Our goals for LST are not only provided fine tattooing, but also working with other local and national artists of everysort and provide a catalyst for the artistic explosion that is the Logan Square neighborhood.

This place is awesome and truly a custom tattoo studio as well. I wanted a unique piece which only had a few ideas (fruits, trees, birds) to drive it. Gifford was able to bring that into fruition through his illustrative talent, and the piece has come out beautifully and truly one of a kind. I had to give him minimal direction and trusted his judgement and am thankful for that. I went to a few other tattoo studios in the city for the past year including ones that claim to be «custom studios» and all of them wanted a lot of direction from me.

So I wanted to get my first tattoo done and I’m here on the naval base so I don’t know the area very well. Well a friend told me this is where I should go and I’m glad I did. My tattoo came out so amazing. I couldn’t be happier with the quality let alone the service I received while I was there. Such great and talented people. I definitely want to come back very soon!

Gifford does some pretty stellar biomech work. He’s currently working on a sleeve and we’re just shy of 10 hours across two sessions. He’s definitely one of the most friendly and approachable tattoo artist that I’ve met over the years of getting tattooed and I really can’t recommend him enough. He’s the type of artist that you just trust to do good work and to come through at the end.

You know, it’s hard to find an artist who’s work you appreciate and who has a personality that jives. After all the person who you end up working with is going to be inflicting some pain on you. Gifford has been the artist i go to to exclusively for the past 8 years and can say i trust no other to shred my skin to look so good the way i trust this dude. Do your self and your skin a favor and support this shop and it’s artists.

He basically redid an entire tattoo for me that a less-​than-​talented tattoo artist did originally. I have a roughly 12 inch peacock feather on my shoulder that covered up an old tattoo from about 10 years prior that was almost totally solid black and about 6 – 9 inches long. My tattoo from the previous artist had cartoon-​y neon colors, thick abrasive lines, harsh awkward shading, and much of the old tattoo showing still. Gifford transformed it into an absolutely beautiful work of art and turned it into the piece I had been hoping for from the beginning. There’s variation in line weight, beautiful shading, more true-​to-​life color that is richer and much more attractive, and he gave the tattoo depth that it previously lacked. The first tattoo is not even recognizable through it now. The tattoo truly looks like a graceful feather draped over my shoulder now, which is exactly what I wanted. I would recommend him to absolutely anyone!
