Description

Specialties

The name says it all. ME: IN FOCUS. That is what we’re all about — focusing on what matters to you and all the many sides of you. Style Me, Entertain Me, Inform Me, Indulge Me, Inspire Me, Empower Me.

Founded in 2009 in Chicago and launched in 2010, ME: IN FOCUS was made for a different kind of woman — the modern, young (and young at heart) woman who craves something different — something more from a magazine than the standard fare.

A woman who boldly celebrates her brains, beauty and business savvy.

A woman who’s not afraid to take risks, face her fears and reap the rewards.

A down-to-earth woman who also loves the finer things in life.

A woman who wants something that identifies with who she is: Empowered, Fashionable, Confident, Inclusive, Savvy, Smart, Worldly, Entrepreneurial, Compassionate, Real.

A woman who knows that sometimes, a number is just a number, be it an age, a dress size or salary.

A woman who, when opportunities don’t come fast enough, makes her own.

Bian «Bee» Li is a former globetrotter turned investment banker turned Founder and Editor-in-Chief on a mission to empower young women the world over, starting in Chicago. Bee’s lifelong passion for women’s empowerment began while conducting microfinance research with women’s groups in Kenya as a Borlaug-Ruan intern for the World Food Prize Foundation, for which she was a recipient of the 2001 John Crystal Award. When she’s not trying to catch up on sleep, Bee is attempting to add to her photography portfolio, catalog her family’s delicious Sichuan cuisine recipes, hit the salsa dance floor, follow the Moto GP circuit and plan her next scuba adventure.
