History

Established in 2008.

In 2008, Design Dance was founded by Debra Giunta to create a completely innovative performing arts program for children. While Design Dance dedicates itself to quality dance training in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-​hop, modern and ballroom, we are also pioneers in all-​inclusive arts training in dance education. This includes improvisation, acting and musical theater classes taught by field professionals. Each of our classes encourages not only the mastery of artistic technique, but also focuses heavily on story development and the creation of personal and compelling expression.

Design Dance is a unique dance education company. Operating since 2008, our program serves over 450 students in Chicago and New York through schools, parks, and studios! Classes are designed to offer each student an enriching and high quality dance education experience, while inspiring creativity, confidence, and community.

The staff and teachers at Design Dance strive to create a completely innovative performing arts program for children. While Design Dance dedicates itself to quality dance training in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-​hop, modern and ballroom, our program also teaches students to think creatively, understand the cultural and intellectual relevance of the movement arts and, as they mature, apply their individual voice to create their own dance works.
