despite being the only person there. Anyway, it seemed like a nice little shop conveniently located to my apartment, but I was not thrilled with my experience. I’m not that mad about my uneven brows, but poor customers service is truly aggravating. I guess I’ll stick with the threading locations I know and love.

I heard nothing but good things about Sanaya for eyebrow threading so I decided to give it a shot. Needless to say I was extremely impressed. Veena is an eyebrow goddess! Since it was my first time she talked me through the whole process, and made me feel extremely comfortable. I will never go back to waxing, my eyebrows were so amazing that I felt like a celebrity afterwards. No joke.
$ 11 for threading is a great deal — plus they give you an eyebrow card, and the 9^th is free! Can’t beat that. I sincerely recommend this place to everyone… you won’t be disappointed.

I am choosy about beauty salons. It has to be CLEAN. This one definitely IS! :)
I went for eyebrow threading and women at the salon were very sweet and did a good job. I am looking forward for my upcoming visit for more treatments.

The woman who did my eyebrows wasn’t super chatty which I like. She did an excellent job.
They charge slightly more that other threading salons but that’s a-​okay. I love the fact that they have lots of cosmetics which you can look at while you wait.
Will definitely recommend this salon to my friends.

I’ve had my eyebrows done at Merle Norman (threaded) twice now and while they look great, something they are doing gives me a rash. An unsightly rash around my eyebrows that lasts about 3 or 4 days.
I’ve had this happen at only one other place. Not sure what’s going on, but I don’t like it. I have very sensitive skin, but I’ve also had my brows threaded at a few other places and not gotten a rash.
Soooo, those of you with sensitive skin; beware.
