I was recommended by my insurance agent and stopped by for an estimate. Very nice people, but when they tell you it will be ready in 3 days, you chuckle. Anybody whose dealt with Auto Body knows what I mean. Boy, was I wrong. Not only did they deliver, but they left the rear end on my car like new and in the time they promised! Excellent work and very professional. Hopefully you will never need them, but it’s great to know that Paul Ries Auto Body does great work. Highly recommended.

Great people to work with!
They fixed my girlfriends car, from a nasty crash, and left it looking better than new! Also, dealing with insurance was a breeze thanks to them. They took care of absolutely everything, and when I discovered a couple of flaws, they were happy to take the car back in right away to make them perfect.

I dropped my car off Monday morning, Frank & Joe greeted me and made me feel at home. They told me they’d phone when they were able to fully examine the car to give me an ETA. I got a call not too long after and they told me that one of the things Allstate said I needed for my car didn’t need to be replaced, I loved the honesty. I received email updates on the status of my car and was floored when it was ready Thursday morning instead of Friday night. Had a great experience from start to finish and I’d definitely come back, hopefully I won’t need to

Did a fantastic job repainting my bumper. Worked with my insurance and made the whole process very smooth. Had my car in the shop for 3 days and it came out looking new. I am extremely picky when it comes to imperfections — and the paint job looked amazing, like new! They were kind enough to take my car in on a Saturday just a few minutes before closing and had it done very quickly. It comes with a great warranty and their pricing is great. Gerber quoted me at twice the money that these guys did. Very happy my insurance agent recommended this place! :)
They also work with Enterprise so if you need a rental car, they pick you up from Paul Ries and you can drop the car back off with them as well. Thanks guys!

Unfortunately, but very fortunately I’ve had to use Paul Ries a number of times for body work as a result of other careless drivers. Everyone one has always been very good to work with. They help with the insurance end, rental cars, etc. Top Notch. I always recommend Joe Z and his shop. I only wish he’d give me frequent flier miles for all the times I’ve been to the shop!

This place is amazing in every way!
Friendly — honest service and reliable. They took pictures of internal damage that needed repairs to show me upfront the work they were going to need to do, along with a full explanation. They also kept me informed every step of the way of any issues that came up during repairs.
I will go back time and time again.

Completely unsatisfactory service. Paul Reis and Sons failed to successfully and completely fix our car on the first, second, and third time it was taken to them. We will be taking it back for a fourth time this week! Although Paul Ries and Sons are very friendly, we have wasted much time trying to get our car repaired. Please see below for full details:
* Car took 3 weeks to fix. And completion date pushed back multiple times. We do understand the weather played a factor in this.
* Returned first time for headlight not aligned correctly (light was on identifying issue) and spare pieces left in te car.
* Returned a second time because the windshield wiper fluid tank would not hold fluid.
* Returned a third time because car shook violently when driving above 45 mph, which Paul Ries and Sons stated was snow in the wheel wells.
* Set off on a weekend trip only to be heading out of Chicago and have the car violently shake upon reaching 45 mph. We had to turn around, switch cars (luckily we have two), and contact Paul Ries and Sons yet again.

With over $ 2800 damage on my Taurus, they were done and washed my car within a week after parts had arrived, they message/​email you images of the work progress so you can actually see the daily process. Service is great and the desk lady is very friendly, I Will come back again for any future damages, if any…, forget about the overly priced Gerber collision.

A Locally Owned Autobody Shop with Above Average Service.
Took my car here after it was sideswiped parked on Addison while I was in my apartment. They are a Nationwide preferred shop. We had some trouble with the Insurance company and they were on the phone non-​stop until they figured it out. The quote process was extremely easy and they wrote it up right there with me. I left the car with them that day and they called enterprise and had them pick me up. Also, Joe Z, the guy who helped me the first time I was in there, it turns out is the owner. Very freindly and very helpful.
When I got my car back it looked better than before, they fixed all the damage to the Side View Mirror, All the Damage to the door, but then also washed the entire car and detailed the inside. That was mindblowing to me, what a terrific added bonus.
Having to get your car fixed sucks, but getting it fixed here is the way to go. Great stuff.

If you’re wondering if this is good place to get your car fixed… This is THE place to get your car fixed. They take most insurance and they are on top of everything throughout the entire process. They even sent me pictures of the car while it was being repaired.
From the receptionist to the car repairman they were on top of everything! I had body work done and my car looked like new after the repairs. They also were so helpful and accommodating because one of the parts on my car was discontinued. They painted my bumper for no additional charge. Ed was the man and I appreciate all of his help in making this process so easy!

These guys were fantastic. Now granted, I wasn’t paying with my own money. I was hit in the momvertible (my mom’s car) and this was one of the shops in my zip code that State Farm approved. I took my girl Angie M’s advice and chose Paul Ries & Sons. I couldn’t be happier.
When I dropped the car off the gentleman at the shop drove me to my next destination. They finished the substantial body work in a week while I was on vacation and I picked her up looking better than new!

