I began working in the mortgage industry 13 years ago as a Senior Loan Officer at Lakeshore Funding. In 2005, I became a Vice President of Mortgage Lending at Guaranteed Rate.

With thirteen years of experience as a loan officer, I have personally originated thousands of mortgages totaling hundreds of millions of dollars. Whether they’re a first time home buyer or refinancing for the hundredth time, I am always honest and open with my clients without using any pressure tactics. In addition to providing extremely competitive rates to buyers and homeowners, I help to educate clients on mortgage products and their best financing options to make sure clients are informed and comfortable throughout the entire process. I simply present the best options I can offer and let them decide what might be their best fit. We have worked with Ian 2 times, and would definitely work with him again. He goes above and beyond.
When we purchased our place, he showed up at closing and stayed with us just to be sure everything went as it should. That did not happen with our previous purchase.
When interest rates dropped, Ian contacted us to let us know and see if we were interested in refinancing. During the refinancing process, we discovered that my husband’s credit report was falsely showing delinquent charges and as a result, he did not qualify to refinance. Ian went above and beyond in helping us get the issue resolved and ensuring that we were able to refinance at a great interest rate.

My experience with Guaranteed rate was one I hope I never have to go through again. Ian Beamer and Guaranteed rate were recommended to me by a neighbor who used them to obtain a mortgage.
Ian was extremely helpful and responsive until the mortgage application was filled out. Once the application was submitted he was nearly impossible to reach. He wouldn’t answer or return phone calls from me or my real estate agent. The only way I could get in contact with him was by calling the corporate office and letting them know he was not being responsive and they would connect me to him.
The document collection process was also a hassle and was very unorganized. Guaranteed Rate was constantly asking for additional documentation all the way up to several hours before the originally scheduled closing date.
My closing date was delayed due to the disorganization within the company and Ian’s lack of communication. I felt as if Ian and Guaranteed rate thought of me as just a number and didn’t really care if the seller was going to charge me for the closing being delayed.
The closing package was received at the closing lawyer’s office after they had already closed and they had to scramble at the last minute to get it closed before the holidays.
