Dr. Abraham Shashoua is Director of Minimally Invasive and Robotic Gynecologic Surgery at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center. He is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is an Assistant Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Illinois. Dr. Shashoua has been a Castle Connolly Top Doctor from 2000 – 2011 and was featured in Chicago Magazine as a Chicago Top Doctor for Women in the January 2011 issue. In July, 2011, he was selected as a top doctor in US News and World Report.

Dr. Shashoua specializes in minimally invasive procedures and advanced laparoscopy for the management of chronic pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, and heavy menstrual bleeding. Dr. Shashoua was the first gynecologist in Chicago to perform robotic surgery in 2005. He performed the ffirst Single Incision Laparoscopic Hysterectomy in Chicagoland in 2008 and the first Single Incision Robotic Hysterectomy in 2009.
