The most racist bar I have ever been to. Was told by a customer to «get out because you are black.» Told staff and nothing was done about it. NEVER go there. Was also told by a customer, «this is for honkies only.» The customers stared like they never saw two black women before. Disgusting and offensive so called business.

I’m really surprised at some of the reviews here because I had a great time. First of all, the prices are incredible. We ordered two craft drinks(Three Floyds Pride & Joy and Sam Adams Winter, I believe) and it was $ 6. TOTAL! Anywhere else, a craft beer will run you that amount for just one. That’s an immediate win for me. Anytime you can get craft beer that cheap, it’s like you’ve hit a home run. So this is very much a sports bar. Sports stuff everywhere, TVs showing some basketball games, and a dart board and one of those golf arcade games. My friends and I played some darts for a while and it was a lot of fun. There’s a back room where it looked like some people were having a party. Overall, I think it’s a good atmosphere. There was a mix of regulars and some younger folk bar hopping(like us). They also have a silly cigarrette machine by the dart board that looks like it’s from the 90s. Does anyone still use those? Regardless, I loved this bar and I’ll definitely be back.

This is not the same bar from«The Accused» but it is close. I spent a Sunday evening drinking at my favorite Western Avenue bar(Cork and Kerry) when I decided to venture down the street for one last drink. I walked into Dinger’s and encountered the Sausage Fest of all Sausage Fests. Seriously, the only woman in the place was the bartender. If I were a woman I would have walked out immediately. Anyway, a guy who was identified as the owner seemed to be heavily intoxicated. There was also some loud drunken fire lieutenant who kept spontaneously yelling at a friend(at least I presume they were friends). It was creepy. Anyway, not to be intimidated, I ordered a drink. I then ordered another. I really didn’t have any problems. Nobody started a fight. Dinger’s is actually huge. There are a lot of tables and the flat screen behind the bar must be 96 inches big. Will I be back? Probably not. There are nicer places on Western to go. I think«Bar Rescue» should be called. This place can be saved.

I was not impressed with this place at all. It has one of those towny-bar feels, kinds dark and creepy. The bar tender was very nice and the drinks were cheap, but those were the only good things. There was a guy there that I’m pretty sure had been drinking since 2PM… they probably should have stopped serving him. I don’t think I would go back here.

Im being very generous with 2 stars. I know it;s the southside and I know it’s Beverly. The only reason theyre getting the extra star is because they know better than to f*ck people the way that Cork & Kerry does with prices. Very cheap to drink here, you can come with $ 30 and leave a drunk mess, which is great. However, anyone that runs a successful bar needs to realize that their staff has to be on point. Ive been here a few times and theres either two girls behind the bar or a guy. The guy is awesome. He’s fast, attentive, and will often refill you without even asking. The women on the other hand are absolutely brain dead. How can you have a bar with almost all tables taken, and half the bar stools filled, and go out to smoke while leaving the bar unattended with people waiting to place drink orders?

I got a kick out of some of the other reviews on here… I really like this place. It’s one of the best places to watch a sports game in the area.

Clean, sterile, inoffensive. Words that are acceptable when describing a public restroom, but not a bar.* Dinger’s has been one of the stops on several of the recent Young Irish Fellowship South Side Pub Crawls. It’s probably okay if you’re looking for a quick one(which is basically what it’s been for us on recent crawls), but I couldn’t see myself spending an afternoon here. It has the look and feel of a strip mall bar, the kind of place you’d pop into while your wife gets her nails done next door and your kids hit the arcade. They really could use a revolving door(or some separate entryway) for the colder months. The entire bar gets a chill whenever someone walks in or out. *It’s worth noting that the restrooms here are actually quite clean, sterile, and and inoffensive.

The bartender was so slow and rude. he paid more attention to the TV screen than his beer guggling clients. This is an average bar on the South Side of Chicago where there are many better bars arund to walk to. None of them are that impressive, but the service at this place makes this place perhaps the worse.
