I don’t know what I would do without Dr. Herron! He has been my doctor for about 30 years, and he still spends his time on research to keep up with the latest. He isn’t just a money generating machine for a hospital. He is very caring and thorough and will spend time with you to explain his rcommendations and why he has made them.

Over the phone, I told Dr. Herron’s receptionist that I was diagnosed with an ulcer and needed a gastroenterologist. She told me he was indeed that kind of a doctor and I set up a very important appointment to get an order for an endoscopy to ensure the ulcer is not bleeding or worse.
When I arrived I noticed right away the office reeked of fresh paint. They looked like they just set up shop the night before– not that much of a ‘medical’ setting, more like ‘the cheapest office we could find next to a gym.” A sign informed me to ring a bell, which I did, and the receptionist called out from another room, «Just a minute!» The room was completely empty for 5 or so minutes and then I noticed the big sign: «Dr. James Herron: INTERNAL MEDICINE.»
When the receptionist returned I asked if Dr. Herron was a gastroenterologist. She said «Yeah, he’s board-​certified, but he can’t give you an order for a ‘scope.’ I guess I should have told you that over the phone so… yeah, we won’t charge you for an office visit.» (I should think not) «Here’s the number to another gastroenterologist.» It didn’t work, the number was disconnected. That was the last help offered and I left as sick as ever, but more annoyed and 7 dollars lighter from parking.
Sometimes I wonder about charging doctors fees when they disappoint me. I guess the fee would be 7 dollars in this case, but I wouldn’t care if this guy fell from the face of the Earth or showed up at my doorstep with the 7 bucks or ANYTHING.
I really just hope my ulcer doesn’t bleed before I get to a REAL gastroenterologist. Board certified doesn’t seem to mean much these days.
As a note I have no experience with this professional as an Internal Medicine Man. I’m speaking as a person who desperately needs a gastroenterologist to someone who might also be in the same position as me. Don’t count on this guy.

For over 25 years, I have been getting put back together again, by Dr. Herron. He has always been in the same location. Well, to my horrors, after I was out of town for a spell, he moved… thankfully, it is still in the same neighborhood.
This is a family business that has been around for a very long time.
Dr. Herron is a compassionate, caring doctor. I hope he will continue treating me as he has, for so many years. plus the parking is a vast improvement, and convenient.
