Great coffee and good for breakfast, Are you kidding me? Nothing was real about it. Trust me! I was here before and i never experienced what they have posted online. Some reviews were not real. I know they are trying to beautify this shop. It’s up to you if you would listen to me.

Adrian, the owner, is always a pleasure to do business with. His food is always fresh, delicious, and enjoyable. I especially love his tuna salad. The location is also so extremely convenient! He’s right downstairs from our home, and any time I need something I can hop on over. It’s a great place to get a great meal for a great price!

Cute place. U order at counter and they deliver to the table. Loved the smith hot tea. I ordered veggie eggs Benedict with sauce on the side. They had to remake it but they rushed it. Loved it. Good sauce. My daughter got the caprese panini– it was very good. My mom got an omelet and said it was ok. Everyone who worked there was very nice. Will definitely be back.

Very cute and laidback little café in Lincoln Sqaure, great for a quick brunch. You order at the counter, pick your own seat, and then someone brings your food. It has a great selection of breakfast and lunch items. I like the décor which makes for a nice atmosphere, lights around the windows, brick walls, and chalkboard menu.
I had the turkey, bacon, cheddar panini with a greens salad and my boyfriend had a ham and goat cheese omelet with potatoes which he sad was delicious.
Everything tasted very fresh — bacon was crisp and non greasy, greens were also fresh with the perfect amount of vinaigrette.
I look forward to coming back again!

This is a go to little breakfast spot in Lincoln Square. All the coffee selections are great. The Nutelo coffee is my favorite and absolutely amazing. For breakfast I usually stick to the traditional 2 scrambled eggs with potatoes. Always fresh. And always filling. Prices are great.
Great place to come and enjoy your coffee with a good read. And it does not hurt that the lady at the register is a babe. Le café is a must stop in for a quick coffee ;)

I really love this place, they use REAL ingredients, everything has always tasted fresh and very delicious! My favorite are their soups and taco salad. the steak that comes on there is SO good and high quality.

Only visited once, but decent food. The Chicken and pesto omelette I had was delicious. Service was just okay, and prices could be a little better. I will return, but it will not be my number 1 go-​to spot in Ravenswood/​Lincoln Square.

I work a block away and decided to stop in for breakfast last minute before work. I stopped for coffee on my way to work as I wasn’t even planning on stopping in that morning. I was informed that they don’t allow outside beverages in. So if I had come in and ordered breakfast and a water that would have been ok. Seriously a ridiculous rule. Unfortunately I won’t be returning.

checks all the boxes for a kid-​friendly but not kid-​geared (thankfully) brunch spot for me! i’m surprised at the overall ratings for this place as i think it rates higher. i always applaud a restaurant that gives you «real» fruit with your meals (honestly, does anyone ever get excited to see melon?) my chilaquiles were quite yummy — i was hesitant to order at a «standard» café but i really enjoyed it and it was a huge helping. my husband enjoyed his breakfast sandwich that even our breakfast neighbor took an interest and ordered the same thing ;) our kid loved his eggs and sausage and was definitely not the only kid in the restaurant… it’s lincoln square after all. my only small complaint was that we were charged for a milk and never got it (no big deal, we walked back up to the counter to inquire.) they seemed skeptical that we even ordered/​paid for it! seriously? do the math, that’s exactly what we did! regardless, we’ll be back!

We are regulars to le café for weekend breakfast. Customers place order at the counter and sit at a table. Food and drinks are delivered to your table. I have never had to wait for a table. They refill coffee which is very good.
They do a great job for breakfast, I have never eaten lunch here.
I am a huge benedict fan and the house made hollandaise is always exceptional.

Such a great coffee shop ! It’s like a French bistro. This place is little hidden just by Lincoln square. It has huge Windows that over look the subway line .

The coffee was really good ! I got a mini apple turner over pastry and it was delicious!

I have been here a few times, trying for a quick coffee and out. whether there are 4 people working or 2, wait times here are pretty horrible.
Reason for the 1 star review is today I came in for a cup of coffee to go (was not in a rush). I walk out, go to take a sip and it is definitely not a full cup (½ — ¾ full), to make it worse the coffee was not hot. It felt like the coffee had been sitting out for 5 – 10 minutes which I know it wasn’t, since I was impatiently watching them trying to make it for the amount of time it felt like it was sitting out.
I live in the building connected to this shop. Next time I am going out of my way to go to the Grind.

Business owner contacted me, thinking I was someone who was holding a grudge against the business. Was very apologetic initially then it turned nasty. I informed them that it was in fact a justified review, I was not the person that lives above the shop that thinks the music is too loud, and I offered to sit down and talk about the issues I gave the bad review for. Never heard anything back.
Suggestion: Take criticism the same way you take praise. Appreciate it and learn from it, do not lash out. If you would have offered to come back and have a coffee on the house (not a ‘you should have come back’) and I still got the same sub-​par service I would have at least raised this review to a 2, who knows what it would have gone to if the experience was awesome.

