Maggie is one of the best there is. I followed her from Black Hearts and she has been my personal hair stylist since 2009. I often joke that if I win the lotto she will just get paid daily to fix my hair. She’s that good. Also she’s one of the sweetest people I know.

Mark Linenberg is amazing! I wouldn’t trust any one but him to cut 10+ inches and color my hair!

Tiffany Hoffman Schaaff is an amazing stylist!!! She’s been doing my hair since 2010 and I wouldn’t trust my hair to anyone else. She is really talented at knowing what type of cut and color are most flattering on a person. This is great because I like to change things up from time to time, and she always able to execute different styles and shades that work nicely for me. Tiffany has a lovely personality and is so fun to talk to (cause y’all know that a hairstylist who can’t carry on a conversation is no bueno). I also hired her in 2011 for my wedding and I was really impressed with how my and my bridesmaids’ hair turned out. I was super bummed when she moved to San Diego last year BUT she flies into Chicago once a quarter just to keep her clients looking good! And that makes this lady pretty darn happy. :)

I love this salon, really professional and clean. Also I love getting Brazilian blow out at this place with Andre, it’s amazing how smooth and shinny my hair gets. I definitely recommend it. Try it you gonna love it :))

My Girl Maggie left Black Hearts and Moved to Eclipes Salon… and I moved with her. If found Maggie first and then Moved to Chicago! Great Color, Great Style just GREAT!!!

I followed my stylist, Maggie Araque, from Black Hearts to Eclipse Salon. I can’t say enough good things about Maggie. I have naturally curly hair and it’s difficult to find someone that actually knows how to cut it. Maggie is incredible. I just let her follow her muse and my hair looks better than ever. I can let it air dry or dry with a diffuser; either way, my hair looks fabulous.
I actually have people stop me on the street to compliment my hair. I can’t recommend Maggie enough.

I just started going to Eclipse Salon because I followed my stylist, Maggie Araque, there. After my first visit, I was pleased with the salon. More importantly, Maggie is the best stylist a woman can find. I’ve been going to her for over three years now which is why there was no question that I was going to follow her to Eclipse.
I have naturally curly hair that she cuts in a way that looks great curly or straightened. The layers she puts in my hair alwasy grow out nicely which helps if I go a bit too long without a fresh cut. She has a way with a blow dryer and a round brush because I walk out of the salon looking like a movie star.
I would highly recommend Maggie to anyone looking for a new stylist.

After salon hopping for a while now, in search of a new stylist who understands my finicky hair, I found Tiffany Hoffman Schaaff. My friend recommended her and said that Tiffany is amazing and she is right. Tiffany is a magician when it comes to cutting my hair in a way that still looks good long after I have walked out of the salon. It also grows out well, which allows me to prolong my haircuts for a lot longer ;). She also has great color skills. I have gotten so many compliments on my Ombré! I can not rave enough about her.
I am happy to announce that my hair dresser search is at long last over!

I moved to Boston and I miss my cuts by Tiffany. She can give a trim that will stay shaped and looking good for over 8 weeks — which is awesome in my book. She is friendly, and always quick to respond when scheduling. She often does specials through her email list. AND she isn’t over the top arm and a log pricey. If you can find that in a stylist, I suggest you keep her. But I moved, and now I can’t find anyone to replace her. Sigh. Here’s her website:

I just wanted to update that Tiffany did my hair, as well as our moms and all of my bridesmaids, for our wedding. She came downtown to my hotel suite– was there bright and early at 6:30am– and brought her sister to help out if needed. She worked non-​stop for 5 or 6 hours to make sure that we all had our hair done in time. Every one of us looked spectacular the entire day. I wanted my hair to stay in place all night (I hate it when bride’s hair is messed up halfway through the wedding) and it didn’t budge. It took ½ an hour to get all the bobby pins out later– but it stayed in place!
I adore Tiffany. She is so professional but also super friendly and fun. She is also incredibly talented. I’d highly recommend her as a hairstylist for any wedding!

As if I would give the dashing Denny anything short of 5 stars.
When he left Goran Coban, I felt truly lost in a turbulent sea of stylists. There were rumours that he had decided to stay at home and abandon his Chicago cult following. Denny, WHY? My dark locks felt deep, deep loss. Who can I trust? Who will cut my hair in a way that flatters my round face? Lost and confused, I tried others. It was just not the same.
One fateful day, I decided that SEVEN years of long layered hair was enough. I needed a change. I’m nearing my mid-​20s now, and I don’t need long hair to feel beautiful. But who could do the job?
A thousand thank-​yous to the kind Unilocaler who posted Denny’s cell phone number. I called him, he remembered me, and the next day at 6pm I was scheduled for the Great Chopping of Jasmine’s Tresses. He snipped away my long tired hair, and gave me a chic long bob.
If you’re a woman, you understand the power of good hair. The compliments came flooding in, from friends and strangers alike. I no longer feel like I am hiding behind a curtain of heavy lengthy hair.
I just can’t express this enough: Denny is an artist, and once you go, you will find no reason to stray.

