I enjoy Dr. Ringel, but the office staff surrounding and their practices of being efficient and doing their jobs correctly, I’d give zero starts if I could. On top of that, they aren’t even very apologetic.
I’m beyond frustrated! I’ve called Advocate’s call center to get a referral on numerous occasions and it doesn’t seem that some people are doing their jobs. I’ve been hung up on, transferred and put on hold for 10+mins, got to the doctor’s office that I was requesting the referral for and they didn’t get it or have gotten a phone call saying they didn’t get it.
Ivory Lopez, who is on the office manager at Dr. Ringel’s office, was very apologetic and did seem to want to rectify the situation on her staff’s side, as well as the call center. The reason there is a third star on this review. Hopefully going forward I won’t have problems because I really do enjoy Dr. Ringel as a primary care doctor.

He’s a very busy guy, maybe too busy, and will assume you’re well if you don’t speak up. He is a good doctor for a patient who isn’t passive. If you can steer your own ship, I’d recommend this doctor. If you need a navigator, maybe go elsewhere.

Dr. Paul Ringel is a very caring & thorough doctor. He makes you feel extremely comfortable and explains everything in layman’s terms. I had an x-​ray on Friday and he called on Saturday to let me know everything was fine. What a great Doctor!!!

He’s been my principal doctor for about a year now and I like him. He seems to have a genuine interest in my health. He is in a bit of a hurry all the time, but I guess that is just how doctors operate. I recommend.

Dr. Ringel has been my regular physician for almost 15 years now, and he is terrific! I was originally referred to him when, new to the city, I was experiencing recurring headaches and looking for a doctor. As an internist, he excels at diagnostics. Fortunately my headaches were nothing major and eventually subsided. Since then, I have seen Dr. Ringel twice yearly for regular checkups. I know doctors keep patient files, but he is always upbeat and quick to ask about my wife, baby, dogs, etc. He truly cares about you as more than just a patient. What’s more, Dr. Ringel always seems to earn the respect of his peers as well. Anyone looking for a terrific doctor should give him serious consideration.
