So many people ask me, how did a guy from Beijing, China, with an MBA from the Wharton School, end up owning a Chicago house cleaning services? I chuckle every time I’m asked because I think of all my classmates who are working in pinstripe suits on Wall Street or are now big powerful lawyers in gigantic corporations, and I simply smile.

I am Wells Ye, the owner of Fresh Tech Maid I have an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. I founded the company in 2009, in the middle of the worst recession since the Great Depression.

Now, the company has become the leader in Chicago house cleaning services and Chicago maid service. Fresh Tech Maid was voted the Best House Cleaning Service and Maid Service in Chicago, Arlington Heights, and Evanston by the Best Pick Report. This service solicits heavily for Unilocal reviews. They say they will give their maids an extra $ 20 bonus if they can convince you to write a review for them. Phone calls, emails, texts etc… they don’t stop. This is certainly not what Unilocal should be about. I steer clear of these type of places that try to «milk» social media for their benefit.

The cleaning crew did ok. They did not do a good job cleaning my floors. Every room still had dirt on the floor. I needed to swiffer after they left. They used the vacuum brush on my wood floors and scratched the finish. Some of my mirrors were still not clean.
The major problem I had was the downtown parking issue. The ladies brought 2 cars down to the John Hancock building and I was told by Rachel (I assume that she is their supervisor) that it is my responsibility to pay for lot parking and the company would pay for meter parking. Since one car took 1 hour to park on the street, the other car chose one of the most expensive lots to park in, The Westin. After they finished cleaning and went to get their car, the lot would not take payment from their company credit card over the phone. Rachel the supervisor, called me to BRING $ 27.00 IN CASH OR CREDIT CARD down to the lot TO PAY FOR THEIR PARKING so that these ladies can get their car. I needed to get ready for dinner and I had no cash. I also had no desire to get dressed to walk to a parking lot to pay a ridiculous amount of money for a downtown lot that I would not even park in because of the high price.
I really felt bad for the workers that this company is so uncaring of its employees. The idea of forcing them to drive around for an hour to look for meter parking. I could have ignored the call and left them to get their car out however because my contract is with fresh tec maids, not the maids themselves. It was not negotiated when I booked that I would have to physically go and pay for parking of the maid’s choice or that I would have to pay for parking period. This was an expense that I would never had agreed upon when booking as well as the time that was taken from my day to walk to the parking lot and pay for their parking. I am dissatisfied with this company as a whole and most importantly its LACK OF RESPECT FOR ITS EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS. I suggest to them that they invest in a van to drop the maids off downtown for jobs, which is what most cleaning services do that work in the downtown area.
I will never use their services again and I RECOMMEND THAT ANYONE WHO LIVES IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA AVOID THEM AS WELL.

Oh how I love coming home from work to a sparkling clean house without the chemical smell! Yodit does a fantastic job on our home each month and that is no easy task considering our toddler flings food at every meal and our cat sheds constantly.
The company itself is wonderful to work with. They are always responsive, professional, and reliable. I can’t say enough great things about this company. I would recommend their services to anyone.

I had my first experience with Fresh Tech Maid’s and everything was cleaned as I asked and then some. I had Lizbeth and I would definitely request her again. She did some extra things like disinfect the doorknobs (for us and the kiddos), wash down doors, and even folded laundry.

Glenda and Jocelyn cleaned for us two weeks ago and for some reason the review didn’t post, so posting now. They did a great job especially considering they’ve never cleaned the house before. On time, friendly, thorough … What’s not to like? Fresh tech always delivers.
This week, Izzy was here to clean. Again, our usual tech Felicia (who rocks) was not available so much his was Izzy’s first time cleaning for us. She did a spectacular job. This seems to be par for the course for Fresh Tech Maids.

Easy 5 stars for the convenience and effort of Fresh Tech Maid, specifically Caeli who cleaned my studio like a magician. After my building agreed to pay for professional cleaning of my studio because it wasn’t cleaned well enough when I moved in, I was referred to Fresh Tech Maid by a friend who had them clean his new house before he moved in. I almost went with King of Maids, but after he showed me the terrible job they did, I decided to go with Fresh Tech Maid instead.
I booked the cleaning all online with no problem, and everything was reasonably priced. $ 156 for my modest studio in Lakeview, which included cleaning inside of my oven and fridge.
They gave me a window of 11:30 — 1:30am. At almost 12:00pm, Caeli arrived. She was very friendly, asked me if there were any areas I wanted her to focus. I pointed out some of the harder to clean areas on the stove and mentioned the bathroom had some hairspray residue that was difficult to get off. She estimated that it should take about 2 hours. With that, I bid her adieu and let her do her thang while I killed time.
An hour later, she texted me saying that some of the residue on the outside of the fridge was going to be more difficult than she thought, so she said she’d let me know when she was close to done.
I’d forgotten that I was having a TV delivered that day, but thankfully Caeli was home and signed for the delivery while I was out. SO thankful she helped me avoid the game of tag that happens when you miss a delivery.
At about 4:30, Caeli texted me that everything was done. Coming home almost felt like walking into someone else’s place! Everything looked like new, yet everything was as I left it. If she moved anything to clean it, I couldn’t tell, but I could tell *EVERYTHING* was cleaner. My oven and stove top look like they’ve never been used. My bathroom is so clean that I wouldn’t have to hesitate if my mom asked to use it.
Basically, if you need professional cleaning or simply want your place to sparkle a bit, I highly recommend Fresh Tech Maid, and can absolutely vouch for Caeli’s work.

A two-​technician team (Christina and Yodit) performed a move-​out cleaning on our (now-​former) apartment.
Great job… they arrived on time, brought all their gear, and attended to the details our landlord will surely notice (baseboards, oven, fridge etc.). Efficient and friendly. We’d work with Fresh Tech again. I’ve never seen the bathroom floor as clean as they managed to get it. :)
All that’s keeping this from being a five-​star review is a minor invoice issue I’m waiting to see resolved, and an extra «Hey, how did we do?» call, after I responded to the first one. Nothing major. They’re great — two thumbs up!

Great service! Melissa and Yodit did a great job and helped me stand up to my landlord when dealing with a mildew problem in the basement. Really good customer service, they give you a phone call partway through to give you an update. Their online booking service was so helpful and I was able to have them come in at a short notice.

Outstanding. In every way. Rachel, Sue and the whole team were great. They were able to overcome some scheduling hiccups and got my placed deep-​cleaned. I really appreciated their dedication to customer service.
The final job was great. My condo needed a deep clean as I got ready for my new tenant and they didn’t disappoint.

I have had Fresh Tech at my condo twice now. The first time was great, The floors were spotless and every surface was completely dusted. The second time however was a complete disappointment. The carpets and rugs were only partially vacumed, and the floors were absolutely not mopped. The space along the bottom of the kitchen cabinets were completely untouched. Also the furniture was only partially dusted.
The scheduler admin also has issues. The first time I couldn’t get a answer as to what to do with my key. For the second visit I emailed Susan the scheduler early in the week to see when my next visit was scheduled. After not receiving a response for a few days I called the office and left a voicemail around 1:00 on a Friday afternoon. I then received a automated text on Monday saying Melissa was going to return to clean on Thursday. Tuesday I finally get a return phone call from Susan saying Melissa is not coming on Thursday because she is no longer with the company but they have someone who can come on Wednesday. I rearranged my schedule to be able to take my dog to daycare at the last minute only to be completely disappointed with the poor service I received.
If Melissa would have returned I would have no complaints and would be willing to tolerate the poor communication on the part of the scheduler.
