We specialize in personalized gifts, invitations and stationery for every occasion from babies to weddings and more. We print and embroider many items in-​house for fast turnaround. We also offer monogramming (embroidery) of items customers bring in.

We work in the evenings and weekends by appointment and are happy to work around your schedule.

History

Established in 2000.

I started working with brides for their invitations and new moms for their birth announcements and then expanded into kids and adult party invitations, Bar and Bat Mitzvah invitations, gift stickers, address labels and stampers and much more.

We started adding non-​paper gifts to better serve our customers including adding an embroidery machine which allows us to personalize items for you very quickly. We also offer additional choices that can be personalized on the spot using our Paparte machine: tumblers, travel mugs, iPhone cases, pens and even flip flops.

We have been in our current location on Halsted since 2010 and love the neighborhood!

I always loved personalized stationery growing up and love working with people help them with their invitations to celebrate their special occasions. We expanded into personalized gifts since we wanted to see our customers in between their special events — we monogram/​embroider in-​house so we turn it around super quickly. I am all about customer service and meeting my customer’s expectations. When someone new comes into the store, we try to learn about what they like so they will continue to come back again and again!

First I’d like to say that I’ve used Noteworthy Notes for several items in the past and have always been very happy with their work: my daughter’s birth announcements, various monogrammed items (beach towel, toiletry bag), personalized notecards, etc. However just before Christmas I brought them two bathrobes to be monogrammed for my daughters, and was very unhappy with the outcome for one of the robes.
I specified that I wanted both names monogrammed in the same font, same size (1 inch tall), same color, etc. When I picked up the robes, one was done as I had requested, and the other name was about half the size as the first one, and only ½ inch tall. I called and complained, and was told that the monogram I was unhappy with was a much longer name done on a much smaller robe, and there wasn’t room for it in the original size. The robe was in fact one size smaller, and the name was 3 letters longer, however the name could have easily been shifted down a small amount to accommodate the monogramming as I had requested. Or more simply, they could have called me to discuss this before monogramming. The monogram now is so small it can hardly be seen, it can’t really be taken out, and the robes are now sold out so I am unable to replace the one I’m unhappy with.
I may shop at Noteworthy Notes again as I was very happy with other items I’ve purchased over the years, however I might look elsewhere first.

My wedding was on Sunday, 9÷6÷2015.
I wanted to give a quick shout-​out to the ladies at Noteworthy Notes. Mallory was amazing to work with, and was able to help us take our ideas and turn them into beautiful wedding invitations. Although pricey, it well worth the money once our invitations came in. The order, turn-​around time, and structured organization was wonderfully demonstrated by Noteworthy, and I highly recommend them to future brides. They made things very easy for us!

We had an outstanding experience with the Noteworthy Notes staff, who helped us with the whole process of selecting, preparing, and sending out our wedding invitations. Mallory helped us look through a large number of options, which would have been extremely tedious if she wasn’t so helpful and friendly. Several parts of our experience with Noteworthy Notes stand-​out, including receiving complete guidance with selecting options for our invitations such as paper, fonts, colors, text, etc; being extremely accommodating when we changed our minds on one of the fonts after receiving the proof; and being very efficient and organized with stuffing and mailing invitations for both domestic and international addresses, which we had the store handle for a reasonable fee. We were absolutely delighted with our wedding invitations and actually received many compliments from our guests about them. This was one of the easiest and most successful parts of our wedding planning process. Recommended!

I personally got Vera wedding invitations, rehearsal dinner invites, save the dates, ceremony programs, escort cards and thank you notes printed by Noteworthy. They were absolutely perfect.

Noteworthy Notes is seriously AMAZING!!! I was so discouraged after receiving some extremely high quotes for wedding invites. So, I decided to stop into to one last place — Noteworthy… and I am so thankful that I did! Not only are they budget friendly, but they are so easy and pleasant to work with. Mallory is an expert in creating invites — after explaining to her what I wanted, she was able to pull together pieces from different invitation collections to create the exact invitation that I wanted. Their designer, Kim, sent me several design options for everything — from different fonts to different layout designs. They were a pure pleasure to work with and made the process a lot of FUN instead of very stressful! I highly recommend Noteworthy Notes, as this is honestly the BEST place in the city of Chicago! I promise you will not be disappointed!

