Illinois Department Of Labor

Me and 2 other nurses worked over time. We worked as private duty nurses, taking care of a baby, that was sent home, but still needed lots of medical attention. The company we worked for paid all of us for 40 hours. The over time hours were paid as straight time from a different company. This other company paid me and the other 2 nurses the straight time for the over time. We had never heard of this company before. We had never even applied to this other company. We all filed complaints with the Il. dept of labor to get paid the time and a half we were due. The Il. dept of labor some how sided with the company.

This is a Government money making company why would I expect anything different lazy under worked Over paid and useless from the investigators to the legal department to the head moron Hugo (director) you should all be fired and arrested becomes No one is this dumb All of you are dirty crooks looking to make a buck
What goes around Comes around!

This state office is very poorly ran! They do not answer the phone most of the time! Also they do not seem to know what they are doing!
This agency is supposed to protect the rights of workers but the wheels turn extremely slow! If you file a claim and the employer disputes it it can take another 4 months before any action is finished!
It took over a month after I filed a claim before even getting a letter back saying that the claim was received!
It was another 3 weeks later before my employer received a letter!
Now I am told that my employer has till the end of March to respond!
If they dispute this which I know they will then a hearing is scheduled! Who knows when the hearing will be!
And after the hearing another 60 to 90 days for a decision!
The laws are supposed to protect the worker but they move so slow at this agency!
