History

Established in 2008.

Paradise 4 Paws opened its first location near Chicago’s O’Hare Airport in 2008, then in the spring of 2011 added a second location near Chicago’s Midway Airport, and a third location at Dallas /​Fort Worth International Airport in November of 2011.

Since opening in 2008, Paradise 4 Paws has received both local and national accolades, quickly proving itself as one of the top pet resorts in the country. Originally crafted within the classroom walls of Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, Founder and President of Paradise 4 Paws, Saq Nadeem, was inspired by a popular Japanese pet hotel situated near Narita International Airport. «As a consultant, I traveled frequently for work and was struck by the lack of suitable pet care options,» says Nadeem. «Paradise 4 Paws emerged as a solution to address this need for a pet hotel that caters to both pets and humans by providing quality care, convenience and a high level of service for pet parents.»

Mr. Saq Nadeem is the founder, President and CEO of Paradise 4 Paws. He is a certified dog trainer and pet care professional with business start-​up and marketing, sales, operational and accounting experience gleaned from working in his family business, as an auditor with Ernst & Young, and as a business strategy consultant with Diamond Consultants. Mr. Nadeem received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management in May 2005 where he was President of the Kellogg Student Association and served on committees that included CEOs of Boeing, Kraft, Motorola and United. He has been profiled and/​or quoted in Business Week, Crain’s Chicago and Kellogg (Kellogg’s alumni magazine). Saq also serves on the board of PAWS Chicago, Chicago’s largest no-​kill animal shelter. And he is the proud parent of two cats, Gucci and Versace, and Weimaraners, Vera and Miuccia.

I can’t say enough good things about this place! My dog was boarded here and was extremely well cared for and loved. I called every day to check on her and the staff knew right away who she was and what she had been doing all day, as well as how much she had eaten and slept.
I was also able to order some a la carte treats for her and a bath that included a nail trim. You also get this little report card with adorable photos that tells you how she was during play time or «class» and a few other things. After some horrible experiences boarding Lucy in Chicago in places that are too small with too many dogs, it was just so evident when she got home that she had had a lovely time and had been given expert care.

Great business that I can fully trust that they will properly take care of any and all needs of my French bulldog.
I am very thankful for this business because my business requires me to travel often and it really gives my wife and I great comfort when our dog stays with paradise for paws because they have a full staff of «animal loving» employees that can be trusted and truly care about the best interest of every animal they board.

Just picked my very tired dogs up from a long weekend at P4P. Both dogs are happy, which means I am too!
The staff here is always wonderful — so friendly and helpful, and know that some of us are just «those kind» of dog people. So when my dogs played tug of war and pulled apart one of the toys I’d sent with them (a stuffed animal) they made sure to leave it in a bag for me to see if I wanted to salvage it before throwing it away.
I always get a little nervous leaving my dogs anywhere (even at a friend’s house), but knowing they are well cared for and that I can check on the webcam if I need some reassurance makes all the difference in the world.
Before taking my dogs to P4P, we took our dogs to a place that shall remain nameless in Chicago Ridge. However, that place was booked one day so my sister in law found P4P and I’m so glad she did. The prices are comparable to what I paid elsewhere before, but now I won’t take my dogs anywhere else (in fact, I would rather change my plans than leave my dogs somewhere else!). I would recommend P4P to anyone looking to board their pets.

I love this place and Buddy my puppy loves it here. I dropped him off for the day and decided I am going to use paradise on a regular basis when I travel and have meetings in Chicago. The entire staff is great and it’s in a convenient location as well as easy to contact to check in and ask how the dog is doing.

Had to put our dog in here for 2.5 days due to a last minute trip out of town. In almost three years, he’d never been boarded once, so we were definitely concerned how he’d react. He also has Addison’s disease, which means stress is very dangerous to him, and he needs to take medication daily.
The registration process was long but understandably thorough, and everything went smoothly enough on that front. No issues at check-​in. Nice big area for the dogs to run around and play in. you can park your car there for less than it costs at the public lot, and includes round-​trip transportation to the terminal. I can’t comment on the webcams since I didn’t have time to try them while I was there. You do need to use internet explorer it seems, so mac users might have some issues. Our dog got in a minor scuffle while he was there, and the staff called us to tell us what happened and not to worry, so we appreciated that. All feeding and medication instructions were followed precisely.
We picked up our dog last night, and he is still completely exhausted almost 24 hours later. I don’t think he’s ever played so hard in his life [this is a good thing, not a complaint!]. All in all I can’t find much to complain about, and I would certainly feel comfortable leaving our dog here again if we have to fly out of Midway.

Our baby loves Paradise4Paws! We have used this facility several times in the past year and have never been disappointed! The staff is knowledgeable, kind, concerned and caring. I’m surprised at a few of the reviews as each time I have taken my Yorkie there I never had an issue with the webcams and there was no bad smell. As far as kennel cough, the parent should make sure their dog has the bordatella vaccine before boarding their animal. 80% of kennel cough comes from the bordatella virus. Also, if you have a «special needs» dog who is on a raw frozen diet and is afraid of other animals, you may want to have someone stay in your home as opposed to boarding your animal. Some animals do not adapt well with a change in their environment and may have separation anxiety issues which would cause stomach distress.

