As Executive Director of North Avenue Day Nursery, I welcome you to North Avenue Day Nursery. Our center has provided early education and care services to the community since 1908. As our mission continues, we commit ourselves to creating the best possible early childhood environment for all children. The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accredits our programs, recognizing our center as one of the best providers of high quality early childhood development services in the nation.

Presently, our center-​based Preschool and School Age Programs serve children three through ten years of age, while our Family Child Care Homes Program cares for children birth to three years. We also have our infant and todler program through Head Start as well.

History

Established in 1948.

A century ago North Avenue Day Nursery opened its doors to provide childcare services for immigrant families working in factories along Milwaukee Avenue. Today, the Nursery continues this vital commitment through comprehensive, high quality educational and childcare services for low-​income families in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood and surrounding communities.
