Progressive Bronze is excited to help you with your premium metal refinishing, repair, restoration and manufacturing projects.

Our company has been in business since 1935, and our skilled craftsmen average more than 20 years of experience. We can machine, weld, spin, and polish bronze, brass, or aluminum with the best of ‘em.

We’re here to help. Do you have a metal project and you’re not sure where to start? We are available via phone from 7am — 3:30pm Monday thru Thursday, and 7am — 12:30pm on Fridays to answer your questions. You can also send us an email and we’ll get back to you within one business day.

We’re easy to work with. If you’d like your item repaired or refinished, just email us a couple of pictures and some rough dimensions. We’ll send you an estimate before you bring in or ship your stuff. If you’d like something custom made, let us know what you need and we will figure it out. And of course, we never begin work before a final quote is approved by you.

History

Established in 1935.

Progressive Bronze was founded in a Chicago basement in 1935 during the Great Depression. Originally, the firm’s focus was making items for the funeral industry. During WWII, the company manufactured submarine parts for the Navy since manufacturing of funeral items was restricted. After WWII, Progressive Bronze began making a variety of metal church appointments for the large number of churches being constructed throughout the United States. These items are still sold today under the highly respected brand name Excelsis (www​.excel​sis​prod​ucts​.com) and are exclusively available through our international dealer network.

In 2010, Progressive Bronze branched out to service non-​church clients in need of refinishing, restoration, repair, polishing or fabrication of household and architectural furnishings made of brass, bronze and a variety of other metals.
