This place is great if u want to take your designer clothes, shoes, bags, and FURS there instead of throwing them in the garbage.

I have all these beautiful clothes, etc barely worn and would like to get a smidge of validation for the care I took of them.
Their has to be a better way…
Just keep the stuff u have and maybe it will come back instyle.
Or better yet, donate or give it away to someone who will appreciate it.

I consigned a Celine mini luggage tote back at the end of April, with hopes of getting some extra cash quickly for an upcoming trip. When I dropped it off, the women working there explained that it wouldn’t be quite so quick of a turn around, but since I never used the bag anymore, I decided to just sell it anyway. That style in particular is still pretty popular, and my bag was in decent shape, so I thought it would sell. When I dropped it off, I signed a contract and was told that I wouldn’t receive payment until up to 8 weeks after the bag had sold. I thought that was a little weird, but whatever.
Fast forward to June 10, I receive an email saying that the bag sold and that they would email me to let me know as soon as a check was there for me to pick up. After waiting patiently for a few weeks, I checked their FAQ and saw that users were guaranteed a «simple 45 day pickup time» for their check, so I sent an email to their general address. The next day, I got an email back claiming that now it would be an 8 – 10 week wait. 10 weeks is 70 days. I responded, letting them know of their original 45-​day guideline on the website, and then the person who got back with me re-​iterated the 8 – 10 week wait time, but then helpfully let me know that she just looked, and that there was actually a check at the front desk for me! Awesome.
SO today, I stop by to grab the check. It is dated July 7^th. What the fuck.
These people are shady as hell. Don’t waste your time.

SCAM… Months after things sell there are «internal issues». Two months after dropping off a fur — they’re still «researching the type of fur» and it hasn’t listed. «Ebay issues» & more «internal» issues kept them from telling me that they listed and sold my items. Michelle the «Operations Manger» «completely understood» each new inconsistency as I noted each of them.

This review is strictly pertaining to the customer service I experienced here. Rude, patronizing and unwelcoming. To top it off, overheard an employee bad mouth a customer that was on hold. Uh. hello? There’s clients in front of you that can clearly hear you. Unprofessional & extremely rude for a place that portrays itself to be a class act.

I am both one of their buyers and a seller (but not through e-​dropoff)
As a buyer I’ve had mixed results — they do have nice items, and they are
a known entity so you can trust them to ship you the item and it’ll be more or less what was described (not always the case with other sellers).
But now that I read about people recognizing fakes, I wonder whether everything I bought was authentic.
However, that is not the reason I no longer buy from them (unless an exceptional item appears): the item often has flaws that are greater than the text claims (almost always described as ‘minor’, even when it’s not so).
There are never any photos showing the flaw, so you can’t determine for yourself. And no returns. (As a seller myself, I *highlight* the flaws to protect the buyer and guard against disputes — everything is above board). I agree with reviewers complaining about perfume.
Also, from a buyer’s perspective the initial price is often too high, even for a so-​so item. The bidding goes much higher than for similar items on other sites — whether it is through shill bidding, or just more clients coming to and trusting edropoff I wouldn’t know.
So for sellers who have complained on this forum about receiving so little for their high-​end items, while it may seem to be the case, the fact is that very few will pay anything close to the initial price once the item is used — unless it has special cachet or value (such as Chanel or Hermes); even less is left after edropoff takes their cut.
As a seller myself, I have at times wondered if I shouldn’t just send an item to edropoff since they seem to be able to get higher bids for the same thing than I could on my own (ebay/​paypal take 15%). But when you calculate how much they will retain from the sale price, it’s hard to say that it’s worth it, unless it’s something that will bring a very high bid. I am disturbed to read the reviews from people who have brought in/​shipped their clothes to edropoff. Clearly the service is superior for the buyer, if that’s any consolation (the one time I called for clarification on an item, the person was very helpful — I only wish it could have been done by email); they do have incentive to sell, anf if shill bidding accusations are true, then they really work at it ;), though their terms means that they collect a minimum for each item regardless of its selling price.

Love this place. I am a customer of several years and I can see why newbies might not «get» the whole process. But the people here know what they’re doing and can clear out your old stuff to make room for the new. And you walk away with cash. Not a bad deal.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I would highly NOT recommend this place to anyone. They will scam you and not pay you for 90 days. Seriously worst experience of my life.

I had a very poor customer service experience. They listed my garment information incorrectly on eBay & I lost all my money. Complaints to management were in my opinion, met with defensiveness and they did not solve the problem. Would definitely not recommend listing my items or buying from them. Note to edropoff: When you are the one who makes mistake, you should make it right!

