Natalie Shuler, LAc MSOM

Natalie is the BEST! I have been seeing her on an ongoing basis for over a year now. She has helped with a multitude of ailments through acupuncture and herbs (both raw and capped). Everything from wisdom tooth pain, the common cold, allergic reactions, all the way to balancing my body on a daily basis so I always feel my best. She is caring, thoughtful, extremely intelligent and truly listens. She has always made sure I am completely comfortable with all of the treatments she is suggesting. She promptly responds to e-​mails and calls, and loves to make sure you are doing ok in-​between appointments. I was terribly afraid of needles before, and now I actually look forward to relaxing and balancing out my body.
Coming from a few holistic practitioners that were less than satisfactory (one said they wanted to «cure» my veganism, while another gave me supplements with gelatin and milk), Natalie is unlike anyone I have worked with before! Instead of trying to change what you are doing, such as my vegan diet, she works with you to find a healthy, balanced solution. She triple checks all ingredients to make sure they are ok for me, and is very creative with the herbs she gives me to make sure they align with my vegan beliefs and diet. We have truly formed a friendship and enjoy sharing health tips, coming up with new ideas, exchanging recipes, and more. I recommend her to people every chance I get! I can’t wait to try cupping and the other therapies she offers as well.

I cannot say enough good things about Natalie and her practice! I started seeing her at the end of April 2013 to promote fertility/​a healthy pregnancy. I immediately appreciated her thoroughness, expertise, and knowledge. It was empowering to feel as though I had some control by charting and completing food logs in between weekly sessions with her guidance, feedback, and encouragement. I am very confident that her holistic approach played a large part in my getting pregnant two months later and having a wonderful pregnancy, and giving birth to a happy, healthy, full term baby. I regularly and highly recommend her to friends & family.

Natalie saw me one day and was insistent that I just let her treat me, and I’m so glad I did. I was quite literally not able to keep my balance that day which I didn’t think was a big thing, but after the treatment I felt like I was just placed back into my body. I really don’t know how I would have continued the rest of the day if I didn’t have that treatment. It’s a lesson I think we all need once in a while, to have someone take our hands and tell us to slow down and relax.

I have been seeing Natalie for about 4 months. She is a stellar health care professional (being one myself, I can be rather picky :). She has been working with me to solve specific pain issues, and has done wonders for my overall health. She is a great listener, and knows her stuff. Natalie is exacting with her treatments, and I always feel better when I leave her table. This is my first real try at acupuncture. I was skeptical, but Natalie has made me a believer.

I’ve been going to Glow for about 9 months, after meeting Natalie at the 47^th Ward Health & Wellness Fair (what can I say — I like to work with practitioners who like to also give to the community!).
Natalie is pretty much all of the things you would want in a health care practitioner — she is a very smart, great listener, nonjudgmental, inquisitive, and works within the approach you are taking — e.g., she does not try to tell you to stop what you are currently doing and only do it her way. This goes a long way when you are working on a long-​term issue.
I have worked with Natalie on a range of female-​health related issues that in general take many months to have consistent progress. During that time I have also worked with her on other issues that come up over the year — back injury, finger injury, stomach and digestive complaints, migraines, TMJ, insomnia, and overall fatigue and stress. Natalie has been able to assist me with all of these various issues — so in many senses she is a generalist and can tackle a variety of health issues. That’s nice for me so I am not going to this person for one thing, and another for another issue.
Glow performs a variety of Chinese Techniques (acupuncture, herb therapy, Moxie, Cupping, accupressure, etc.) and she also throws in some lovely aromatherapy techniques and massage when needed.
Natalie also has a nice office. It is easy to get to, within walking distance from Southport and Belmont el, on Belmont bus line, and in general, free parking within a block or two. Her office itself is bright and relaxing, which I like in an acupuncture appointment.
Natalie is flexible with meeting you at the best times for your situation, and is available via email /​text as needed. Also, she is reasonably priced, especially when you do a package of a few sessions.
I say go for it — Glow is a great practice and your health will get better and better!

Natalie is an awesome therapist. She always makes me feel welcome and comfortable and has more education and experience than any other Chinese medicine Practitioner I’ve worked with. She is highly recommended by me!

I love Natalie! I started coming to her for acupuncture mostly for anxiety and some sleep problems. It’s been 7 months or so I cannot put into words what she has done for me. She also has raw herbs that she can custom blend, but I go for the regular old pill form because well. I’m lazy and I don’t want to boil the herbs. Accompanying the acupuncture with herbs is awesome, I don’t feel different when I take them like if you take anti anxiety medicine, just calmer :) This is my personal experience with her, I know she does a lot of work with women’s health too! Another thing I love, is that when I go there I feel like I’m talking to an actual person that cares not just someone who wants to take my cashola and put some needles in me. Basically she’s phenomenal and if you are thinking about getting acupuncture then pretty please do it for yourself.

I recently had my wisdom teeth extracted and I was experiencing a lot of pain starting in my jaw and extending throughout my neck. I have no idea how she did it, but in a few moments Natalie was able to completely rid me of the pain. Go to her. She works wonders.