This was my first time working with someone on invitations where my mother wasn’t involved and a lot was riding on it to get it right.
My daughter was being Bat Mitzvah’d and like any 13 yr old girl she had her opinions and I had a budget.
I made an appointment to look over designs with Cindy. Having an appointment is key with these types of decisions b/​c you get very focused attention. Cindy gave me very specific ideas and then told me the cost pros and cons and how to get around some things to make it look very nice but never cheap. My daughter and I LOVED her invitation and I was surprised how reasonable it was seeing that this industry has gone mostly online and lost its creative, personal touch.
Although this whole process happened over the holidays– magically the invitations went out on time?!
A bigger shout out has to go to her designer, Kim. She is fast, patient and gives you many choices. I would not have gotten anything done if she hadn’t been so fast.
Noteworthy has so many ofher items to look at from everyday cards to personalized bags… there isn’t anything Noteworthy can’t put your name on!
I highly recommend Noteworthy if you are looking to do a very creative, personal and thoughtful invitations or cards. If you’re looking to save money and time– go online and be generic. Noteworthy is NOT generic!

Stumbled upon this gem the Saturday before Christmas while frantically looking for a unique way to ask my bridesmaids to be part of our wedding.
From the moment I walked in I was greeted by the owner who not only offered a ton of great suggestions but also stayed late to show me a few of their save the dates and wedding invitations.
I couldn’t have been more pleased with the glass ornaments I gave my bridesmaids and they LOVED them! They were able to personalize them the next businesses day and were ready to be picked up before Christmas Eve.
I’ve already made an appointment for my fiancé and I to discuss save the dates and invitations with Cindy. This place was a great find!

I’ve purchased two, personalized blankets for new borns. The quality is great and the price is pretty good too. Both new moms absolutely loved the blankets (and no, they didn’t just say that to be nice :) They give very accurate timing estimates and the staff is always friendly. Beware! The only thing this place did correctly was charge my credit card! First they lost my order, then promised to rush my order and did not deliver. When my cards finally arrived they were the wrong colors! I emailed the owner Cindy, but she didn’t really seem to care. I would nevr order from Noteworthy Notes again.

Cindy, Mallory and Kathleen helped me with my wedding invitations, ceremony programs, placecards and reception menus. I first selected Noteworthy Notes for my wedding invitations and loved them so much that I decided to do everything here! I went to a few other invitation shops before selecting Noteworthy Notes and no other stores gave me the assistance I was looking for. The other stores just stuck me in the corner with a bunch of invitation books. Noteworthy Notes was knowledgeable, helpful and patient. They gave me great advice and helped me to think decisions through. If you are looking for a vendor for invitations and any other sort of paper product, Noteworthy Notes is the place!

I’ve been a huge fan of Noteworthy Notes for many years. I can always find the perfect gift at all price points. I love surprising friends and family with personalized gifts or stationery. It is especially great when buying a gift for those people «who have everything.» Whether I’m shopping online, or drop in to the store on Chicago’s north side, I’m always really pleased with the products and customer service. And, you can even get some personalized items really fast. It’s fun to visit a friend’s new baby in the hospital with a monogrammed gift. I definitely recommend Noteworthy Notes!

Useless. I visited on a weekday in the middle of the afternoon. I was the only customer in the store. The woman working there would not show me wedding invitations without an appointment (although she gestured to some pinned against the wall to tell me I could see them if I came back for an appointment). Also, she could not even give me a ballpark range of what their wedding invitations cost. Why would I patronize a store where the employees don’t feel able to show — much less discuss the price of — the products they’re selling?

For anyone like myself that has a note card obsession, this is a lovely little shop. Quite beautiful cards and stationary, at fairly reasonable prices, with friendly staff. I’m almost glad this store isn’t in my neighborhood, as I can see myself spending waaaay too much time and money in this place if it were! Stop in… send a hand-​written note to a friend… make someone’s day!