The response was their version of the truth. Just read all the recent reviews and you will understand how they operate. I will be contacting the BBB.

They’ve just gone downhill the last few years. I had success selling a few items here around three years ago: good communication from the employees, great rates for my items, and received a check within six weeks (which still felt like a long time, but nothing compared to now). My last two experiences (both in the last year) are bad enough to keep me from selling with them ever again. I dropped off three items about 12 weeks ago. They sold within a week (for much lower than I anticipated) and I still haven’t received a check.
I called three weeks ago and was told it would be cut «soon.»
Called back this week and was told one check was cut already and they would definitely have the second and third check cut «right away» and that I would be called Friday to pick it up. It sounded like someone had just forgotten to work on my case altogether.
It’s Saturday. Still no call. Where the heck is my money?
I’ll be selling my own items on eBay from now on.
Looks like a TV show hasn’t done much for business practices…

This is a review as a customer rather than a consigner.
I’ve bought a few items from Edropoff on Ebay. I buy and sell high end items for my styling/​personal shopping company, so it’s key for me to know the real deal or not. For one, Edropoff quality is explicit in their listings, and I’ve never had any problems with the items they’ve sent me. They’ve all been in exquisite condition. Customer service and replies to message have always been pleasant.

As a long-​time eBay customer (I like weird stuff and a deal) I’ve bought clothing from them in the past. I have to say often the stuff is not in as good of shape as the site would lead you to believe. The last two things I purchased at a couple hundred dollars per piece arrived reeking of perfume. And one item billed as New With Tags had a tag that had been reattached and was definitely NOT new.
With that being said I decided to try my hand at consigning some of my used designer items. I’ve sold items myself on eBay but I just don’t take great photos, don’t have a mannequin to display them, and I figured a professional company could do a better job. BIG MISTAKE!
Since they’ve gotten mixed reviews I tested them out by sending them things I was really unattached to — not things that I know are worth a lot or are rare, etc. The communication was pretty poor, but the UPS pickup was really convenient. The process is: you tell them what you have, they say if they want it, then you box it up and they arrange UPS to pick it up free of charge. That was the simplest part. Then they look through it, decide it it’s good enough condition for them to actually sell, and you agree to consign with them — but if you change your mind you have to pay to have the things returned. Or they will donate free of charge. Fair enough.
TWO MONTHS after I sent them a box of goods they listed the things. In between that time I didn’t hear anything from them and was actually wondering what happened. When I finally contacted them they said their turnaround after receiving things was 45 days. Fine, but tell people that UP. FRONT. Once the items were listed I did receive emails telling me they were for sale. Unfortunately, one of my items was not ever listed and they can’t find it. Right…
Then they listed all my things on SATURDAY NIGHT which if you know anything about eBay, auctions ending on Friday and Saturday nights fetch the least amount, obviously. It seems counterintuitive that a company that stands to make money based on the amount an item sells for would skip posting things on those days, but they don’t. I guess that is the risk a consigner takes as well.
Some of my things didn’t sell initially so they relisted them at a lower price. In the end most of my stuff sold for peanuts of which I’ll only get 50%. And 2 and a half months later I STILL have not gotten a check! I really wish I would have just sold the things myself. I will never use this company again. Seriously — never. With the lack of communication, poor professionalism, and odd practices my experience has been terrible.
I guess it might be worth it to use if you have extremely high-​priced items like a Louis Vuitton bag because they do have a large audience of bidders and good feedback (which is one of the reasons I decided to sell with them in the first place), but you still only get half of the profit and you’ll be waiting until you die to get the money from them.

So… I’m glad to see other customers were allowed to pet the two adorable dogs in the office. I’ve overlooked the robotic customer service, the lack of response to e-​mails, or the lack of personalization. I’m sure you guys are busy — but, hey, so is everyone else.
After I stepped in to pick up an item last time, I had a decent experience and decided this was my new favorite way to shop consignment without having to trek anywhere to sift through clothing.
Alas — I stopped in today to pick up my new purchase. What I found was an adorable dog sitting on the couch. I asked if I could pet it — and, after the lady at the counter approved, I did. Another dog ran out, and I pet them both. Sorry — I’m a dog lover!
Suddenly, like she was a furious bat with a bout of diarrhea to attend to, the owner (?) /​manager (?) ran out of her office, looked at me and just said, «Excuse me?» and corralled her dogs into her office. No hi. No bye. She proceeded to slam the door as if she was now examining them for fleas and calling my mother to alert her to my transgression.
The woman who was standing next to me, dropping thousands of dollars of her clothes off, was far nicer than anyone who works at this place. Noticing that, I realized I should sell my designer clothing myself. I’m sure all eDrop-​Off could care less about losing a few thousand dollars in business, but that money matters to me. And probably to you, too — if you plan on patronizing the business.
What the hell is wrong with you, «bat diarrhea dog woman»? I left so f*cking offended, I’m never returning or recommending this place to anyone. In fact, I’m going to make an effort to UNrecommend it to everyone I’ve already mentioned it to. Shove your attitudes, please. I know this is Lincoln Park, but some customers don’t like being treated like the shit beneath your consignment-​bought (or «repossessed»?) designer shoes.
Seriously. PISSED.

