This place is awesome! There are beautiful pieces of furniture to choose from that you can have painted or stained to your liking. They are very helpful in assisting you in choosing a piece that matches your style. My order was ready much faster than I anticipated. Delivery was swift and efficient. I will definitely be back for more pieces!

Overall I had a positive experience with Meg Made. I was looking for something custom and stumbled upon this place online. I came in to see Meg in person who was very nice. We talked about exactly what I wanted done with my dresser and we agreed upon an approximate time for delivery. I also said I really wanted a few extra days for the piece to sit out so that it doesn’t have any kind of fumes of paint smells. Upon the time of arrival, the dresser I ordered looked nice but it came with a few imperfections and the hardware gold color wasn’t exactly what I wanted but here’s what Meg did right away to make things right. Everyone makes mistakes, no one is perfect, but she made things right and perfect. She had her delivery guys take the piece back and had a much better product delivered a few days later. It looks stunning, just what i had envisioned in my head, I don’t mind at all that it wasn’t perfect the first time around. What I like is their business approach that if something isn’t quite right or perfect, she will make it perfect.
I only do wish they didn’t rush it the second time as it did have a little bit of a paint smell that I’m not fond of but it may not bother most people as I’m just very sensitive to smells. What’s also nice is that if you share whatever piece you order with Meg, she will send you a gift card for $ 25 to use as a thank you for giving her business.
I do plan on working with Meg in the future as I like that she acknowledges when she makes a mistake and makes things right. In this day and age when there are so many businesses out there, I really want to work with people, not who are perfect, but ones who work to make things perfect and understand what you are looking for.
My dresser is standing, although a little smelly still from the paint, but it’s beautiful and looks very elegant in our master bedroom. Thank you to the MegMade team!

Just had a beautiful Campaign Dresser delivered that we had custom stained in a dark walnut/​espresso color for our bedroom. It looks amazing! We happened to walk into MegMade a few weeks ago, as we were in the neighborhood and couldn’t believe the selection of vintage furniture they had for custom finishing in their warehouse. Both Meg and her husband Joe are very passionate about the pieces they have and restore. Will be back for sure!

After purchasing something and overall happy with the product. I am, however disappointed by the customer service at Meg Made. When my order was delivered timely but damaged I never got a response to my call or email. I decided to live with the chip in the paint as this was going into a childs room anyway. More recently, After inquiring 4times about a gift card that was offered to me since I referred customers during a promotion, I have yet to receive it. Ive personally talked to shelby twice and Meg once. In addition to several unanswered emails. All times cordial and they were rather elusive and apologetic about me not receiving it. Its such a shame because they do a great job selling good product while your there but wont follow up on their promises. I expect more considering there is a lot of competition in this market. As a consumer, its really annoying to have a business say they are doing something and then dont. Maybe repeat business isnt one of their business goals.

It’s rare to find solid wood furniture that doesn’t cost a fortune but MegMade delivers! I had gone to crate and barrel, pottery barn and west elm and everything was just so cookie cutter and most was particle board. I want a home that’s a little different and MegMade is making that happen.
I recently bought a gorgeous buffet and hutch that is mid century modern in style, the price was more than reasonable and the refinish job was amazing.
I go back to MegMade every few weeks (or every week!) because they always have new stuff that’s been brought in or refinished.
I’ve still got a lot of furniture to buy and MegMade is my number 1 destination to find unique, high quality, fun furniture that no one else on the block will have!
The other reason I go back… the big jar of starbursts. I never leave without eating a few ;)

Update: I spoke with MegMade and they sent Kevin out to check out my buffet (he’s wonderful). Kevin wanted to make the piece look top-​notch so he brought it back to the shop and fixed some of the issues with the piece. My big concern was a blue stripe on the bottom and some streaking. The stripe is gone, and there’s less streaking. Wooo hoo!

