I have been one of those that didn’t go to the dentist for YEARS because I was terrified! Also, at that point a bit embarrassed because I had let my teeth go. Well, last fall I finally had an issue that turned into an infection that turned into an emergency. I lived in the Western Suburbs at the time, so I set up an emergency appointment the next day with some dentist in LaGrange. He gave me a prescription to get rid of the infection, but told me he couldn’t work on my issue and that I would need to go to an oral surgeon. I was also told it would be costly.
I found Dr. O’Neill through a family member that had been using him for years. I set up an appointment and it was the best experience I have ever had with a dentist. He was able to save the tooth with a root canal and crown, and also did some other much needed work. (Had a few teeth pulled too) He has a great touch and can do almost everything. The pain of the infection was far worse than taking care of my issues with Dr. O’Neill. He is very understanding and will communicate with you in great depth about what needs to be done and what can wait. His office staff is great too! I now reside an hour away in another state, and have just set up another appointment with him. He will always have my loyalty.

His prices and service are hard to beat! Incredibly affordable– especially if you have little or no dental coverage. As another review says, it is a no frills place and looks like it was decorated in 1995. But what he doesn’t spend on décor he makes up for in price. My entire bill for: xrays, cleaning, and a filing was $ 129! The doc is on the talkative side but very nice; highly recommend.

SCARY!!! Place is old and spooky dentist didn’t have the nicest breath, can I say more.

In the 27 years I have been on this earth, I have never seen another dentist, and I have no plans to. Reasonable, professional, straight forward, kind, and personable. My husband now sees him too. Frills are for suckers.

Dr. Dan has been my dentist since I was a child. The previous posts are 100% correct. He’s very affordable, yet his work is exceptional. I lived out of state for a couple of years and every time I made it back to Chicago for a visit I made sure I scheduled a cleaning with him. He’s the only dentist I’ve ever been to and I’m not sure what I’ll do when he retires!!!

Very cheap prices… just $ 80 for a tooth extraction (yes, he pulls teeth unlike many dentists who refer you elsewhere) and one xray is $ 15. His office looks like something from the past, but it was clean and Dr O’neill is friendly with great manners.

Dr O’neill is a no-​frills dentist in Lincoln Square with a price point to match. Even without insurance, I walked out of my exam/​cleaning and single x-​ray for $ 55! The Doctor and staff are friendly and professional, the office is dated but clean and so are my teeth. I was quoted a very reasonable rate for a porcelain crown as well. For those on a budget, I highly recommend. If you like it posh, go somewhere else.
