I previously gave this place a good review. Sad to say i have to take it back. Olena previously did my nails and did a fantastic job. I went in again and was very disappointed. I got a pedicure/manicure. The quality was poor. she didn’t even cover the entire nail with the top coat or color. the polish was uneven and applied so thick that within a day started to crack. Don’t think I’ll be going back unless I make an appt with Olena.

I can’t believe all the 5 star reviews– I can only think that maybe I had the new girl? or she had a really bad day? She was very nice and the price was VERYNICE however, it was like a 5 year old painted my nails. The edges are ragged, the color not uniform, and did I mention the polish is bumpy? After 3 coats of thick polish the result was the worst mani since I was a child. I usually go to 2×10 but this is literally a short walk down the street. I suppose after reading the other reviews maybe I will try it again– maybe. I mean COMEON my nails look like I shoved them into skinny jeans while still wet. Basically I paid $ 12 to waste 20mins and to then have to trek it down to Walgreen’s for nail polish remover.

As the old saying goes, don’t judge a book by it’s cover. In this case, don’t judge a nail salon by it’s less than stellar strip mall location. The girls and I came here for our pre-wedding mani/pedis on Friday. I made the appointments a couple of weeks ago, and they were able to accommodate 5 of us almost at the same time– they have 2 pedicure chairs and 2 manicure stations, so 1 had to wait a bit. The staff was so friendly, I really wish I had gotten anyone’s names but unfortunately I didn’t. When they found out we were a pseudo-bridal party, they busted out a bottle of champagne, which was just what we needed to make the occasion more festive. I can’t say it was the best manicure I’ve ever gotten, but for the price, it was well worth it. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

At first I was going to give them four stars, because my pedicurist took a particurally long time, but what can I say, I have had my pedi for over a month and it still looks like new. I am going back this weekend for my vacation mani and pedi and I can hardly wait. Great service, they speak English(a huge plus) and $ 30 mani/pedi combo. You can’t beat it!

I have been a customer at Nail Ave for years. Ahnton took over and continued the wonderful reputation it had. Oleana does a fantastic job on my feet. And the massage is of course my favorite part. I will always refer people to Nail Ave.

My search is over for a Chicago nail salon! I have had acrylic nails for about 20 years now. ugh! I have very thin natural nails so I need acrylic to be able to keep them long and pretty. Even though my nails are«fake» I like them to have a natural look. No thick, uneven, fat looking nails for me. I have been to several nail salons around the city and can’t say I have had a horrible experience but at the same time not a «memorable» one either. Thanks to Colleen S’. review on Unilocal I decided to try Nails Ave. Anh Tuan is now my go-to nail tech in Chicago. He absolutely Rocks. He uses exceptional product, takes his time and when he is done my nails look gorgeous. Long but natural. He has a great selection of OPI colors. His staff is very friendly and I really like the look and feel of his salon. Stylish, warm, very, very clean and inviting. Next on my to-do list, a spa pedicure at Nails Ave. If you are looking for a top quality, reasonably priced nail salon look no further. Nails Ave is your place.

I hate to bring down the great 5 –star ratings this place has been given, but I would say it’s only about an ‘OK’ to me. I went in to get a eyebrow wax and pedi — the women who did the eyebrows was not in on Sunday — but that was ok I understood. So I went ahead with the pedi. A really nice girl(I forgot her name) brought me to the back of the store where the pedi spas were — I like the way the place is set up. A couple things about the experience I wish was different: — I wish the water in the bowl would have been a bit hotter. — I wish they would have scrubbed my calluses a bit more(I would have paid extra to get extra scrub used on them). — I wish they would have offered to scrub my legs as part of the leg message(I would have paid extra). — I wish the leg and foot message was a bit more intense. — I wish she would have offered some decoration for my big toe(like a flower or something, I would have paid extra). Of course — this was my wish list based on other nail salons I have been too in the past. My overall experience was ok. I would go back if they had any specials — and maybe to get my eyebrows waxed as a sign outside the front door advertises the best eyebrow wax in the city. PS — they do have a cool pedicure frequent card — something like buy 5 peddi’s get one free — I thought that was pretty cool.

Lovely place, nice staff, good quality manicure. I don’t get my nails done often at all, but I might start. A very good experience.

