Her works is outstanding but seeing that she only does certain type of work with certain clients, how does one even get in to get one done?

Stephanie’s work is superb. It’s been about a year since I got a large piece done by her and I’m still over the moon about it. It was worth every penny and I encounter people complimenting her work all the time. I’ve had crappy tattoos in the past but Butterfat, for me, set a new high bar for what the experience should be like. Not only is their tattoo work amazing, but the shop is so well-​decorated that it’s clear the owners are terrific artists in every respect. Thanks again!

You know that excitement of planning a great adventure or trip? That’s how my appointments at Butterfat make me feel. Both Stephanie and Esther have created an environment that is unlike most places on earth let alone a tattoo studio.
I have had 5 tattoos (so far) with Stephanie. Her professionalism and quality of work have made me so at ease that she just free hands on me now and each piece is more gorgeous then the next.
If you are lucky enough to work with these two count your lucky stars.

Stephanie is an incredible artist. She’s quick, very skilled and very easy to be around. The shop itself is absolutely beautiful and very private. It’s not the cheapest place you could go, but it’s one of the best.

Ester is a truly gifted lady. She designed my one and only tattoo which I would believe she would proudly show in her portfolio. She is a unique talent with exquisite and eclectic taste. Her Oster blender is iconic!

Each time I look at my tattoos, my love for Esther grows! Her work is amazing. People can’t stop looking at my ink, and no wonder as it is phenomenal.
I appreciate the fact that her studio is private — that way, I can get my inking done without other people staring at me. As one of my friends said, «You’re so brave to have had your ass hanging out in front of everyone at the shop.» Nope! Didn’t have to do that with Esther. And her work space is immaculately clean. Ask her about her spore test binder and she’ll tell you all about how that relates to the autoclave. Plus her vintage dental chair is cool and her cat is adorable.
Even though I’ve moved to SF, I will still get all my tattoos from Esther. She is just that good.

Along with everyone else I am on the Butterfat bandwagon! She does all my food related inkwork and I love it! Appointments are hard to get so I usually make my next one while I’m still in the chair. Even if I dont know what I really want yet.
She’s very particular about what she will do which I think its great. And lucky for me, kitchen kitch is a favorite of hers!
The work is colorful, detailed and you know she puts a lot of thought into each tattoo she does. See you in February Esther!

I swear by Esther. She has done three of my four tattoos. She is professional, sweet, and will work with you on your dream tattoo. I was never sure if I should Unilocal her because she is already booked months in advance by word of mouth and her website alone. She does traditional tattoo styles beautifully but my favorites are the crazy and colorful stuff that she does custom for clients. I always want to get color tattoos, but I know I don’t have the patience for the upkeep that color requires throughout the years. Esther is a gem and I won’t go anywhere else.
