Quality of work was pretty bad. Had some basement work done recently, from the «suspect» reviews on here decided to use this company. First impressions of the owner had me wondering about the company instantly. Should have trusted my instincts. I regret ever using this company. I would avoid at all costs.

I have been through two previous Contractors for what SHOULD have been a relatively simple, straight-​forward highrise condo renovation on bathrooms.
We found Cornel and his team and they have been 100% excellent, so far. They communicate (which is key to me), show up early and stay late, go the extra mile to do the right thing, and the quality of their work is exceptional. I will post final pictures when their work is done. They weren’t the least expensive and weren’t the most either.
I don’t know what happened to others who wrote reviews, and I know how it feels to work with contractors who are more work than progress. My experience has been superb and I plan on calling Harmonious for all of my renovation needs.

We had the opposite of a «Harmonious» experience with this group. They seem to have some good reviews for other jobs, but as painters, it was a disaster. I should clarify that in the end we think the paint looks OK (a few spots around edges and under mirrors that look rough) and the painters themselves were friendly. However the process to get to the point of near-​satisfaction was not worth it. I could write for days about everything that was wrong, but I will try to keep it brief.
1) The quote process was awful. The quote was extremely vague and they asked us to provide our own primer and rosen paper/​tape. We had to go back and forth with them about why it made no sense for us to try to estimate the amount of tape/​paper/​primer needed to cover a home and finally they charged us $ 133 for «sundries» for this cost. Upon arrival on the morning of, they did not provide primer and the contractor asked me why I didnt buy the primer.
2) We chose to buy our own paint because there was a 30% off sale at Sherman Williams. We asked multiple times how much paint to buy and we just received a blanket «two cans per room» despite the fact they came out to «measure» (this meant a 30 second walk through the place). Well, let me tell you that our bathrooms are different sized than our kitchen, den and two other bedrooms. Needless to say, we spent hours at the paint shop trying to figure out the calculation and ended up being a little off. The painters seemed annoyed that we didn’t have the correct amount of paint. in the end, we wasted a lot of paint.
3) Without writing a book I will say there is no costumer service or friendliness. Cornel is unprofessional and rude.
4) The painters drank our beer and took a coat hook rail that we asked them to take down (not take with) before painting.
5) Upon finishing (which required me asking them if they were finished), we had to 1) ask for an invoice 2) ask for our keys back (why would they not just leave on the mantel instead of driving back to leave on the mantel days later?).
I had a bad feeling about them from the start but we really had no choice because all other places we checked into were booked on short notice (now I know why). If you want a hassle, go with Harmonious. Otherwise, run.

We hired Harmonious to install a granite countertop in our bathroom. We had a terrible experience — one of the worst. We picked up a faucet from the store which was recommended by Ron and had it at the home on the day of install. Ron said the countertop would be installed and then a plumber would come by and install the faucet after that. The man who was installing the granite installed the granite and then acted confused and said he thought he was installing the faucet. The beginning of the miscommunications. I said that Ron told me that a plumber was coming by to do this. Later that afternoon a person came to install the faucet. He was in the bathroom for an hour when I went up to check if everything was okay. I saw that he had removed a very expensive mirror from the bathroom wall without permission and it was propped on the floor in the bathroom. He then said that he didn’t have the right parts and would need to make a trip to Home Depot. I called Ron to ask if this individual was a licensed plumber. He said no, that would be expensive. Ron did not address my concerns and was instead accusatory and said he did not have his best men on the job that day and that was my fault for scheduling the countertop to be installed on this day. Ron told me it was my fault that I had purchased a complicated faucet and that it wasn’t standard. I told Ron that I went to the faucet store he recommended and used the individuals name he provided to purchase the faucet so I wasn’t sure what I had done wrong. After a few trips to Home Depot, 5 hours later I was told the faucet was in. I called Ron to discuss the situation (whom was just an ear on the phone — never met him and not once did he attempt to make things right or offer an apology). He just keep reassuring me that it was probably just fine and I needed to be patient. He insisted that everything was being done perfectly and that it was our fault for purchasing the wrong faucet, that he had done us a favor and the payment was hardly covering the cost for the granite. In the end, now we have to hire a licensed plumber to come out and inspect the work and fix the mistakes. Ron does not value his customers or put in the effort to make things right, he is unprofessional and I would not recommend using his company. I am unsure why a licensed plumber wasn’t used in the first place and why a project managers view point/​opinion was not provided on the day of installation or prior.