The coffee is fantastic and portions are very well sized. I had the chicken, mushroom and Gruyère crepes and there was no overly heavy sauce, nice chunks of chicken and plenty of nicely sautéed mushrooms.

It took a little bit of time for me to warm up to Le Café, but after a couple of recent breakfasts here, they have officially won me over. The coffee is hot and plentiful, the food is tasty (I love the almond French toast), and service comes with a smile.
Le Café offers a variety of menu items, both sweet and savory. In addition to breakfast fare (which is served all day — bonus!), they also have salads, sandwiches, and soups, as well as the usual pastries and coffee menu that you expect from a café. Everyone should be able to find a tasty meal here, as they offer vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free items, and they are very accommodating when it comes to substitutions, though some substitutions do cost extra (egg whites instead of whole eggs, for example).
After watching many places open and close at this location, I hope Le Café is here to stay.

I was a regular at Le Café before I moved to Boston! I’m in love with this place! There’s always usually somewhere to sit and hang out for a bit as you are eating your breakfast. I love the spinach and feta omelette and of course their coffee. They have healthy (gluten free) options and great portions. Sometimes I am in a hurry and they are so good about giving me the food to go. The owners and staff are so friendly! It’s a great place to grab some coffee and do some work. Can’t wait to become a regular again when I move back next year! I miss you, Le Café!

What a surprise! I am back in the hood for a week, and I stopped by for breakfast. Amazing! The food is really tasty here, the service is friendly and on the mark, and the ambiance is just right — relaxed with a little style thrown in. I have had at least one meal here every day this week.
I remember a café that used to be in this location a few years ago. They displayed unappetizing pictures of food in the windows — bad lighting, off colors, shadows. I never wanted to venture inside.
This newer establishment offers a nice espresso service and elevated eats. Some of my favorites are the veggie omelette and amish chicken salad.
Only possible improvement I see could be some art or photography on the wall.
Finally there is a local Lincoln Square café that contends with and perhaps surpasses The Grind!

I’ve worked down the street from Le Café for nearly two years and I never stopped in as I assumed it was a regular café — I regret this now! On the recommendation of a client who owns a restaurant a block away a few coworkers and I tried the steak taco salad for lunch. It was amazing and left us all wanting more! You can tell they make their own dressing (I must have this recipe) and tortilla strips. The steak is also cooked very well and you receive a worthwhile portion. Our initial thought after reviewing the menu was that the price seemed a bit steep, but now we understand you are definitely paying for quality. It is also nice to see they have differentiated themselves from other cafes in the area with their impressive menu. I look forward to trying more of the food items and various drinks. It looked like they had more on their drink menu then what you find at a typical café.
I have been debating where to have a couple of breakfast appointments in the coming weeks and I think I found the winner!

I used to think that Le Café was mostly «meh» but it seems like they have really stepped up their game recently. The menu has become pretty inventive — for example, I recently had their churro french toast, and it was excellent! They also have a few dishes that you wouldn’t usually expect from a coffee shop (such as chilaquiles). And for those with Celiac or other gluten-​intolerance issues, they have a good (and increasing) number of gluten-​free options too.
Service can still be a little slow, but it seems like every time I go there it is crowded, so that’s to be expected a little. Depending on what you order, you can expect to pay $ 10 or more per person for food and a coffee. That is a little more expensive than what you’ll find at your typical coffee shop. But hey, at least they give you your first coffee refill for free!
There are three coffee shops within about a one-​block stretch: The Grind, Starbucks, and Le Café (and there’s also a Beans & Bagels over on Rockwell, plus Baker Miller has some good coffee on Western). It would seem to me that Lincoln Square has a caffeine addiction! A while ago, I thought that Le Café would for sure be a place that would disappear pretty quickly. But the more I go there, the better they seem to be getting. Glad they’re still around!

I was on a mission to find something that was open on New Year’s Day. I came across Le Café and walked in. It’s a really cute, warm little place. The food looked decent and the diners looked happy. I was greeted by a very nice gentlemen behind the counter and I asked him about vegan options. He said they could be very accommodating. I noticed that 2 of the 3 daily soup offerings were actually vegan. Not sure yet if I wanted to eat, I ordered a chai with almond milk. The chai was ok. It tasted very much like it came from a mix and didn’t have that kick I look for in a chai. On the good side it was very creamy and not too sweet, and the nice counter guy made it super hot. I think I’ll stop back another time for a bite to eat. I’m hoping for more than three stars.
