History

Established in 2013.

Sarah and Sandy have over 35 years of experience in treating complex orthopedic, neurologic and musculoskeletal injuries.

We established this clinic to provide individual and complete care to those in need. We feel quality physical therapy is the best resource for returning to a healthy lifestyle.

Business Owner

Sandy graduated from Pacific University (Oregon) in 1988 with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Des Moines University in December 2013. She has worked in multiple settings across the US with neurologic and orthopaedic emphasis combining these with a focus in pelvic rehabilitation for pain and dysfunction since 1995. Sandy has teaches Health Professionals and Community Education classes on returning to function following back and pelvic pain, assisted with Myofascial Release education, and co-​teaches Advanced Level Male Pelvic Floor Evaluation and Treatment. Sandy’s clinical interest is chronic pain with a particular interest in complex pelvic pain disorders for men and women. Sandy is also pursuing opportunities for collaboration in research into the clinical treatment of pelvic pain conditions.

Sandy brings science and common sense together beautifully to help people learn to help themselves.

Outstanding! I hurt myself working out too much. Dr. Haag was amazing. I had been struggling with pain for 8 weeks. She did not inundate me exercise but gave me 1 active stretch and I started feeling better immediately. Best PT I have ever seen. Plus she is super nice and will answer all of your questions by email.

Sandy and Sarah are the best physical therapists I’ve ever seen, after 12 years in pain (that’s a LOT of providers!). Their office is comfortable and doesn’t feel like a mill (i.e., their schedule isn’t so jammed that patients are kept waiting and rushed out the door). They always take the time needed to explain something, answer questions, or explore an issue in greater depth. I came to Sandy in 10⁄10 pelvic pain, and she provided the reassurance, confidence, and gentle treatment required to help me recover. Pelvic pain’s a really challenging condition, and Sandy demystified it, was respectful, and has a great (and necessary!) sense of humor. I always felt 100% comfortable with her, and I have always felt that she’s my partner through recovery, rather than someone who just «does stuff to me» at my appointments. I’ve also done yoga with Sarah dozens of times, and it provides an amazing transition from being a disabled patient to an active person again. Their schedule is flexible and accommodating, and they’re there when you need them — they’re especially wonderful about that with your first visit! They know that if you’re calling for an appointment, you must need to see them, and they make you a priority. They are also very committed to continuing education, which means they’re always up-​to-​date on their field and recent studies. Lastly, I LOVE that they don’t take insurance — their treatment is catered 100% to what I need (not what my insurance company requires), their rates are reasonable, and they give me everything I need to submit them for reimbursement. I can’t provide them with a stronger recommendation — they’re doing everything right and are both amazing human beings and PTs.

I have had agonizing back pain for 7 months. I was seeing a highly regarded physical therapist at Body Gears that I have great respect for. However, after paying out of pocket for 2 months going 3x/​week, I was no better than before seeing her. I was giving up hope and looking at things like PRP and stem cell injections for chronic arthritis of my back. I am 44 years old and was not happy about having such a painful back. Within 10 minutes of taking a look at me– she said she was very confident she could help me. Having just spent 2 months getting nowhere with a great therapist, I was highly skeptical. She had me do some basic back stretches that were so simple that I looked at her like she was crazy when she told me it will help me. Since starting treatment days ago, my back is 80% better. It is something that continues to get better daily. Instead of 10 different exercises that I spent 90 minutes/​day on which did not help my back, I do mild stretching exercises that help tremendously. I swam for the first time in 8 months. It may sound too simple to be true– but I would have saved 2 months and about $ 2500 (I pay out of pocket) had I seen Sara first. She said she could help me with only a few visits. I told her she had a horrible business model!!! She said, «It lets me sleep well at night.» This is the physical therapist you want. As a physician myself, I know there are some people a cut above and can see things in a different way. Entropy fits that mold.

Practitioners are good but seem to be gone at «conferences» about once a month or so (including 2 straight weeks in February). Don’t take insurance so you have to submit yourself if you want reimbursement.

First the details. EPW is on the third floor of the building. You get buzzed in so be prepared for that. For handicapped purposes, I would suggest to park further north as the curb in front of the building is tall. There is a parking lot just north of the building but I think it’s private. I usually park curbside by the parking lot so I can utilize the apron for the walker/​wheelchair.
My wife who has MS actually goes here for PT and she LOVES it! Sarah is very nice and very caring about my wife’s individual needs. She devices different exercises for her to do to suit her strength and fatigue levels. I would highly, highly recommend this place for physical therapy.

Love this place! How could you not with $ 5 yoga?! I attend Sarah’s yoga classes and she is the sweetest, kindest person and really cares how I am feeling emotionally and physically. Before walking into Entropy, I had never done a stitch of yoga. She made me feel so at ease. I love the whole experience there.

From the minute you walk in, Entropy has a very calming feeling to it, like you just know you are going to feel better when you leave. The studio space is lovely and so are the treatment rooms. But what’s much more important is the standard of care you receive while there and I wish I could give it more than five stars. I followed Sarah from her previous work because there is no way I would ever see another PT. Someone who listens? Check. Someone who truly cares about your well-​being? Check. Someone who knows a HECK of a lot about the science of pain and helping to get yourself better, mind & body? Check. And someone who doesn’t let a patient’s negative crappy catastrophic attitude get in the way of her helping to improve your quality of life? Double-​check. If you want to be treated as a person and reap the therapeutic benefits of caring folks at the top of their field, then give Entropy a try.

I attended a yoga class at Entropy taught by Patty Swiatly. They have a wonderful office with lots of warm relaxing space.
The yoga class was gentle and restorative, so it was perfect for a beginner like me. Patty took us through some stretching to start and then led us in some very relaxing yoga. This class ended with a few restorative poses.
I’m looking forward to class next week and hope Patty continues her monthly series of classes.