Meg and her team are actual miracle workers you guys, they are pure MAGIC! I have a lovely vintage dresser that’s been with me for 6+ years and when I recently moved into my new condo it finally hit me that it was decidedly much more shabby than chic… so I sent it off to Meg’s magical workshop to be given a facelift! The initial pictures I sent didn’t quite convey the state that it was in (layers and layers of paint, there was duct tape on nearly every drawer, and there were several chunks of wood missing, and that was just on the outside) so I took trip up to their store front/​warehouse (which by the way is amazing!) and met with Meg to talk about our options… after explaining the story behind the dresser and the emotions I have attached to it, and discovering our Kansas City roots connection (KCMO represent!!), she said they would work their hardest to make the dresser look good again…
…and boy did she deliver on that promise (!!!), and then some… I was absolutely blown away when the dresser was delivered last week!!! I would have been happy with just a new coat of paint to be honest, but Meg and her elves, er, I mean her team, stripped that baby down, filled holes, took off tape, added trim where it was missing, to make a long story short they worked their magic because it looks brand, spankin’ new, it’s a total showstopper!!!
I could not be happier with the end result and would definitely, 100%, no doubt about it recommend MegMade and will be a customer again!!! Thanks again:)

We’ve purchased two great vintage pieces from MegMade in the last year (the latest one earlier this month from their new showroom), and I would recommend working with them. Our first piece was a vintage walnut and white lacquer buffet — a custom job Meg did for us at a discount after a piece we found on Etsy turned out to be already sold. Our latest piece is a great little mid-​century dresser finished in bright blue with gold hardware. After recently visiting their showroom, I can also say they’ve upped their game on finishes, which tended to be a bit inconsistent the first time I saw their work last summer.
If you like quality solid wood furniture and are looking for something unique at a great price, definitely take a look and keep looking if you don’t see what you want the first time around. They have new inventory constantly and a new warehouse full of great stuff ready for refinishing. I will say that we had minor customer service snafus with both experiences, but the team was incredibly gracious and responsive in resolving any issues (and was definitely concerned with our satisfaction). Just keep in mind that you’re working with a small local team, not a large national retailer.

We went to MegMade after someone suggested it to us when we moved to a new apartment. We picked out a great dresser and mirror out of the great selection. Meg even made some slight adjustments to them so they would match each other and the rest of the furniture in our room. After we got our new pieces (delivered easily and on time), we decided we wanted our bookshelves to match the dresser and mirror. So Meg mixed us up a can of the paint she used on the pieces and gave us some pointers for how to best paint our shelves.
Highly recommend MegMade. The selection is great and they’re very helpful with picking out what you want. There’s a huge supply of finished and unfinished ones so you can easily find something that fits your style and space.

I had visited the shop and found a dresser that I liked, but went home to think about it. By the time I went to purchase it, it had already sold. However, the staff worked with me to find another unfinished piece in their inventory. They finished it in the same colors, and I like it even better than the first one.
The delivery guys were great as well

Not a positive experience here. Was recommended by a friend and I had a piece that needed refinishing. My first visit wasn’t that impressive but my friends enthusiasm kept me to pursue my piece getting done, they had it for 3 weeks and after going to pick it up myself on my drive home I realized only half of one shelf had been refinished. I drove it immediately back only to break away the plastic wrap to find many more parts of my piece not finished.
Really what bothered me more than the unfinished botched work was Meg’s demeaning/​patronizing attitude like it was no big deal, she had multiple excuses.
Weeks went by, no phone calls– nothing. I emailed asking if my piece was done yet– after a second email I received a phone call from Shelby to set up free delivery, my piece was delivered another week later. The delivery guy upon walking into my house was very kind and said that he was told to tell me a gift card was being mailed to me for the inconvenience. It’s been another two weeks and no gift card, no apology, no follow-​up, nothing. It’s been nearly 2 months since this all began.
Meg was happy to take my money, but that’s where her service ended.