This used to be a 5 star establishment but over time it just hasn’t been the same. We’ve been going here for about 2 years (Midway and Ohare) and not once have the webcams ever worked. We’ve tried multiple devices, computers, tablets, etc and not just our own but other friends and family and they have never worked once for us. That’s pretty frustrating since it’s a huge part of why we take my dog here.
Secondly, it does get pretty pricey and there’s not a «frequent member» program unless you pay an annual fee.
Third, my car was hit in their parking lot over my last 3 day stay. I contacted the facility and the young lady was very nice and looked at their security cameras. I had a strange feeling that they were going to tell me that their cameras couldn’t show a clear picture of the incident, and that’s exactly what they said. They couldn’t even see which cars were in the spot next to me on the left? It was that car that hit me when they were backing up out of their space by the way the damage was done on my car. I strongly believe they could do more or provide me information on who parked next to me, but did not. They did say they were sorry, which was nice, but I think they could have done more. I’m leery about bringing my dog here again if 1) webcams don’t work 2) security cameras in parking lot don’t work well since it is a high crime area.
Hopefully the person who hit my car sees this and feels guilty for driving off without leaving a note or acknowledging their wrongdoing.

Recently boarded our babies there; I must say, as soon as I walked in, the stench in the place told me we should’ve never took them there. It smelled like a shelter instead of a boarding place. I felt bad for our four legged ones as they were the ones staying there. We received usernames and passwords for the online webcams, but they never worked. To top off the whole experience, our little Yorkie got kennel cough from the stay. We will definitely ensure we never take our dogs there. Not worth it for the price; not worth it if I’m going to pay an extra vet bill.

I did my research before sending my pup here and was excited to send my dog here after reading such rave reviews. However my experience with Paradise 4 Paws has been anything but pleasant.
1. The communication between the staff and I has royally sucked. I called every day to check in on my dogs progress and I get conflicting reports.
2. I have my dog on a raw flash frozen food diet which means you add water to the flakes. I WROTE this very CLEARLY in the feeding instructions. I know it takes a little longer to make her food but my dog has a sensitive tummy. The first night they didn’t even add WATER to her food and told me she was not eating much. .. hmm maybe because you didn’t prep her food correctly? I had to remind them over the phone to add water.
3. I brought her here to socialize. It specifically says that in the notes about the goals I have for my dog. She’s scared of other dogs but thats a fear I’m trying to help her get over. Picking up my dog or leaving her in her room during playtime (which they only get 4 hours of each day) is not conducive to the goals.
4. I got a call at 7am about my dog having bloody diarrhea.. excuse me?!? Why am I paying over $ 300 for 5 days for my dog to get sick?
5. When I picked her up, her blanket was wet and her teddy bear smelled of dog crap. They just stuck it under a sink or something and tried to cover up the fact that my dog had got sick in her little suite.
6. My dog has been sick all night and I’m having to take her to the vet. .. They could’ve mentioned when we picked her up last night at midnight that she’s unable to hold her movements as we have white carpets and would’ve kept her in the bathroom.
I left very disappointed and very worried about my sick little pup. Owners beware!

We love paradise 4 paws. It is a clean and friendly overnight place for our feline to stay at.
They have 3 different room options for cats. Each room has there own cat tree, water fountain, and litter box. The doors to each room our glass so your cat can look out to see what is going on in the cat jungle. If you choose the executive or presidential room your cat will have a window to look outside. They let each cat go out in the common area multiple times a day. They make sure not to intermix cats unless they are from the same family and are staying together.
The staff is always friendly and loves to tell you about your pets stay there. I usually call and check in on our cat once a stay and they make sure to tell me the full run down. At the end of your stay you get a report card telling you how they were throughout the stay — playful/​not playful, ate all their food, went to the bathroom regularly etc. The other big plus is no matter what time you are leaving or get back from your trip you can pick them up 24/​hrs a day.
I recommend Paradise4Paws anytime you have to leave your pet behind while you travel. They will have a vacation staying at Paradise4Paws! It is convenient and located by each airport in Chicago.

I have been taking my dog to the Midway location since she was old enough to go. She has been there for doggy daycare to staying for 9 nights. I love the convenient location to my apartment, how easy it is to drop off/​pick up your dog, and the puppy webcams of the play area. The staff is great and have shown nothing but love to my pup and have also been very polite to me. They also are able to feed your dog whatever kind of food they’re on or meds they’re on at anytime. My pup was on wet food and some meds at one point and they were able to give that to her no problem.
I can tell my pup has a great time when she’s at doggy daycare or has stayed for a few nights because she immediately passes out when she gets in the car. I can also tell my pup has a great time because she is excited every time we walk through the doors. Half the time she’s loving on the staff before they even check her in. P4P has been an improvement to my dogs lifestyle by having her more socialized by the groups in playtime and being around more people.
Overall, I would recommend any of my friends to take their dogs to Paradise 4 Paws — Midway. =)

I firmly believe this place encouraged my pup to be happier. As busy as my wife and I are, we don’t always have the time to give the attention and affection he deserves. Although we live a stones throw away, we only recently heard about it. And since then, we’ve regularly brought our pup in for day care. And he loves it. And once a month, they have this event called Yappy hour where you can come in with your dog into the play area, for free, while they run around with other dogs acting a fool. Not sure if this is a regular thing but I know they did it in February. I suggest calling ahead to be sure. I’m glad there’s a place like this near our home because unfortunately in our neck of the woods there isn’t much in the way of dog parks like on the north side.

