Had a great time here last Thursday! Everyone was friendly, the magic was entertaining, and the drinks were good. I can’t wait to come back!

5 stars for the close-​up magic gallery — still trying to figure out how he did his last trick which was absolutely mind-​blowing.
$ 30 for the Deluxe ticket on a Saturday night which guarantees admission to the close-​up magic gallery (SO worth it!) When you first walk in and take your seat, bar magicians will come up to you and do cool magic tricks before the main acts. The headlining and featured acts are really cool and only about 30 min long — they have different magicians every show! My only complaint is that a lot of it seemed like stand-​up comedy. I personally prefer magicians to perform straight-​up magic, keeping the comedy for comedy shows.
Overall, it’s so much fun and a really unique thing to do in Chicago!

Got a groupon, went there with friends; well worth it. It was funny and nice. Am not a fan of swear words, though it was there, it was light.
Table magic, Stage show and Bar magic. Make sure u go there when the doors open so that you don’t miss out the table Magic.

Had a really great time with a group of 6 a few weeks ago on a Friday night! Such a unique thing to do in Chicago, the magicians are talented, professional and very funny. Very relaxing atmosphere and the up close tableside magic is a lot of fun.
They stay open afterwards until midnight so you can hang around with the magicians after the show and keep the drinks flowing.
If you’re thinking about bringing kids, high school and over is probably most appropriate. There will be some bad language and even worse sexual innuendo that will probably go over their heads.

This is probably the best date spot in Chicago right now. Gentlemen, if you are looking for an great first date, with no risk of it getting uncomfortable or weird, look no further.
It is hilarious and super relaxed. Very professional magicians perform right under your nose, behind the bar and on stage. I will definitely go back… and bring a woman.
You wont regret this visit.

Was a really cool atmosphere. Kinda like a speakeasy. It was cool you sit down before the show, get a (really good drink) and some magicians come up to you and your group to perform up close magic. Then the show has two stage performances (our headliner Jamie Sanden was amazing!!!) and in between the two acts there’s a bar magic performance or you can stay seated and more magicians come up to you. THEN after you can chill for a couple hours while even more magicians are around doing more small tricks.
I highly suggest this. I got s great groupon but would have been worth it even without the groupon. Definitely planning on going back because they have over 30 magicians that rotate in to so acts.

This place is so cool and was such a great change of pace from the typical nightlife scene.
We purchased the premium seats in advance and had front row seats to two really cool 25 – 30 min magic shows, table side tricks and an intimate close up magic show in the back. The price is totally worth what you get out of it and i would highly recommend this as a fun date night.

What a great place, though parking near Lawrence and Broadway is a challenge. We arrived early, had a couple of magicians perform at our 2 person table, then watched an enjoyable stage show. The real magic was the Close Up Gallery with unbelievable things happening just a few feet away. One reviewer felt the drinks were too expensive, but $ 10 for a glass of wine, no minimum and magic at your table is more than reasonable. And the $ 4 snack mix and free water bar (water fountain with cups) were an added plus. Highly recommend getting the Deluxe or Premier tickets so you have guaranteed seating in the first two rows of the Close Up Gallery on Saturdays.

Great Chicago find. Nice job of preserving the original theater architecture while inventing a new space. Dave Cox is clever, engaging and inclusive. Make sure to stay and see the after show. Luis Carreon performed the night I was there, he’s got a sweet style that mesmerizes while he performs seemingly impossible feats. All of the comedians are respectful to each other and the audience. It’s a playful evening. Agreed — great date place. Go if you’re a local to find a new treasure in our city. Go if you’re visiting Chicago and want to experience a real Chicago neighborhood and a non-​commercial performance. Remember it’s a real Chicago neighborhood and you’ll need your real Chicago street smarts.

My mind was blown repeatedly throughout this event. From the magicians who come to your table to demonstrate their skills, to the headliners who involve the audience in their show, I found myself asking over and over again «how did they do that???» It was one of the best nights I’ve ever enjoyed in the city and I’d highly recommend going! It’s good for groups of friends, couples, and going alone and just meeting people doing the mini shows at the cocktail tables.

The venue itself was awesome! I loved the décor, it was different, beautiful, and made me feel very welcoming as did everyone who worked there. The atmosphere was wonderful and of course the magicians were AMAZING!!! They were performing up close and personal with magic I had not seen before! They were all great performers and they were very funny as well. I was in awe almost the entire time! My boyfriend and I definitely agreed that we will come back and we recommend this to everyone! One of Chicago’s hidden treasures!

Thursday night shows are the perfect OK Cupid date, but also amazing with friends! They’re incredibly entertaining so if the date sucks, you still have fun, but if they don’t suck you have plenty of time to chat and get to know each other in between acts while they do table magic. All the magicians are stellar and the intimate, but not too intimate setting is perfect. I plan to come back again and again. Bar prices are a bit high, but not terrible. $ 7 beers (in the bottle), $ 10 glasses of wine and $ 13 cocktails.

Super super super fun!!! I loved the finesse displayed by all the magicians — they combined comedy with magic effortlessly! I remained stunned during most of the show to even clap! A must see in Chicago!

As explained by the emcee, Chicago has a rich history of magic, and its own style. All of that style and history is present in this new venue. Though it is only open on Thursday nights (currently), they have a new headliner every month and consistently cycle in new acts prior to the headliner.
Every time I have been there I have had a great time and definitely recommend others check it out.

Loved everything about our night! The vibe in the theater was awesome — it felt designed just for this type of event. We got seated at a table and there were many magicians roaming from table to table doing close up magic (my favorite). Stage show started with 2 brief acts (10 minutes a piece or so). Then a break with some magic being performed by the ‘bartender’.
There were a lot of people from the Chicago magic crowd in attendance. Before the headline (Jamie Sanden — incredible), a guy on the current season of America’s Got Talent did some hypnotism.
After Jamie’s awesome set, we stuck around for the Magic Lab. They called it the magic equivalent of an open mic night. However, these weren’t just any old amateur on stage for it. Everyone had a well thought out performance, and most/​all of them were actually professionals. Worth sticking around for!

5 stars is not enough for this place. 200% RECOMMENDED! It’s UNBELIEVABLE, you get to see closeup Magic at your table then you get to see an entire show with different Magicians! LUIS CARREON is my favorite. I come to this place every other Thursday and honestly I can’t get enough! Great place, great people, the BEST magicians!!! I highly recommend Luis Carreon’s appearances, They are breathtaking!!!

I came here for my birthday with a few friends and had a fantastic time! The performers were great and the table-​side magic was simply amazing. Mind = blown. Thank you, Chicago Magic Lounge, for making my birthday awesome!

I brought my girlfriend to try something new and we both had our minds blown at this magic lounge. So much fun I highly recommend this show every Thursday evening. Experience magic right before your eyes. I promise it will blow your mind.

One of the newest venue where you can watch a live magic show! Every thursday at 8pm from close up to stage magic they got it all! Its a must show to watch!

I went to the grand opening last night and I loved this! If you’re looking for something to do on a Thursday night, be it going out with friends or going on a date, this is what you should do! I can’t wait to see this again! They also have a bar so you can have drinks and enjoy some up close magic!