I loooove Megmade sooooo much.
I keep inventing reasons to go there.
I had bought 3 pieces of furniture which Meg and team have now revived to absolute
furniture porn perfection.
I’m the type of customer who can be annoying, as I like to get involved in the creative process.
Meg has always managed my expectations (let’s not say demands) super well!
Customising colours, adding new hardware, even adding polka dots for my daughter to a piece they had on the floor.
I’m now dreaming up ideas for a vanity unit for my daughter and guess what? I’m going to go back to Megmade.

I have searched high and low from Etsy to Craigslist to other shops for quality reclaimed furniture. I have a blend of higher end new pieces and vintage pieces in my home but particularly like supporting small businesses and finding furniture that has character! This place is my favorite by far! The owners, Meg and Joe, are so passionate about their work and it shows in their beautiful pieces. I have also been impressed by their customer service. I am NOT someone who can imagine what something will look like before it is made. Meg and Joe do that. They listen really well and know how to translate loose ideas into beautiful work. IMO, it is worth the out of state delivery to work with these guys.

What a disappointment. The owners, Meg and Joe, were very pleasant and upbeat upon meeting them in their store. When we made our first purchase, I was extremely happy to be supporting a local, woman owned business. However, more than two months later, I am still missing pieces to the hutch that I purchased, rendering it useless. Despite my repeated attempts to contact the shop as well as Meg directly, I was offered absolutely no recourse with the exception of a discount for a future purchase which I find quite offensive.
Don’t be lured into making a purchase from MegMade based on their lovely marketing tactics. Meg’s lack of communication and unwillingness to acknowledge and correct an error when it occurs is disheartening. Particularly since I will now be stuck with this furniture in my home that will serve as a constant reminder of my regret in making this purchase.

So sad. I ordered two pieces. The first was a bed table that came out perfect, exactly what I wanted. The second piece was a dresser/​buffet. I ordered both a few weeks before Xmas and they were adamant about getting them to me before the 25^th. Hey, I wasn’t gonna say no.
The pieces arrived on a Saturday and I was very excited by the bold color the sale’s lady chose for me. Shortly after the delivery men left, I noticed several scratches on my hardwood floors. Ugh! On Monday I spoke to one of the owners and he asked me to text him photos of the damage. I did. He text me that they would discuss and me in contact. They never got back to me.
Later, I noticed that the buffet piece was poorly finished. It looked like it needed another coat of paint. It was darker in some areas and lighter in others.
They were so nice to work with in the store. However, I feel like they rushed my pieces to get them out before Xmas. So I end up with a wonky buffet, scratched floors, a nice bed table, but they’re moving on up to a bigger and better store? Maybe that’s why they never called me back?

Oh MegMade, how I adore thee! Seriously. MegMade is an absolute gem! I stumbled upon this place one day while searching for vintage furniture on the Internet. I called them and asked if I could stop by their warehouse to look for a dresser that I had spotted online. They were super kind and allowed me to browse forever. I immediately purchased the dresser and a nightstand because well, it was a Drexel and absolutely gorgeous! It’s so hard to find nice, refinished furniture these days.
A few days later I stopped back in a purchased another dresser with the intention of making it into an entertainment stand. They were so kind to customize the color for me and gut the middle of it so that I could place my cable box, etc in it.
Lastly Meg is awesome. She had a a amazing eye for design and is incredibly helpful when you are picking out pieces. They can even find you pieces if you give them an idea of what you are looking for. I plan on buying another mirror, headboard and coffee table from them. I’m always impressed with their work and the furniture.
Oh and they do delivery for a decent price and the guys who deliver are awesome! :) I highly recommend checking out MegMade!

I just received my new buffet, dresser/​changing table and couldn’t be any happier with my experience at MegMade! Joe, Meg, and Amanda were super friendly and helpful in picking out pieces that fit my needs and style to a tee. Pricing is reasonable. Robert and Kevin delivered and assisted with painting my pieces and were very professional, enthusiastic and gave me lots of useful tips and advice for the care of my new furniture. I highly recommend this store for anyone, regardless of style type!