I’m not going to lie, I was a little leary of this place upon pulling up to it. The outside is not the most appealing, but WOW was my immediate impression wrong. These guys are awesome! I always worry that I’m going to be talked down to or ripped off when I go to get something «manly» done, being that I’m a girl. The staff here kept me informed throughout the entire process with calls AND photo updates! The price was very reasonable and the work done was beyond my expectations. My vehicle was finished 2 days early and cleaned to a T!
I will most certainly return here if I ever need more work done. I cannot say enough great things about Paul Ries & Sons! Thank you so much for providing quality work with excellent customer service.

My brand new toyota was hit on the street by a drunk driver and there was major body and alignment issues. So I was directed here through my insurance company. First it was 3 weeks they had my car. When I finally was able to pick it up there were two things wrong with it that I could see. The traction on the tires was off and lights were on in the car. They also didn’t put the correct side mirror on and it didn’t work. They then stated they would fix those issues and i got back in my car. I noticed the alignment was still off and they stated they fixed that twice. I also had a poorly done paint job where it wasn’t done right and places weren’t painted at all.
I then took it into toyota and they had to correct multiple things that were worked on. Its two months later and they’re are still issues they didn’t do correct. It’s not at another body shop and I found out that the brackets that are inside to hold the structure together were glued back together vs replacing them. Is just one more thing that wasn’t done correct the first time. This has been very frustrating and I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone. They clearly didn’t do anything correct on my car and had multiple times to correct the issues.

These guys are very professional and did the job when they said they’ll do. Also I found the price to be quite good as I had compared it to Tiger Body Shop on Lincoln. These guys did the job for about 35% less and it was done quite well. The only reason why I’m not giving it 5 stars is because there was some paint residue in the inside of the car which I had to clean. Also — the front tire had a big screw in it so by the time I got the car home it was totally flat. They told me that they’ll fix it but I was not going to drive it back or put on a spare. I took it to the local tire shop a block away and got it fixed so I was $ 15 short on that.
But these things happen and they are not a big deal. They did give me extra paint and thinner to touch up the car and the job they did was great. I had my back bumper fixed (it was scratched up really badly). Also my right door was jarred open by somebody and had my window broken. There was also a dent on the left loor that was fixed.
I would certainly recommend these guys but if you see that your tires are low on air when you’re picked up the car inspect it to make sure that you’re not going home with a screw in your tires.
I’d use them again.

After getting into a gnarly accident on Lincoln & Irving Park in Cubs traffic one night, I was forced to have my car towed to a body shop for repairs. The nice towing guy assured me that Paul Ries & Sons would accept my car insurance. Me, having no idea where a good body shop was in the city (I always took mine to a great place in the burbs), I agreed. I didn’t really have too much of a choice. I was distressed, I was dealing with a psychotic cab driver (who actually ended up getting handcuffed, ankle shackled, arrested and then thrown in the paddy wagon after she assaulted an officer) and I just wanted to get my poor, battered car out of the middle of Lincoln Avenue.
So off it went to Paul Ries & Sons.
You know how we all have those little dings and scratches we hope get repaired if we take our car in for body work? Well, I had a HUGE dent leftover from a run-​in with a pole while trying to park my car awhile back that I had never gotten fixed. Even though all my damage was on the front drivers’ side of the car, I was hopeful that maybe, just maybe, the boys at Paul Ries & Sons would fix the whole thing. We can all dream, right?
Well, Unilocalers. Dreams come true. When I went to pick up my car a week after the accident, it looked as good as new. And as I walked around the car to inspect the driver’s side work, I was overjoyed to find the old dent fixed too. I looked up at the guy from Paul Ries and he looked at me and gave me a sly wink of acknowledgement like, «Yeah. We knew that dent had nothing to do with your accident, but we fixed it anyway.» Sure, it’s sticking it to the insurance company, but hey, that’s what I pay outrageous premiums for, right?
In the end, I was thrilled with the work that was done to my little Cavalier. It looks great, runs great and looks (well, looked. It’s been a few months) all shiny and new. Thanks Paul Ries & Sons!

These people are incredibly awesome.
FYI — owning a Jeep Cherokee in the city means YOU WILL HAVE YOUR CATALYTIC CONVERTER STOLEN. Eventually. Apparently, it’s really easy to jack it from Jeeps.
Anyway, I dropped off Steezo (my car) here because it needed to be inspected by my insurance company for my pending claim.
Minutes after I popped into their surprisingly courteous, comfortable and clean front desk area, they had called around to find a replacement converter that wound up being UNDER my deductible, so I didn’t have to make a claim.
Steezo was ready one working day after I dropped it off (Friday to Monday) and, holy shit, they went WAY above and beyond.
Sure, they replaced the converter but they also washed it (it hadn’t been washed for months), cleaned the interior, detailed the dashboard, and patched-​up my front tires! No extra charge. I was speechless — it looked as close to new as I’d ever seen it. It was so nice of them. Highly recommended.
