My building manager is great, but the owner is less great. The manager does what she can to make sure that problems are resolved, but if the owner insists of trying to fix the plumbing himself, rather than hiring a plumber, then that’s what he’ll do.

Neglectful landlord. No heat in the winter. Roaches and Mice in the building on Paulina.

Peter Gataric, president or P&G Properties, must be the most neglectful lanlord that I have ever encountered. He doesn’t return phone calls. My apartment had flooded during a bad storm, and there was quite a bit of water damage. Peter told me that it was a result of my upstairs neighbors leaving their windows open. I spoke with them, and it wasn’t the case. In fact, they showed me damage to the roof that has caused flooding and water damage to their apartment as well. I informed Peter of this, and he promised that he’d stop by and check out the water damage the following week. That was the last time that I spoke with him, and that was over a year ago. Our current issue is trying to get him to replace the washing machines. There are over 30 units, and of the 4 washing machines, 0 of them actually work.