I moved to Chicago 2 years ago, prior to that I had my stylist in Connecticut for over 20 years. I had a high level of anxiety in finding a new stylist.
I was lucky enough to be referred to Denny Dimkovski, formally of Goran Corban Salon, now of Eclipse salon. From my first visit, where I expressed my anxiety of a new stylist, Denny, took it all in stride. He is not only warm and friendly and makes his customers feel completely comfortable but an expertise of stylist. I knew from my first cut, that my search was over for a new stylist. I have now been a committed customer for over two years. When Denny left Goran Corban Salon, with out hesitation, I knew I was going where ever he was.
Every time I have a cut or a color, I feel and look fabulous. Denny is never rushed, he is precise in his work of hair design. He always takes the time to make sure, every detail involved making your hair looking beautiful is done to perfection.
His personality is warm, friendly and accommodating. When my daughter visited from Connecticut, I wanted to treat her to a cut and color, Denny found the time to fit her into his busy schedule. She still raves about him today and says to me, «Mom, when I go back Chicago, I want Denny to do my hair again» You will find, not only once you become his client, you become his friend as well, and doing these little things like this to make his clients happy just speaks to the caliber of not only what a great stylist he is but a great person as well.
Maybe I will be lucky enough to have Denny as my next stylist of 20 years… what I do know, wherever he goes, my hair and I will follow. :)

Okay, so I just bought a GPS app, and was updating addresses for the business’ I use, but since I am here, I have to leave a review for EKELO.
Ekelo has been my stylist for almost 7 years and I hope for the rest of my life. No joke. He is simply the best. He is very creative, talented and on the «cutting edge,» but will never let me insist on anything that will make me look stupid. He travels the world styling hair for models and celebrities alike, but you would never know it because he is so humble. He keeps his prices modest so that he is accessible to all, and almost all of my friends now go to him for their cuts.
As an Interior Decorator I have people who look to me to be creative, and I do believe that my outer appearance helps convey my inner talent. Ekelo is a huge part of that, and I am forever grateful for him.

I was desperately looking for Tiffany, who used to work at Black Hearts and I think Milo’s — and thankfully I found her here!
She is a genius with scissors! I have the longest, thickest hair most people have ever seen (I’m half Jewish and half Irish– ouch), and she trims it down and gives it such amazing style. Nobody has ever been able to cut my hair like she does! If you’ve got crazy, unruly, thick, long or curly hair (or all of the above), you definitely need to go see her! She’s spoiled me rotten, and there’s no way I could ever let anyone else touch my hair now.

Ellen is no longer there!

I have been going to Ellen Dunn for a while now based on a recommendation from a friend after my previous stylist’s back went out. What a stylist! Ellen takes care of most of my family now and gives us great ideas, rocking cuts, and manages to compensate for the screwy things my medical prescriptions do to my hair. She is energetic, friendly, fun, and (of course) gorgeous and always has great hair — an inspiration that she knows what she’s talking about in making you Look Good.
I don’t know anything about the other stylists or the rest of the studio; I just follow Ellen wherever she goes.

Ekelo has been my stylist for years and years, but the reason I keep coming back to him is that he never just gives me the cut he gave me the last time I was in (unless I ask for it). He’s always on the forward edge of what’s going on in styles for the season – I often have the latest cut a couple of months before I start seeing it everywhere. He never pushes product or services, so I trust that on the rare occasions that he does suggest something, it’s really a must-​have. He is very engaging and attentive and takes his time with my cut and styling – I never feel like I have less than 100% of his attention. If this man stopped cutting hair, I just might stop getting haircuts.

I loooooove me some Ekelo.
Not only do we share the common hometown high school bond, but he seems to know what I need from my hair before I do. He’s given me several of the best cuts of my life and is very quick with the product suggestions to breathe life into my fine, skinny hair.

Let me begin by saying that I’m a reluctant salon-​goer. I’m always broke, I never manage to keep to any 6 week kind of hair ‘do schedule, and I never seem to be able to explain what I want well enough and always end up with something that is well, sigh, just fine. Suffice it to say I am not the ideal client. I’m like the wet noodle of the hair salon client world or something. But Ekelo has managed to make me feel like a very nice noodle. Spicy even. I followed him from Milio’s because I am a creature of hair-​habit, and since I’ve moved to Boston I still come to see him when I visit Chicago.
This why he has been my favorite on the rare and varied occassions when my hair and pocketbook are big enough to be thinned out–
1. He cuts it quick and good– I have wavy, giant, mushroom prone hair and he makes it look full without being helmet-​y and I don’t have to spend half the day in the chair.
2. He never berates me for my erratic schedule (once I think I went a full year before seeing him).
3. He always welcomes me like he saw me just yesterday and he LISTENS to what I want but also makes veryveryvery good suggestions.
4. Once I left with something more moderate than I wanted and when I came back to change it, he showed 0 irritation and fixed it for free.
5.He’s into his work– he cares about hair, he’s creative, he takes lots of workshops & it shows.
I also hear he’s tremendous with color.
He’s a winner to be sure.
