The Cartier sales reps were very nice and helpful. They provided us with champagne while we shopped. The sales rep sized my finger and provided me with the piece of jewelry I wanted. Very nice store.

Izza O. helped me find the ideal gift for my wife; who loved the present. She had the item mailed overnight and I was able to put it up in 48 hours later. Stellar service!

This is a very high in jewelry store. Their signature bracelets are gorgeous. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

While visiting Chicago, I decided to treat myself to a Birthday present. After being disappointed with a previous purchase of a key chain from a different Cartier location, I was delighted to visit the Chicago boutique. It was my last day in town and I arrived at the doors of Cartier at 6:01 p.m.-technically closing time. I pulled on the door and it was locked! I looked at the guard and said, «PLEEEEEEAAAAAAAASE let me in. I am from out of town and leaving in the morning. I have a return and the Cartier located in Seattle has closed.» He looked at me and stated, «One Moment» (in a deep voice-​LOL!). He came back and opened the door! YES! After getting beyond those beautiful locked doors, I met two amazing people. Danijela Dedic the Boutique Director and Erin Peterson a Sales Associate.
I felt welcomed and taken care of. They allowed me to take my time and look around and when I did not find anything that tickled my fancy, I was able to return the defective key chain for another one. They took such great care of me. Once I slipped ;-) and told them it was my Birthday, they surprised me with Champaign! What Class! I almost cried! LOL!
The most important part of this experience for me was that even though I did not purchase anything, they treated me so well. They genuinely cared about the customer and Cartier as a Brand. I will definitely return to this location for all of my Cartier needs.

Poor customer service. My wife and I frequently purchase high end merchandise including her tank watch from Cartier. We recently stopped in to have the battery replaced. We were greeted by the security guards immediately upon walking in. They stated a sales representative would be with us momentarily. Several minutes had passed and still no one came to speak with us. The security guard, sensing our frustration, went to the back to get someone to help us. Once again, he assured us that someone would be right out. Tired of waiting around, we left the store. We walked north to the Tourneau store at Water Tower Place to have the battery replaced. They had it finished in one hour and I walked out with a new watch!

Very disappointing. I purchase high end gifts fairly often, but will not do so from this store again. Unlike Tiffany, which will messenger purchased items to me for free and without question, my attempt to purchase a gift was questioned, I was asked if I had ever purchased from there before (which I had 3 months ago) then was told messengering would add $ 40 to my bill. And then when I went to pick it up instead, I had to wait for service after I had already purchased the gift over the phone. No thank you; I will take my business elsewhere.

4 years ago, I went to the Cartier boutique for a watch battery change. The watch stopped the day before and very clearly there was no battery leakage or any other damage to the watch. First, the battery could not be changed while I am in the shop. After 2 days I get a call and the technician told me that the battery was leaking and that the watch needed a expensive full service to clean up. I am a watch collector and was more than a little surprised as the story didn’t really add up at all and the mechanic just wanted to sell an expensive service.
This time I had to change a band of a watch and went back to the store. The service person was friendly after she realized that I may be able to afford products and services in the shop. They changed the band right there while I was in shop. However, the mechanic didn’t clean up the oily dust from the old band of the back of the watch. Pretty pure work quality, given how expensive the replacement was and how «sophisticated» the shop is supposed to be. They also oversaw that the clasp didn’t lined up and close tight.
I would not recommend this specific Cartier Boutique for any repairs/​maintenance because of the work quality. And you can have also a better and less «snobby» shopping experience with other high end jewelry or watch stores in Chicago.

Came to this store to have the battery of my wife’s Tank watch replaced. The people in the store were very nice and professional. Although it takes 2 days to replace a battery, i’ve decided to take no risk and leave it in «good hands». I had pay the replacement fee in advance.
Two days later i receive a call from their technician asking me if i would want to perform the service on the watch for $ 425. I declined and just asked him to replace the battery. Another two days later, my wife goes to pick up the watch, goes back home… and realized that the watch was not working… the battery was not replaced. She followed up with Cartier, and she’s been told that no charge was applied… but no reason why the battery was not changed.
I have followed up with the store and the money will be charged back. The technician’s note in their system… battery leaking and that is why it needed maintenance. This is not what he told me when he called trying to sell his service!!!
The watch has stop working for 5 days (july 14^th) and we bought it 3 years ago… battery don’t leak unless they are dead and 5 days is not a time long enough.
This experience is far from what i would expect from Cartier and this type of dishonest conduct from their technician should make this store think about how you approach your customers. Did you loose $ 425 or a potential future sale?

