History

Established in 1952.

The High Ridge YMCA is a 27,443 square feet and is full service facility including membership, aquatics, childcare, gymnasium, babysitting, and fitness. The primary market area has a total population of 178,609 which includes 69,745 households. The population and households have decreased by 21% since 2005. With more than 92 different languages spoken in our community, our diversity is what truly makes our YMCA unique.

In The Rogers Park primary market area, residents the High Ridge YMCA members and primary market area are reflective of a diverse community. The primary market median household income is $ 46,448 and average head of household is 47.1years of age. The current recession has hit the community hard as evidence in $ 230K in income based membership scholarships and 27K in financial program assistance.

Meet the Manager

Rene S.

Manager

Rene Sanchez was recently hired as Executive Director for the High Ridge YMCA in Chicago, IL. Rene previously worked for the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles for eight years, most recently as the Director of Member Relations for the Westside Family YMCA in Los Angeles, CA. Rene was the Co-​Chair for the YMCA of the USA’s 2011 Emerging Multicultural Leadership Experience and also serves on the YMCA of the USA’s 2012 Program EXPO Planning Committee.