My review is only for grooming. I’ve brought my dog here a few times already and they have done a great job every time. They are a little pricey but well worth it you want someone who is a grooming professional. I have a Pomeranian and the previous groomer I took him to shaved his head! So they can definitely get it wrong if you take your pet to the wrong person. The groomer at Paradise 4 Paws talks to you and has an understanding for what style fits the breed. Friendly staff.

Great spot! Minutes from Midway. Our dog doesn’t get along with other dogs so we asked to keep him out of doggie day care. With his night stay, they gave him 5 twenty minute personal play time throughout the day/​night. We upgraded to the Executive Suite so that we can monitor our little guy on the webcam. We wanted to see how he’d do when boarding since he has separation issues. The suite is 4ft by 6ft and has a TV that is constantly on. I believe there is also a outdoor patio for him as well. The application process is pretty lengthy but you can tell they care about their guests and want to make sure we are happy. Its probably a little pricey but that’s the price to pay for having such a great experience. They also have shuttle service to the airport for a pretty low price including parking. One annoying thing is that they require the bordettela vaccine and a stool checkup every 6 months. But its to keep the dogs safe.
Also — first night is free :) Great people and safe environment for our pup. We will definitely use them again.

My 7 year old Yorkie just had her first weekend at Paws 4 Paradise and I can’t say enough nice things about the experience. I have NEVER boarded my dog and I had a little anxiety leaving her for the first time. I called Saturday afternoon to check in on her and they knew who she was right away and was able to give me detailed feedback on how she was doing. It made me feel great that she just wasn’t another dog there and they knew her exact situation. Diva wasn’t eating a lot so they told me they would either give her some wet food or put chicken broth on the food that I had brought. The chicken broth did the trick and Diva probably felt right at home with it. We will definitely be back to Paws 4 Paradise!

Had a last minute work trip to Minneapolis and P4P was very accommodating. They came highly recommended from a friend and have now become my go to pet stay when I travel.
If you use Midway to travel and don’t care for the over-​crowded city pet hotels, P4P is the only way to go!

I wish that I could give this place more stars!!! Our dog just loved this place and it was great to pick him up so happy.
Pros:
Location — right by the airport with shuttle options from the business
Transparency — when we dropped off our dog, the staff was friendly and even let us peek into the play area to see where our dog would be. Also, we called to check up on our dog while away and they knew exactly who he was and what he was doing at that exact moment. Also, both times we were there the place was VERY clean and smelled great.
Overall experience — wonderful! Our dog came home happy and not smelly like other places we have boarded him. He Also was returned with all of his belongings as well as with a report card with how he did and pictures of his stay. Our boy loved the pool and they got a lot of shots of that.

I cant wait to travel again so that our dog can go back to Paradise!!! I highly recommend to everyone who owns a pet to look into this place.

I was excited when I saw Paradise 4 Paws at the dog show and found out that they are located right near Midway Airport and my house. Perfect for people who travel!
My husband and I took a tour a few weeks ago. I know that the facility is new, but I didn’t expect a construction zone. The parking lot was full of mud puddles and not everything was completed on the inside. I guess they want to open up and start to make money though — which is understandable. Amber, the manager gave us the tour and was really nice and answered all of our questions.
My pups first day of daycare was this past week — half off the first day which is cool and a full day of daycare is $ 35 — definitely expensive but they do give discounts if you come 5+ times/​month for daycare.
PROS:
— Love the pool in the doggie play area
— Staff is very nice
— You fill out a huge packet of info about your dog when you start using their services and this is great so that they can know everything about your pup.
— Webcams are cool but kind of hard to see your dogs since they are so far away.
CONS:
— The main disappointing thing is that the dogs only get playtime for 4 hours each day — from 8:30 — 10:30am and 2−4pm. Other than that they are kept in their cage. My dog is an extremely high energy and social dog and he has been to other daycares where he is able to run around for most of the day, with an hour or so rest period. The reason I put him in daycare is so that he is able to socialize with other dogs and get human loves and so knowing that he is only getting that for 4 hours and the rest of the time he is by himself in a cage is kind of bothersome. Essentially you’re paying $ 35 for 4 hours of supervised playtime.
— The price is more expensive than other daycares, but like I said, they give discounts for coming more frequently.
— No outside area for daycare or if your boarding. Very disappointing — especially when it’s nice outside.
— They called me saying that my dog was taken out of playtime for licking the other dogs’ faces and this could be taken as agressive behavior. I’m not sure when giving kisses could be taken as agressive but I thought that was strange. They are dogs — let them play! My dog has been playing in a daycare setting for over a year at another facility with no issues.
I really wanted to love this place but I am left a little disappointed.
