Free street parking, open late, cheap eats and tasty burgers. Service is good enough. Pretty straight forward mini-dinner in the middle of nowhere. Much needed in this part of town. Will return to try the pasta.

Finally a great from scratch local burger bar in the south side! Service was good, I really dig the complimentary cup of soup when you dine-in. Good menu includes all day breakfast. This place is the epitome of a hidden gem, especially the hidden aspect.

The location of this restaurant had me questioning whether I even wanted to give it a try. But my uncle and cousin kept raving about the burgers and said we wouldn’t regret it… so we gave it a try. I AMSOOOGLADWEDID! Best burger ever! First, all burgers are ½ lbs. of meat. It is cooked to perfection still a little pink on the inside and juicy and flavorful. Next you have a couple of options to choose from: Bacon, Avocado, Jalapeño, Mushroom, Ham, or The Salon(which includes all of the mentioned options). Cheese is an extra ingredient and it comes with like a pound of potatoes. Price… under $ 5. You also get free soup while you wait for your order. The restaurant is small but very clean, and the staff is very friendly. It is a family business, the Chef is also the owner and he clearly has had culinary training, his Sous Chef is his wife and the waiter/cashier are their sons. Don’t be put off by the location, the food is worth it and you won’t regret giving it a try.

This very hidden joint is a tremendous surprise when it comes to quality and value. It’s on 38thPLACE, a block west of Kedzie Ave. The owner/chef seems to have high end restaurant experience based on the preparation of his dishes. What I can’t get over is the amazing value on his burgers! I had the $ 6 Salon Buger that includes about three potatoes worth of fries. It has ham, jalapeño, bacon, onions and a half pound buger! It is fantastic. My son was in the mood for breakfast, so we order a bacon and egg sandwich, which had three potatoes worth of hash browns. The sandwich was a three egg omelet with 4 bacon slice on toasted white bread. The fluffy egg and meaty bacon were fantastic. Along with my wife’s Bacon Burger and along with huge chicken tenders and drinks, we spent about $ 25. You cannot miss this place! It may not be the most welcoming neighborhood, but Salon is a welcomed surprise!

First of I was super iffy about this spot since it’s so hidden. Luckily is a hidden gem. My cousin recommend it but still iffy about it. I live 3 min drive away from this location. I got a great free parking spot right in front. The service was quick and friendly. Free soup while waiting… The burgers are fresh and made to order. I got a burger with bacon for 4.50 $$$ that’s a great price most place charge extra for bacon or overcharge for the bacon burger, anyways. Including fries. Got a order of tenders for myself and fiancé they were good and came with fries. I would def come back to this location not only for being so close to my house but for the great food and service. I most definitely recommend it!

The burgers here are great. The avocado burger just really blew me away. They specialize in burgers and it really shows when you taste the finished product. The owner and staff are very kind and provide excellent service. Stop in if your in the area

This place has really great tasting burgers for a great value. You will get a more fulfilling, inexpensive, and satisfying meal here than a McDonald’s. The burgers taste fresh, the buns are extra soft and they come with a mountain of French fries. A bacon cheeseburger with fries is about $ 5.50, seriously you cannot get a better deal.