Quality of the work is great and nice team. They were awesome for the first 2 – 3 days and 80%, even did a great job keeping the floors clean and cleaning up. Then it dragged on and they came back multiple times to finish the last 20%. Since they acted like they were done and took up the floor protectors, floors were messy. Also, as another reviewer stated, NO general contractor on site. We were directing the workers with a lot of miscommunication and misunderstanding. This was not very «harmonious»

1-​Rehang original slab doors for both bath & closet with new hinges and knobs.
2-​Paint both doors and door frames for bath and closet (these are the original doors, I wish for them to look new again)
3-​Replace two door stoppers
4-​replace/​wirer broken light fixture in hall closet
5-​Re-​Secure broken towel rack in bathroom
6-​Replace caulking around tub
6-​Paint baseboards (400sq feet)

Recently used this company to add a backsplash and under cabinet lighting to my kitchen. The work was speedy and high quality. Timeline of events was incredible.
Called Friday, Estimate Saturday, Samples brought to my home Monday, Work began Tuesday, Work completed Wednesday. DONE! How quick is that? I liked that Cornell offered suggestions for the style. I trusted his opinion and it turned out great!

Two stars simply because the workers (always a different person that shows up to do the work) actually do a fine job. But Ron is unprofessional. If you want to be the contractor on the job and walk the workers through the work that needs completed, hire Ron. He is a flat, confused voice on the othe end of the phone that just tells you what you owe… with hidden charges of course! Don’t bother.

Ron and Team did a real good job at our Chicago Condo in downtown. Very professional workers and Ron was very approachable for issues and variances.
We loved all the work that’s done in our Unit and will definitely recommend Team Ron to serve you for remodeling.
All 3 bathroom tiles, fittings and shower door installation was done very neatly.
Kitchen flashers and other fittings with house coloring laminate flooring was also appreciable.

We requested a quote for some work from Harmonious, on the day they were to arrive, we were told they couldn’t make it, to take pictures, email them, and they would get a quote. I should have taken this as a sign. After getting the quote and the fact they could begin work in 2 weeks, we hired them to do the work, after all it was rebuilding 2 walls and painting, nothing too extreme.
From day 1 we had issues. Since no one came out to give the quote, Ron arrived to tell us that we weren’t clear in our request and the price was going up a lot. The good thing about email, it’s all documented. We were treated like idiots, and as if we had no idea what was going on. Keep in mind my father is a contractor in another state, so I’ve learned a lot growing up around it, and consulted with him several times. I do however have a full time job, and when it comes to stuff like this, my motto has always been «Let the professionals handle it, after all it is their job». After arguing with the owner for about an hour on what we needed/​wanted done, and what the cost would be, work began. We were told 7 – 10 days, it ended up being just over 2 weeks. We had 2 guys, 1 was painting while the other was rebuilding the walls. Certain days only 1 guy would show up, and other days no one was there. We weren’t notified, we had to call and ask what was going on, we were only told they had other jobs to do. Several times we asked for someone in management to come and review the work as it seemed to be incorrect. Only once did anyone come out to address our issues. After that the only time we saw Ron was when he wanted his money (although the work wasn’t even done). The quality of the painting was decent, but the rebuild on the walls was terrible. The outlets aren’t flush and the crown molding wasn’t installed correctly (already big gaps showing). Once Ron got his money we never heard from him again, he never addressed our issues with the wall and wouldn’t return any calls.

We found Harmonious Decorating & Remodeling on Angie’s List and decided to hire them to redo our bathroom that was in DIRE need of help.
Ron was fantastic in getting us a very reasonable quote really quickly and after coming over to take a look at the bathroom assured us that it would be absolutely no problem at all to make the bathroom better than ever.
His contractor came in to do all the work, and was fantastic! We had everything but the tub and the mirror on the wall ripped out and the results are even better than I had hoped. We got new tile around the shower, new tile on the floors, new vanity, new faucet, new storage, the walls and the ceiling were painted — and I absolutely LOVE it!
Huge thanks to everyone at Harmonious Decorating & Remodeling for making our bathroom the best room in our apartment (so far) and we’ll be calling you soon about the flooring, the kitchen, painting, etc., etc., etc. :)

I had my living room and kitchen painted after buying a groupon earlier this month. The painter arrived 2 minutes ahead of schedule and did a great job. Would definitely hire them again!

They are great! Fair prices, excellent work and conscientious. Couldn’t ask for more!
