Found it completely by accident as I was zigzagging through traffic on Archer from Midway toward the Stevenson. The name was intriguing so I circled the block until I could find a parking spot. Interior was cute, kinda beach-kitchy and super clean. Had the Piña Rellena: this rocks! Seafood(fish, octopus, nice-sized shrimp, bits of bacon and pineapple smothered in cheese and roasted in a pineapple half. Served with avocado and rice and eaten like a taco. Delicious!

It’s a really small place but it’s BEYOND clean. The kitchen is in full view so you can see everything that’s going on, which I can appreciate. Service is awesome, with all the waitresses being super attentive. Food is delicious, really recommend Camarones sarandeados. No matter how many seafood restaurants I try, I always come back to this one!

One of my favorite marisco places. My favorite are the camarones ala diabla… the rice on the dishes is so good as for the jaiva salad, and the buttered bread mmmm: P only cons are that its a bit small, the neighborhood is not that great and they only offer street parking. I still give them 5 stars though!

We came here for a gathering and the service was excellent! The food was very good too. We had langostinos as an appetizer and they were delicious! My husband who doesn’t like sea food ordered a Filete Sarandeado and he loved it! I ordered a coctel de pulpo and Camaron and it was great too! I also has a casuelita which is an alcoholic beverage with tequila, lime, orange and grapefruit slices. .it was sooooo yummy!!! Overall we all enjoyed our food. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because during our time there two musicians, a man selling flowers and a woman selling cds came in asking if we wanted to buy. It was a bit annoying, even though I appreciate the fact that they were working. Other than. The this is a nice place for mexican sea food.

Delicious fresh seafood made to order. My shrimp diablo was on the sweeter side but still good. Wish it was more spicy. My friends fish was awesome!

The only one of the restaurants over on that corner that accepts credit /debit cards. This place serves seafood only. I ordered a ceviche tostada. It was served cold as are all of the tostadas. I did like it. I also had three tilapia tacos, cooked crispy and to golden brown, very delicious. I would try it again.

I walked in this place 45 minutes before closing. The waitress still very nice. For a sea food place we got fast service. The food was delicious. I got the Cajun grilled butterfly shrimp and my friend got the filete relleno. Their limited on drinks(I do my best to stay away from soda). It’s BYOB place.

Terrible food. Restaurant could use a cleaning. They also need to buy new dishes. They are all made of very old plastic. My sister ordered the breaded shrimp– the picture says it all. We were a group of 7 people. Everyone had a problem with their food. None of the shrimp was cleaned. When we asked about this, the waitress said that we have to ask for them to clean it before they made the food? What? There was a «Jaiba» aka fake/processed imitation crab coleslaw that was slathered all over the real salad. Gross. No one ate it. I would never come here again. My mom, who birthday we were celebrating, said she remembers eating there and the food was much different. They obviously changed staff. I don’t recommend anyone eat here. We still had the foods taste for a few days after. GROSS!

Sincerely… NOT A GOODPLACEFORSEAFOOD I have been probably to more than 50 seafood restaurants in Illinois in the past 2 to 3 years honestly this has Been one of the worst I don’t understand those that have said is the best thing ever maybe there are a lot of people who can eat just about everything and everything tastes good to them. I am definitely not one of those

One of my favorite restaurant in Chicago! Everything I have had here is great and seasoned well! I have done Veneno up north but it was not so yummy to me. A bit dry and bland. Maybe it was a bad night? BYOB = happy me! Go now! Abuelo awaits!

I’ve been there once but my parents order carry outs often. I tried the ceviche de pescado… super yummy. I also had the sopa de camarones. Both menu items were great. The ceviche de pescado is everything I expected, great flavor, love the taste of lemon. The sopa de camarones was also delicious. The shrimp are huge and have an awesome flavor. The place is super clean and the waitress was super friendly. I was torn between which ceviche to try so she offered us a generous sample portion of both ceviches and brought out tostadas and crackers. I’m definitely a fan!

I rarely eat seafood, but if my mom is not the one cooking it, I’ll be getting it from this place! The service is great, their fast an knowledgeable about the menu items. You get a complementary soup with a shrimp in it and is just delicious and a good way to start your meal. Pescado Sarandiado es my favorite dish. This place is BYOB so do bring your Corona beer. Family own and run by a wonderful young couple. Can’t wait for another dinner here!

Another great find in the books! A good friend of mine lives right by here and invited me out to dinner here over the weekend and I must say I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the seafood fare was here! Whenever I want seafood«estilo Nayarit» I normally head right on over to El Veneno but this place gives El Veneno a run for it’s money! We started out with the shrimp ceviche platter, which was delectable. Perfectly seasoned, the shrimp tasted really fresh, and the red onion and cucumber inside the ceviche was perfectly chopped and crunchy. They did skimp a little on the avocado but when we asked for me the waitress did not hesitate to bring us over a plate of extra avocado. I ordered the«Camaron Empanizado» dinner which was excellent! Tons of battered and fried jumbo shrimp, served with this amazing white rice, this cole slaw-type concoction, toasted garlic bread, and a green salad. Good stuff. For it being a Saturday night, it wasn’t really packed at all(unlike El Veneno where it’s like THE place to see and be seen within Chicago’s Mexican population, lolz!) and it is BYOB. The waitresses even brought out red plastic party cups rimmed with lime and salt for our Modelo’s that we brought along for our dinner. God bless ‘em.

This is a little Mexican Seafood Restaurant and the food is WAAAayyyyYYY good! And the prices are great! Only thing is if you are a drinker it’s BYOB. I would recommend the Empenadas de Camarones(shrimp empanadas) or the Ceviche. Also the servers are super nice! Excellent place!
