Life Spring Health Foods

I adore the Life Spring family.
I was a body care buyer in the Whole Body department of Whole Foods Lincoln Park… I often referred customers to Life Spring when we could not immediately satisfy nor fill their requests.
The Midwest Whole Foods Whole Body buyers, particularly for Vitamins, really lag behind the WF West, South, and East coast buyers — for example, more progressive lines like ‘HealthForce Nutritionals’ are available in all Whole Foods regions sans the Midwest… this region is always the last to carry the the new wave of supplements.
Life Spring carries harder to find products that people with digestive issues and ‘restrictive’ diets would likely be looking for.
I am Celiac and Vegan with an emphasis on high raw.
Despite having a discount at Whole Foods I will still shop Life Spring because their staff are sweet and their stores offer a variety of well purchased items at very competitive local prices — many times I’ve found they’ll price items I regularly buy lower than Whole Foods.
They also go above and beyond for customers:
Tonight, not knowing they closed at 7:30, I phoned at 7:30 seeking an item — the gentleman kept the store open for me and had the product waiting at the counter when I pulled up 15 minutes later.
Love, love, love these sweet South Koreans.

Friendly staff, great prices and WAY better selction than GNC… Probably the best health store in the area!

Friendly staff, good prices and it’s a locally owned small business which I love to support. I think they carry a good selection and again, at excellent prices.

This is the BEST health foods store in Chicago. Move out of the way, GNC and Vitamin World. These wonderful men provide natural and organic supplements and products in addition to the usual Perpetuum, Hammer, GU, Whey, and all of that other fun stuff. I love the fact that they sell such amazing drinks such as Kombucha and a punch that packs 40g of protein per bottle. I go here about once a week, and am always trying new products that make me more efficient as an athlete or naturally heal various illnesses that I come across.

This place is great. I prefer it to GNC or the Vitamin Shoppe. The prices are generally better too. Based on how knowledgeable and friendly the staff is, I’m betting this place is probably a family owned shop started by someone who had a passion for it. I won’t go anywhere else for vitamins and supplements.

Thoughtful customer service without the obtrusive, ingratiating salespersonship often found in the corporate version of supplement shoppes. Charmed by the cashier performing leg stretches to relieve a persistent condition. I believe this is a family operation with a second store further north. Highest recommendation.

Life Spring is great. I get my bee pollen supplements here and any other assorted things I need to pick up. The parking lot is convenient and the man that always seems to be there is really nice and informative. Also, the prices are reasonable.

I’ll never go to GNC again.
For the past week or so I’ve been looking for somewhere to stock up on Myoplex shakes. My trainer tells me that, in order to get fucking HUGE, I need to add more protein to my diet — and she’s hot so I do whatever she says!
I priced out some shakes at GNC, online, etc.
This place (stuck right next to Webster Place theaters) beat everyone hands down. I think they’d even beat GNC on their first-​tuesday-​of-​the-​month deal.

Customer service was a mixed bag. The gentleman that helped me find what I wanted was great — told me about the discount for buying a case, etc.
If the hottie that rang me up had smiled at me (or otherwise for that matter), I would have given this place 5 stars.

This is another one of those health food stores I could stand in for hours on end! They’ve got everything you need for every type of fad diet you’re on and also awesome non fad diet stuff like vitamins and supplements as well as good shakes and bars!
