History
Established in 2010.
True «Chicago boys,» 22-year-old George and 27-year-old John Rayyan grew up in the Northwest suburb of Niles, where they developed an interest in the food business at a young age in an extended family of restaurateurs.
Prior to opening Papa Ray’s first location, George and John gained industry experience as partners in the popular Pinocchio’s Pizza eateries. In 2010, the brothers opened Papa Ray’s, a namesake of their father Ray, and have quickly positioned it as a go-to for fast, fresh and tasty food in Logan Square. Offering dine in, carry out and delivery options, the quaint 1,200-square-foot space attracts locals who line the single-seat stools and review the daily newspaper page inserts posted along the walls.
«We are on a first name basis with our customers,» said George Rayyan, co-owner. «Our regulars come back to Papa Ray’s not just because of our great food, but also because we have truly become a part of the community,» added John Rayyan, co-owner.
