It took an eternity for my perch dinner to arrive at this«fast food» joint, as I sat sweating like a rotisserie chicken in the afternoon sun. But my imagination says the wait was on account of them throwing the first 49 fried perch back into the sea so they could give me the 50th and most perfect fried perch ever perched on a styrofoam tray. Side of collard greens was pleasantly rustic and mac and cheese was just what I expected it’d be.

Jimmie G’s has the best soul food in the City!!! Yesterday I had some Jimmie G’s and I was extremely pleased. The chicken was absolutely perfect and it dropped right off of the bone. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect meal. Jimmie G’s had some delicious macaroni and cheese and the corn bread taste just like I was down south. I will recommend this place to anyone on the westside.

EGP residents have few options for good restaurants. Jimmy Gs’ is a wonderful place to get fried chicken wings, smoked BBQ Tips and Ribs and Chicken, steamtable soul food. Wings are CHEAP and DELICIOUS. Wed has a $ 1 piece thigh and leg special! Sometimes they run out before 6 or 7pm. Nightly at 9pm a $ 1 package of food is sold to local homeless.(If you truly want to do something for someone down and out… go and buy someone a meal). Jimmy and his wife are nice people who care about the community. There is lots of carryout here. Wings and Fries are a deal.

The food is awesome! I had the turkey wing dinner. The candied yams were soo tastee. Greens and peach cobbler was delicious as well. The décor is lacking… but i guess the food is actually what counts! Don’t plan to eat there. Best option is pickup.

I ordered delivery from Jimmy G’s as I was looking for a good local neighborhood BBQ place. I ordered a full slab of ribs. While they didn’t knock my socks off, they were certainly decent by most standards but not the kind of thing that would work someone up into a frenzy and stand in line for hours(think Smoque). Regardless, if your in this neighborhood it’s a far better option then the local convenient store or pharmacy!

Delicious and cheap home-cooked(by Mama G herself) soul food! Take it to go or eat there, but be warned, the neighborhood can be a little rough, so go in the daytime. Try the chicken tips(a healthier alternative to traditional rib tips). Comes with two sides. My vote is for the mac ‘n cheese and candied yams. Comes with a free side of peach cobbler… yummy! I’ve heard the turkey hot links(another healthier choice) are also delicious…

THEBESTCHICKENINTOWN!!! This chicken will beat Harold’s anyday. You don’t even have to have any sauce to make this chicken good because the seasoning on it is sooooooo delicious. Harold’s please send one of your representatives to this restaurant, so they can teach you guys what chicken should taste like.

Yummy burgers on a toasted bun. The chicken looks good. I am going to have to order again for a better review because once again, one of the guys brought a surprise burger and all I know is that it is way yummy.