My sign for today: «Have raggedy nails, will travel.» Of course I found this place on Unilocal.A whopping five, 5-star reviews for a nail place? Worth a stop in to see what the buzzzzzzz was all about. Hype=affirmative. Cute little shop, EASY street parking, but don’t blink those pretty little eyelashes… or you’ll miss it! The awning doesn’t stick out, but its on the north side of Montrose near Francisco… right off the 78 Montrose bus, as well. Friendly, inviting nail techs.(Olena is a gem, Ahn is the owner and did a FANTASTIC job with my sad little nails). Clean, comfortable, quaint and relaxing… very reasonably priced. Good magazine selection(Vogue instead of US Weekly, huzzah!) And really, that is all a nail salon needs to be for 5 stars from me. Well done Nails Ave, well done. :claps pretty hands together, but is careful not to smudge freshly painted fingers: Yes, I Unilocal with nearly dry nails… I’m an addict to both.

Great pedicure and eyebrow waxing. Both took about an hour(a little longer than I like to spend) but the technician Olena was courteous, professional and actually massaged my eyebrows after the waxing which NEVER happens at other places. Highly recommend!

I picked this place because everybody here said many great things about it. i went today and anh tuan did my nails for me. ive never ever ever in my life got a manicure and pedicure this lovely until today. one on one customer service, the place was small and quaint, nobody was rude and there was no rush like the ones you get at a mall. the employees made you feel at home and they take great care of their customers. i will be back here soon with a bunch of my friends. i dont know how other nail salons are in different neighborhoods, but this is by far the best in albany park! ps. how convenient is it to have a sauna, a nail salon and a sushi place sandwiched together?

Attention all pedicure lovers: $ 19 pedi’s! I kid you not! Nails Ave was running a special this weekend or maybe week, but, holy ish, this is a GREAT deal. I was kinda apprehensive to check this place out(I mean, it’s down the street from Horner. Ha. I went to day camp there — so I’m entitled to make comments.), but it is totally awesome inside! There are 2 pedi stations and 3 or 4 mani stations. It’s super clean, well decorated and had this zen feel to the place. All the OPI colors were arranged according to color hue and it was just really pleasing to the eye. I loved my pedi-curist. She was super friendly and did a fantastic job! Even though it was close to closing time, she didn’t skimp out on the quality of the pedicure so that she could leave. Much appreciated. She also gave me a mini leg massage, which was soothing for my calves. Even w/out the special, the prices are comparable to other nail salons. $ 25 for a pedi — $ 35 for a mani/pedi. I will definitely check this place out again!

I live in Albany Park but am jealous of all of the cute places in Lincoln Square – especially salons. However, there is one hidden gem between a sushi restaurant and massage parlor; it is Nails Ave. Believe me, I was just as dubious as you when I originally drove by! Since I work from home, I was really hoping for a place that was close by and thankfully I found it. Anh Tuan keeps the salon neat and clean. There are two pedicure bays and four manicure stations. The staff is friendly and professional. All of the instruments are sterilized. The décor is fresh from the taupe and tan walls to the cow-print chairs. You will not see any bits of salmon or bright pink anywhere in the salon. Anh Tuan mostly stocks OPI colors so if you prefer Essie, you may want to bring it with you. Don’t let the surrounding store-fronts scare you. Nail Ave is a cute and clean salon. You will really enjoy your pedi and mani.

I will admit, I have driven past Nail Avenue probably everyday for the last few years. For the last couple of months or so I have noticed their great specials advertised outside. Today I decided to stop in. Much to my surprise there is a new owner. I was happy to see this as the old owner was only open limited hours and never ever took a walk in even if she was sitting there with an empty store. I met Anh Tuan(pronounced like Anne-Twan) he is the new owner of Nail Avenue and to say that it is new and improved is an understatement. It is a much different place now. They are open 7 days a week and take walk in’s. The Nail salon was completely redecorated(no more pink walls) and cleaned up with all new equipment and nail stations. Anh has a great personality and we chatted it up throughout my entire manicure today. My hands have been really dry due to all of this cold weather so I also indulged in a paraffin treatment. They have a waxing room and two pedicure stations. Nail Ave was immaculately clean and the prices were really reasonable. My Manicure with Paraffin was $ 19. Anh told me that every month they have a special. For the month of March when you get a pedicure or a full set of acrylic or gel nails you can have your eyebrows waxed for $ 2! Yes… I said $ 2! Nail Ave has ample parking(street and parking lot) and is located right at Richmond and Montrose. If you are not a driver, you could easily walk from the Brown Line Francisco stop located a little over 2 blocks away.