Went in to purchase a money clip for my boyfriend and they were delightful. Incredibly helpful, friendly, and attentive. I received zero help at Bulgari and because of this, I went straight to Cartier and will continue to do so. I am on the younger end of their clientele base but didn’t feel profiled at all. A+ experience!
1 star off because they didn’t have ANY money clips on display even though they had several in stock. They all seemed to be surprised as well. Kind of a weird oversight in a store of that caliber.

Was in Chicago for business and had a chance to stop by the store. Not the biggest or best Cartier, but still nice.
Stopped in because I lost the small strap retaining pin on the deployment buckle of my Roadster.
I can’t remember the salesman name, shorter caucasian gentlemen who wears black framed eye glasses (just in case management is reading this) was incredibly helpful and service like that is much appreciated. I always like to give praise for good service especially when most people only speak out with complaints.
If you’re a guy and thinking about getting a Rolex, look at Cartier, much more exclusive and definitely a better looking watch.

I recently stopped in here with my hubby to pick out a joint 30^th bday/​push present. He’s convinced I made up the whole «push present» thing, but the sales associates at Cartier claim I’m not the first to ask for one.
Speaking of their sales associates, we were ignored at first (apparently we didn’t look upscale enough to be purchasing Cartier jewelery), but once we hung around the watches long enough they decided we were serious buyers. We were helped by Leslie, who waited very patiently while I went back and forth between the tank francaise and the santos demoiselle. And then was even more patient as I decided on big face vs small face. Decisions, decisions!
We ended up making the purchase elsewhere since we found a jeweler that could give us a better deal on the watch, but it definitely helped to do the initial research here.

Although I don’t personally ooze luxury, I love surrounding myself with places that do. Trying on ridiculously expensive baubles and taunting myself with gorgeous timepieces, glimmering rubies and shiny gold things is without a doubt one of my favorite past times (and stalking multimillion dollar open houses, natch). It can serve to infuriate snooty salespeople who feel I’m a waste of valuable time — and rightfully, I likely am — but when you find a spot that actually caters to this unhealthy acerbic behavior… total bliss!
Enter the uberswoonworthy Cartier and their Chicago flagship store located smack dab on Michigan Avenue. Filled to the brim with everything luxe fabulous like leather goods, signature watches, jewels galore, accessories, bridal collection, the works. There’s no shortage in things to browse and browse I did. My favorite LOVE collection rose gold bracelet, the swanky Panthére ring, and yes, even the mother of all ROCKS, the Ballerine emerald cut 3.0 ct paved platinum ring. Bling! Bling! Bling!
While browsing here is my forté, buying necessarily is not (I prefer leaving that to the men…) and yet even after the disclaimer «I’m only looking», my hunky helper Joseph was a doll and brought out tons of merch to play with, try and admire. Good Boy! He’s got a fan in me and that Santos Demoiselle wrist candy. Gorge!
Wanna feel like an iced out rock star for the day? Splurge on absolute quality luxury? In need of some therapy shopping? The true name in opulence doesn’t rhyme with Biffany… it resides in the house that bling built, La Maison du Cartier.

Obviously, glancing at my every day watch as I type (a fairly modest Tissot), I definitely don’t fit the typical Cartier patron demographic. So why the four stars?
I think that unless you DO fit the Cartier demographic, you’ll probably feel a bit self-​conscious at this category of luxury retailers. It’s nothing personal against you; it’s just a proof that their brand and image management is working. I believe that other than to serve the tiny percentage of shoppers that pass its window on Michigan Avenue who actually do shop at Cartier, the sole purpose of their existence is market presence in one of the premier retail strips in North America.
Going back to my experience, I did consider one of their low-​end watches as my choice for as a wedding gift from my father-​in-​law (it’s a once-​in-​a-​life gift). Even for such a special occasion, it was way out of my price range. Nonetheless, the sales consultant who worked with me for 20 minutes was professional and courteous, and shared many personal opinions and adivices despite the obvious fact that I will probably NOT be able to afford anything there. That last fact, it was obvious that we both knew that the other knew it. I walked out that day not buying the watch I was eyeing, but I also walked out respecting the brand and its products much more than I used to.
Now, in the interest of full disclosure, I DID end up getting a Cartier watch from an authorized dealer who was willing to work the price (a little, not much, however). You can also get some of their low-​end models in CostCo (it’ll still cost you thousands), and it’s cheaper than the Cartier store, BUT I believe it won’t be covered under Cartier’s warranty (but Costco’s).

The ONLY store on Michigan Avenue this weekend that didn’t have their sidewalk shoveled. They were clearly open, and there was definitely time for them to clear it, the snow had stopped a good 12 hours prior. Perhaps it’s the building’s fault, but them being the flagship tenant should take some initiative and do it themselves.
They’re breaking the law, and they’re lazy. Why would I want to shop there.
