I have lived above this place for 2+ years now and never wanted to come down because of their reviews. I didn’t have time to get to my normal nail place so I went out of necessity. This was the absolute worst no chip manicure I’ve ever gotten in my life. Not only did the nail tech do it in a very strange way(nail by nail, not hand by hand) but she forgot to put the top coat on 2 nails and I had to remind her. Regardless, it started chipping 2 days later. The nails that didn’t chip broke. I don’t do any crazy manual labor, and my no chips generally last 2 – 3 weeks at my regular place. This was horrible and I will never go back.

Who in their right mind would go to this rubix cube of a nail salon. It was my fault. I should have looked at this place thoroughly before I trekked myself over to this area. If you are anything over 6’0. Do not even approach this place. The place was packed when arrived. I asked the young lady…“What was the wait time?” She said«A little bit.» Then I said«Can I get an exact estimate? I could walk and get a coffee or something.» She did not say anything… BISCHBYE! I will take my $ 55 no chip mani/pedi to next one. Will not be going to this little hole in the wall no time soon.

It’s very bad nail salon. They let me to wait 15 minutes and the whole pedicure I didn’t enjoy, look like I’ve got I child to spit my nail

This salon has to be a cover-up for something dirty. Most of the technicians here are rude even by east coast standards. The woman that appears to be the ringleader of the operation is the worse. There is always a little 20 something client blabbing on her cell about something so juvenile and unnecessary, your ears start to bleed. Forget about catching up on your People magazines or enjoying the massage chair if you are getting the mani/pedi special. They choose to get you out as quickly as possible by doing both at the same time. You get to sit like a pretzel on the pedicure chair and stare at the 1990’s ghetto nail salon artwork or watch Incredible Hulk reruns on TV. When they are done chopping up your cuticles(and surrounding areas) and slopping nail polish over your nail beds(and surrounding areas), they have no shame in heating up a bowl of food, kicking off their shoes, and chowing down in the pedi chair next to you as if you no longer exist. I found a much better salon with excellent customer service around Clark and Barry. It’s worth the walk.

I went last minute because I needed a «pick me up» mani pedi. I was dissapointed. They rushed me. They did my feet and hands at the same time. I had to reach over for her to do my right arm on the left side of me. It was weird. I only went because it was right by my apartment. It was also packed– I’m not sure why. Next time I will probably just walk down Clark and find another place. I ended up taking the polish off my nails four days later and doing them myself.

This place just sucks. I live around the corner and have tried to like it, but it just sucks. I went in for a no-chip manicure and it looks like they were using mittens when they applied the gel. I won’t be back.

You know, I’m really just going to have to break down a list of what I had done today and rate each thing accordingly. 1. They’re open on Sundays! 10 am to 6 pm. * * * * * 2. Their massage chairs? Drool-worthy for sure! * * * * * 3. Price. $ 25 for a pedicure. Doesn’t include leg/foot massage. * * * 4. Leg/Foot massage. Excellent. But an additional $ 10⁄10 min. * * * 5. Pedicure. Not good. Sloppy paint job. * * 6. Ambiance. Okay. Not great, not terrible. * * * I didn’t have a terrible experience here. My massage was quite nice! However, I had to pay an extra $ 10 for it. The salon itself is nicely decorated and serene… but, really, really, really quiet. I guess if you’re needing some time to meditate or something, that’s fine but, to be honest, I like a salon to bustle a little, know what I mean? It just doesn’t feel quite like a salon if it’s so quiet you can hear a pin drop! The paint job on the pedicure wasn’t great. I have definitely seen worse but you know what? The paint on my big toe had a big, blobby drip that ran onto my skin. I mean, that’s kind of a no brainer, isn’t it? So I wasn’t thrilled. All in all, three stars.

I LOVE this place! I went after my usual place closed down and now I go every week! They know me by name and everyone there consistently does a good job. They have lots of OPI and Essie colors and will even order something I want if they don’t already have it. Plus the prices can’t be beat… Only $ 32 for a mani/pedi! I highly recommend this nail salon :-)

This is one of the worst nail salons. They don’t use any kind of cleanser in the water for your pedicure, the exfoliation and foot massage is lacking and the polish job sloppy. I left there with polish all around my nails(despite her pretend effort to remove the excess polish). The price is cheap but this truly fits the saying«you get what you pay for.» Think twice before going here.

Went here today for a mani/pedi, I was there with 2 other people. Overall we were all happy with the results. They were pretty nice and made a couple of helpful suggestions about the colors. Maybe the prices have gone down in the last couple years, it was only $ 32 for both services which is great. Only critique is that they seemed a bit understaffed, a few different people came in after us and they had to ask people to come back a few times because they were so busy. But if I’m in the area, I would definitely come back.

I like Elegant Nails on clark b/c the polish of my pedicure lasts forever. I just wish they did a better job at removing the«roughness» of my feet. Personally, I would go elsewhere for the manicure. But i am definitely a repeat customer for the pedicures b/c of how long they last! In terms of being«legal» or not… i have no clue. I’ve never had trouble in terms of cleanliness. The owner(I assume she’s the owner) has always been very nice to me and remembers me even after months of not visiting.

All salons like«Elegant Nails» 1– do they speak English? 2-are they wearing a mask? 3 –prices too good to be true? Ladies I have been in the business 14 yrs, those people are NOT licensed through the state. Even if they have them hanging on the wall it’s all BS. The credo blade to scrap your feet in Illegal in EVERY state, only a foot doctor can use such a tool. In the long run saving a few bucks clearly isn’t worth it. They also don’t use the proper chemical when they do acrylics. Theirs has MMA in it a chemical banned in the 70’s but can still be found especially if the state doesn’t regulate it. Report salons that use that blade on you to state board. Also you need to read and speak English to take the state board exam. Feel free to e-mail me if you want more info.

Skip this place even though it’s cheap — $ 40 for mani and pedi. The ladies here are rude and I doubt the equipment is clean. They are fast but the jobs are not well done. I’ve been cut before and have also felt pain through all my nails afterward. Aren’t you suppose to feel good after pampering yourself? The paint jobs are not great either. Don’t bother coming here unless you want to re-do your nails in a day.

This is a good cheapy nail place that usually has combination specials on manicures and pedicures. It gets busy sometimes because all the Lincoln Park locals come here to get their nails done but they work fast
