Michael E Murzyn, DDS

Michael is wonderful.
I was visiting relatives in Chicago and had one of my crowns come out. My relatives highly recommended Michael because he does great work at a fair price. Boy was I in for a surprise.
His office is behind a Juice bar and actually had available parking in the back. No parking hassles! Upon entering his office it had a nice, homey feel to it… no sterile waiting room with a big glass window separating you from the receptionist. I saw a guitar case and I heard he would play for you if you asked, so I asked and he did. He played some nice classical guitar while we talked about my needs. It was a very relaxed atmosphere… and I was surprised there was only enough seating for 3 or 4 people in the waiting room. Once I entered the room with the dentist chair I realized this guy doesn’t treat his patients like a cattle call… you won’t find 6 patients in the waiting room waiting for their 5 minutes with the Dentist and 5 rooms with patients waiting to be seen. One at a time. Nice!
His demeanor was relaxed yet focused on what he was saying and doing… Michael was straight up with me that he could put my crown back on only if it was not damaged or no longer fit tight. Fortunately he was able to put it back on without any problems, he was very gentle and I would have been in and out of there in no time had we not began a conversation about Southern history (I was born and raised in the deep South) and the Confederate Flag controversy. No. you won’t be immediately herded out of the room quickly to herd another patient in.
We talked for a few more minutes and when it came time to pay I was pleasantly surprised how fair the charge was. I was so impressed I made an appointment for a badly needed cleaning for the following week.
This is not your run of the mill Dentist with an office overflowing with patients waiting to see him. If you go to a Dentist office with a lot of workers buzzing around like busy bee’s trying to keep the Dentist on schedule I suggest you give Michael a try and have as pleasant a dental visit as is possible (lets get real… this IS dental work). Like I said. I’m going back soon and I don’t even live in Chicago. Give him a try… and you’ll be a Michael Murzyn fan also!

I recall the first time I went to his office, on Michigan Ave. When I arrived, my mouth was in that kind of pain that makes a person unreasonably un-​human! I thought, he was tall, kind, funny, happy, and friendly… what kind of dentist actually smiles at you and means it?! Dr. Murzyn, that’s who. His gentle, comfort caring, virtually pain-​free approach and reasonable prices made me the happiest poor kid on the block… of course, rich kids are welcome to visit him too.
I refer all of my friends and (well liked) family to Dr. Murzyn, especially since he moved to an area with easier parking! You should try him… he’s such a dental genius, he may actually put the tooth fairy out of business!

The best ! i had chip in my front tooth. Went to 5 different dentist before Michael. They will fill in chip but will fall off few days after. it was nightmare. Michael fix it and didnt chip over a year now. Some dentist told me that i need veeneres!!!
also he did my implant. Perfection. He is so kind and patient and really acknowledgeable. Outstanding! If you need dentist he is the best !

I just began going to Dr. Murzyn. I am very pleased with his services. He is indeed very patient, meticulous, and very concerned that you not feel any pain. He is also very concerned about my pocket book, i.e. that I not have to spend too much. It is great that he has Saturday hours, as my previous dentist does not. I highly recommend him.

I was a patient of Dr. Murzyn between 2000 – 2003 (while his office was still on Michigan ave) and he provided outstanding service. I second all other reviews that he is very meticulous, patient and careful. I had regular cleaning as well as some cavity work done that is still standing strong!
Had I not moved out of the area and gotten an incompatible insurance on my way back to town, I would still be his patient. I highly recommend his service to anyone who considers going there.

I’m not kidding, this guy is the best. Look at all of the 5-​star reviews. I went there for a cleaning (after 6 years of not being to the dentist) and he was very patient with me and explained everything that he was doing. He was very concerned with how comfortable I was and even played classical music while he worked to give me something soothing to listen to (even though I think it was more for him than for me.)
I ended up having a cavity and had to go back for a filling. It was my first ever and he could tell I was nervous (I’m kind of a sissy about that sort of thing.) But all in all, the process was pretty painless and he gave me plenty of anesthetic to numb the feelings. He is just a genuinely nice guy that deserves his 5-​star ratings. If you’re looking for a dentist in Chicago this is your guy. I don’t care where you live.

Remember the age old adage about automobiles: «It’s hard to find a good honest mechanic»? Well, we now live in an age where the same can be said of dentistry. Dr. Murzyn is an EXCELLENT, HONEST DENTIST! His exams are thorough but not pricey. His diagnosis and treatments are as top notch and professional as you will find anywhere and his prices are truly fair and reasonable. His dedication to preserving your OWN TEETH as well as his passion for cleaning them is a priceless quality that demonstrates unquestionable integrity. Another dentist tried to use scare tactics to sell me a lot of expensive and painful procedures that I didn’t need. Thanks to Dr. Murzyn, I have a very healthy mouth with great choppers that smile proudly and my bank account is still intact.

My new Dentist. Dr. Murzyn is really very good. I’ve had a lot of dental work done over the years, and I’m consider him the best Dentist I’ve tried so far. He is a one man show is is always very concerned with educating and assuring patient comfort. I like that he always explains why and what he is doing. His greatest asset is he is a real craftsment when it comes to dental work, such as crowns and such. I’ve had many different filings etc, but I feel like Dr. Murzyn goes the extra mile when it comes to crafting a filling or crown to fit perfectly and last as long as possible. I find Dr. Murzyn listens to classical music or blues, which so I didn’t run across any of the concerns in other reviews. Billing is handled by his wife, its, sort of a mom and pop operation. Its not one of the bigger discount, quick filling operations, but when you have had as much work as I have and have had to had fillings or root canals re-​done, its nice to know that your newer fillings are made to fit perfectly and last a long time. You want really good work, not cheap work, you should come to Dr. Murzyn’s office.

I have been very happy with Dr. Murzyn since I started going to him about two years ago. He seems very up-​to-​date regarding his knowledge of dentistry, and he’s very careful when he’s poking around your teeth. I also appreciate his running commentary on any number of topics; he is very personable.

I like Dr. Mike. He truly seems interested in providing decent care at an adequate cost.
I live in the neighborhood and had what was bound to become a dental emergency. Even though Dr. Murzyn was taking an annual week of continuing education, he managed to get me in first thing in the morning. A couple of days later he followed up with a phone call.
My problem was resolved and he also managed to save the tooth.
I only have one minor irritation to share with other readers. While Dr. Mike doesn’t proselytize, he discreetly puts on his Go-​tell-​it-​on-​the-​mountain Born-​again music. If I wanted to save my soul instead of my teeth, then I wouldn’t have gone to see a dentist in the first place.