I’ve worked with eDrop-​off numerous times and their staff is so incredibly friendly. They’re all hard working, easy going girls and always make sure I’m finding everything ok.
Plus they always have some AMAZING exclusive pieces from Chanel and Oscar de la Renta. Everything I’ve seen has been in great condition and authentic.
I’m super excited to get my next pieces from Corri and her team!

I was hesitant to drop off clothing based on the reviews… I am SO HAPPY I followed my gut instead.
The girls (at counter and on the phone) went above and beyond to help me even in the times I probably would have hung up on myself with my incessant questions/​concerns…
My clothing and accessories just sat in my closet and collected dust. Who would have thought some would make so much on auctions?
Could I have done it myself? Sure if I wasn’t too lazy to try to figure out how to list… Besides I much prefer to be an Ebay shopper…
Oh yea, and the last time I walked in I was greeted by 2 of the cutest puppies… THAT alone is a HUGE plus in this crazy animal ladies book!

If you are in the mood to reward yourself, look no further than eDrop-​Off. I’ve purchased a handful of items from eDrop-​Off for a great price and no shipping (local pick up) Some of my finds include: Valentino Pumps — $ 60, Jimmy Choo Pumps — $ 28, Fendi Crossbody $ 70… and that’s what I can remember off the top of my head.
Since all of their recent press, the prices have been driven up a bit by the bidders, but nonetheless, it is a great ebay shop to find authentic luxury goods. You can buy with the confidence of knowing that your LV is legit.
The brick & mortar location in Lincoln Park is absolutely beautiful. Their blog has great posts, and the stylist has a great eye that will inspire any fashioinista!
I’ve also sold a fair amount of items through eDrop-​Off and have been very impressed with their organization and customer service. I am happy that we have such fashion savviness in my sweet home of Chciago.

Shady eBayer. I had bid on a sweater and I suppose the bids came in too low or something, but all of a sudden all of the bids were cancelled and the auction was taken down, probably to avoid the 12-​hour no-​cancellation rule.
Total bullshit and a waste of time. If you want to sell something for no less than $ 100, list it as such or do a reserve. Cheesy pranks like this are why I eBay less frequently.

If I could give less than me star, I would.

Beware.
First, they listed an item as free shipping.
When I won it, they sow, how couldn’t see it on their screen and insisted I send photos to prove that I wasn’t making it up. How could they not know this? Or see it? Or make that error in the first place? What kind of place is this?
Then, when I tried to pay for the items, it was somehow blocked by them. Again and again, I contacted them and asked for assistance. They kept blaming anyone but themselves and made no effort to fox the problem, according to eBay and on record.
They just don’t care

COUNTERFEIT, COUNTERFEIT, COUNTERFEIT!
So, I purchased a «Nanette Lepore» dress on Ebay from this sham of a business. I was so excited to get this dress for $ 40, what a bargain. Right? Wrong! When this dress arrived in the mail, it was an obvious fake. I’m great at maing snap judgements and this was not the real deal. So, I caled them right away and after talking to the gatekeeper «aka Skipper for all intents and purposes», I am eventually transfered to Alex, the manager. Who refusese to have UPS come pick this garbage up to be sent back to them. She told me when they recieve it, she will have the Authenticator take a look it. Whatever, as if someone there holds this magnificent title. I shlep on over to the post office to send it back.
To make a long story short, I compared it to actual Nanette Lepore garments and this was some cheap Forever 21 garment with a Nanette Lepore tag hand sewn inside. «Alex», the manager still claims that the dress in genuine. I had to put a fight with Alex’s little sister, Skipper, who I’m surprised is allowed to correspond with clients. Instead of humbly admiting fault, they reluctantly reimbursed me through paypal. Their mantra is «The item is as described». Very robotic and totally missing the point.
These little girls have no integrity and definiteely do not have the experience and expertise of discerning fine garments and accessories.