Caveat emptor.
My partner and I are getting married– and being new to this and not knowing what we need to know– we were hoping to get a consultative experience from a company that had experience in invitations for weddings. We also wanted to support a local business.
Our customer service experience was terrible. I created a «mood board» and sent it to them with images of the kind of design I wanted and our colors– Navy Blue and Kelly Green (classic preppy colors). The designs they came back with were very pedantic and literal to what I asked for. I’m not a creative, so I expected them to be more out of the box. So, I scrapped that whole «ask» and instead directed them to just give us a standard repp stripe– they were indeed very literal and produced *exactly” what I asked for, with no design recommendation. That’s ok, because it looked fine.
When we got to the color piece– they just could’t seem to get the concept of Navy Blue and Kelly green– they even got a test sample back to from the printer that was clearly not the colors and still asked us to come in and look at it! The sample was royal blue and washed out «pine» green. I would have expected that they would have known enough not to ask us to drive across town to look at something that was clearly wrong…
We under-​ordered initially. OUR FAULT. I get it. They told us .a few times. But they are the experts. You would think when we put in our order, they would have counseled us to order more, as the costs to reprint extras is exorbitant compared to the original order. But they didn’t. Instead, they let us pay almost as much as the original order for a fraction of the number of original invites. Their «I told you so/​your fault» attitude stung.
In fairness, the invites are beautiful. But, we have other design/​printing needs, as well as thank you cards and I would never go back to them. In theory it would be easier. But. No. No. No thank you.
Bottom line: poor «project management”/consultative services. Lots of hidden/​unexplained costs. Good output, but not worth the aggravation and frustration in the end.

I called NoteworthyNotes yesterday to inquire about price and availability to monogram a bath robe. They were so friendly from the moment they answer that only that was worth making a call. They told me the turn around was about 2 day because everything is made there. I brought the robe around 2pm and they were as friendly in person as they were over the phone. They helped me make a decision about the color and font plus they offer to email me samples before I made a decision. At 5pm I receive a call from them to inform me that it was ready… I was super surprised they were able to make it so quick since other places said they were too busy and wouldn’t take my order. NoteworthyNotes took my order immediately.
I went today to pick it up and could not be more pleased. I met the owner and she is super friendly as well as the rest of the staff. The robe was beautifully wrapped and everything. I couldn’t be happier. Kudos for such a great business and great customer service.

Invitations which caused us to start from scratch 7 weeks before our wedding. N.N. had great reviews on Unilocal and The Knot so they were first on our list to speak with.
We met on Saturday and explained our situation. It was the week of the 4th but understanding our urgency we were able to design new invites, information & RSVP cards and get them to the printer in 2 business days!!!
Kathleen and Kristen were super responsive and helpful. We recommend them for all your printing needs.

We worked with Kristin on our wedding invitations, programs, place cards and menu cards. She was INCREDIBLE. We came to her with a very unusual idea for our wedding invites and she went with it off the bat. Nothing was impossible for her.
In general, the staff at Noteworthy are friendly, helpful and understanding. I found myself excited every time I had an appointment to meet with Kristin. With all the wedding planning craziness, the beginning of our meetings would often be a short therapy session where I would complain of an issue and Kristin and the other ladies would tell me their thoughts.
The ladies at Noteworthy Notes have become friends to us and I know we will work with them in the future for all our paper, invitation and stationary needs!

This was the first store I went to when looking for wedding invitations since it was near home. I met with Cindy for about 1.5 hours. The first hour was okay, went over what they have and what I liked and what I didn’t like and my fiancée came in an hour into the meeting since he gets out of work later.
Cindy was okay, I just felt like every little change and thing was extra. We liked one invite but not the color paper, we also didn’t like how the ribbon was laid out, so we wanted it changed. So yes, her invitations were way out of my price point and she started showing us these really ugly invitations that were cheaper. I asked her if they had any specials or discounts as some businesses offer 10% for mentioning Unilocal or something and she said «I have to work for more than 2 bucks an hour.» I was really put off by that and that’s when I decided I didn’t want to do business with them.
I did receive a follow up email from her and the total price she wanted was over $ 800. I told her I wanted to stay around $ 5 an invite, I was only getting 75 invites.
I took my business to Mi-​Te in downtown and paid $ 200 less than what Cindy was asking. This was with all the changes to the ribbon and paper. We even ended up with envelope liners and thermo printing on the outer and reply envelopes. Mi-​Te carries the same invitation books, paper and ribbons as Noteworthy. I suggest saving some money and going there and getting excellent service minus feeling like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman when she goes clothes shopping. That’s honestly what the end of the meeting with Cindy felt like.
Terri @ Mi-​Te went out of their way to make our changes and the whole experience with her was great. She really listened to what we wanted and YES we went over $ 5 an invite, but it was well worth it they way the turned out.
