Loved the place and the service!
I got the roots done and my service provider was a great gal, very nice to talk to.
She gave me a complementary hand massage while conditioning my hair. I got complementary blow dry with my roots touch up and it was amazing.
The icing on the cake is this is «NO TIPS» store which makes it quite economical. I’d definitely be coming back!

First of all, I love all products Aveda!
Grace at Ladies and Gentlemen has been actually coloring my hair for at least the last 3 years! She is great, and I trust her ‘hair vision’ for me! I have never been disappointed! She has taken me from a natural dark brown to a beautiful ‘bronde’ balayage! Love!

I absolutely loved this salon. My stylist was Tyler and he did an amazing job with my highlights and color. He really took his time and paid attention to each foil. The color was spot on and exactly what I wanted. They also do complimentary facials and hand massages with your service. The atmosphere is very relaxing yet contemporary and open with large windows overlooking the action on State Street. The location in Block 27 in the heart of the Loop is also super convenient. I will be going back!

Every visit to this salon is like a vacation. From the relaxing waiting area to the hand massages, hot towels, and mini facials, this is an amazing hair cutting experience!

Sydney is a charm. She «gets» that what is being provided is a sense of ease and confidence with one’s appearance, and for the time while you are in her chair, there is nothing but understated empathy and competence coming from her. I’m stoping back when next in Chicago.
In fact, the entire staff are lovely from the moment you walk in the door.
On a practical note, Ladies & Gentlemen Salon and Spa is a «no-​tip» salon makes pricing simple. And that they price all cuts based on length of hair, not gender, is refreshing. A good men’s cut is no simpler or difficult than a pixie cut, and there is no reason why it should be priced differently.

Great location and very friendly staff. I came in with a terrible color/​bleach job from another salon– Raina helped me decide what to do next and helped soften my color. She did a great job! I will definitely be back– Love the Aveda products too! Thank you!

I found Ladies and Gentlemen Salon maybe 2 years ago or more?
1. I love that it is an Aveda Salon. 2. They do not accept tips so one less thing to worry about. In addition I find their staff to be the nicest! From the front of the house/​reception to Sal, the head stylist. Speaking of Sal he most recently had been my go to guy for my cuts and then I was diagnosed with Cancer– needing a treatment that most definitely would make my hair fall out. I decided to inquire with him about getting my hair colored purple to do something fun with it, that I would normally never do, before it fell out. Sal had me come in and he personally did my color and made it fun and added some light purple highlights and everything– it took a very long time for all that with all the hair I once had and when I went to check out– they wouldn’t let me pay! It is stuff like this that makes people great and makes for a great company that someone would want to be forever loyal to! So one day, when my hair comes back and I am not it treatments anymore I will go there and get the «works». I love this place!

I have gone here several times and seen Ashley, who has given me the best haircuts that I’ve had. Ashley is definitely a 5-​star stylist and very pleasant.
L & G, however, has recently raised its prices for my short men’s haircut from $ 50 to $ 70, which is outrageous, even in the City. As much as I love Ashley, a 40% price increase has forced me to go elsewhere. L & G corporate gets zero stars for this decision.

I have been going to see Ben whenever I am in town. He is a wonderful stylist. He always takes the time to listen to what I want, and understands. If I ever describe something I want to him and tell him to take his liberty in doing it, it always comes out exactly the way that I want. Go see Ben, you will not be disappointed.

I really love this place. I’ve gotten my hair cut here and have to say the mini facial and hand/​arm massage are always a welcomed treat. I’ve also come for a facial and pre-​natal massage. Both were really great and no pushy sales at the end.
The spa isn’t that big and they use curtains instead of doors for the rooms which doesn’t block out noise but everyone seems very respectful and the noise didn’t stop me from falling asleep. :)

Kerra Coticchia is the consummate professional. She possesses that rare combination of exceptional technical and communication skills so rare to find these days.
My hair is complicated and my relationship to it even more so. Kerra listened patiently and provided me a number of options… and not the most expensive one. The result — a cut and style I’ve always dreamed of, but never thought possible. REALLY.

I have been coming here for years and I love it! It is a wonderful respite just a few steps from the office. The setting is comfortable and it smells like perfection. Of course it does… it’s Aveda! I see Christine regularly for facials and waxing and we have built such a strong relationship. I trust her implicitly. She is WONDERFUL. I almost always fall asleep during my treatment and my skin and eyebrows always looks incredible. She really focuses on the areas that need attention and offers excellent recommendations and advice. I just adore her. I have had haircuts & blowouts here as well and they have always been decent.

My first haircut here per recommendation from colleague. I love my new haircut. The service from begining to end was top notch. The waiting room is a tranquil settinng with aveda teas and chakra sprays. My haircut with with Tyler Holland. He was so professional and sweet. I love my haircut!!! He also gave me a hand massage and mini facial (complimentary). I have received so many compliments already. I highly recommend. My first time here but won’t be my last.

This salon is awesome! I’ve been here for haircuts and massages, and I’ve only had great experiences. (Brianna is freaking amazing at massages!!)
(Side Note: I look like I’m 16 but I’m 26, so a lot of the times people will treat me like I’m 16 and ask questions that you would ask a teenager and do the side-​glance to see if my parents are going to walk in to pay for the bill, but they don’t do that here!)
I go to Sal, who is AWESOME at hair. Long story short, I’m Asian so I have Asian hair, so it took a lot out of me to go to a non-​Asian stylist because I’ve had horrible results before. I’m really indecisive and impulsive (I booked an appointment on a whim) with my hair and probably confuse hair stylists because I don’t ever know what I want, but I knew I wanted a bob. I let him do whatever he thought would look good because I mean, a hair stylist should know what looks good according to face shapes, right? Actually I take that back, a LOT of hair stylists don’t know and I’ve had really bad haircuts. But Sal did his thing and it was AWESOME. I got a lot of compliments!
Fast forward a couple of months and my hair starts to grow out. (Btw, having short hair costs $$$$$) Sal was booked and I hate waiting around for an appointment so I made an appointment with someone else (who is really sweet, nice, and awesome!!) but I wasn’t really happy with the results. She gave me layers, which made my hair frizzy and poofy. I called the salon a couple of days later because I just couldn’t handle the frizz and Sal fixed it, FOR FREE. He didn’t look annoyed or do a quick job because I wasn’t paying. It was like I was getting a fresh new haircut.
The only downfall is that he is on the pricy side because he’s the director, but I guess that’s the price I have to pay for having an awesome haircut AND maintaining short hair.
I just made an appointment with him (for color this time!) because you know, I’m impulsive with my hair, and I kind of trust that he’ll make it look awesome.

I found my new salon! This was a great experience. It is convenient to work and easy to make appointments online. The staff was really friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be working there. I was going in for some corrective color, highlights, and a cut. BEN IS SUPER AWESOME. He was really patient, listened to what I wanted, offered advice, and was really knowledgeable about color. I’ve gotten so many compliments on my color and cut — in fact, three of my co-​workers asked for his information and I was able to send him some referrals already! Which makes me really happy — because I was informed this is a no tip salon (what??) and referrals are the best tip. :)

I stopped in to Ladies & Gentlemen for a Men’s Haircut one evening and was really impressed with the space and the friendly staff when I entered. It was great to be able to book the appointment online.
Everything seemed to go well, I was offered a complimentary massage as well as beverage, which seems to be pretty standard among salons like this. My stylist though, I don’t know if she just got excited or something, but she completely hacked off one side of my hair around the ear, leaving it mostly bald and not matching the other side. At the end, I looked at it and said it looked to be a bit uneven, her response was «Oh, sorry.» with no effort to rectify it at all.

Awesome deep tissue massage! Brianna (Bri) was so professional and knowledgeable. She eased the tension that has been bothering me for months, and we talked about what caused the tension/​how to prevent. Her technique was magical.
The décor was private, graceful, and luxurious. The entire atmosphere is serene and relaxing. This is the first place I will go to when I’m back in town!

This is my third time going to Ladies & Gentlemen, and I really like this place! It’s an Aveda salon, which means that the products they use are made up from naturally derived ingredients. That’s always a plus in my book.
The salon is located in Block 37 on the third floor, I think. It’s a really good location, and the salon overlooks Sate street.
The receptionists are always very welcoming. They offer you hot tea, water or coffee when you check in, and if you have a coat, they take it for you. Great customer service! The waiting area is very relaxing and cozy.
I’ve gotten my hair cut by Ashley the last two times, and she does a great job. She’s really nice and always listens to what I want. I’m always worried I’ll have too much taken off when I go for a trim, but she really takes off just the right amount. Plus, if she doesn’t take off as much as you wanted, she’ll cut a little more when your hair is dry. At the end, she always asks if I need any products, but she’s never pushy.
I’ll definitely be coming back again! The appointments are really easy to make online.

It took me three hair stylists in Chicago before I found Ashley at the Ladies & Gentlemen Salon and Spa. Ashley has been doing my hair for the last two years and I love her! She listens to exactly how I want my hair cut or trimmed and always does a great job. Plus when I wanted a new hair style, it came out looking stylish and really good. I love the mini facial or hand/​arm massage that is offered after getting your hair washed. I always opt for the massage!
Overall, this is a wonderful salon in a central location. Reservations are really easy to make (I always do mine online) and the front desk staff is always friendly.
